Customers often highlight the powerful performance and good build quality of the 15.6" Gaming Laptop, along with its attractive price and customizable RAM. However, some users mention that the fan noise can be noticeable under load and that battery life could be improved. The keyboard's RGB backlighting is also frequently praised.

I honestly bought this laptop because I've always wanted one. Finally had a chance to afford one and was blown away by how fast it ran and how clean it looked. I dont know much about gaming on laptops so I can not really review much about that.

Decent Laptop for Students with Nvidia GPU

This is a very good laptop for Students. Ryzen processor is fast enough & supports DDR4-3200 mhz RAM unlike 10th Gen Intel which support only 2933mhz. The Nvidia RTX 1660ti is a mid range Graphics chip. If you want your laptop to earn some $ while you are asleep, you can run NiceHash mining on this laptop too. It's a bit expensive at $1249, so look for deals.

Pros: Good build quality for what it is. Excellent keyboard Minimal bloatware Easy to upgrade (get into, add/replace RAM) Cons Bezel is a bit much for it being 2020 8GB isn't >quite< enough RAM. The Ryzen 4th gen CPU is amazing. Only real ding would be the fans being a bit, aggressive (i.e. turn on quickly, at max, and are loud).

Great machine response. Excellent price. $999.99 compared with $1,799.99. Yes is not a joke. Best Buy matching price apllied for all states except PR. since the pandemia. What a shame. Special care in the screen area. Don't put nothing above it or your have problems. I recommend to extend the warranty for peace of mind and protect the investment. Unfortunately in Puerto Rico HP care packs is not available, so the only option is Best Buy geeks scuad. But its by far more expensive compared with HP more than 50%. For better performance upgrade a RAM between 16 to 32 GB is a most. The good news is possible to upgrade and also the SSD. I will later add more experience as soon put more load and games to play.

Super fast laptop. Nice display. I’m not a huge gamer but for my occasional gaming use combined with video editing and portability make this an excellent value. Hard to find a more capable unit at this price that can be expanded if required. Excellent for watching videos, etc. Love the look and feel of keyboard.

Great build quality. Keyboard is nice although no num pad and so long performance has been amazing. The 8gb ram is the main bottleneck in this laptop and I was expecting better battery performance, but guess that’s the way it is, since it is my first gaming laptop. Oh and it looks amazing!

My YouTube Coverage: https://youtu.be/L28eksDnBoA HP has certainly stepped up their game in these latest OMEN gaming laptops, dishing out performance at levels that'd make most other laptops shake in their shoes. However, HP hasn't quite nailed their quality control. Numerous customer complaints have been arisen about not being able to adjust the backlight of the LCD, even after a full wipe and reinstall of the system with all appropriate software installed in the OS and even in the form of BIOS updates. This is very clearly some sort of hardware issue. The fact of the matter is I originally had a working OMEN 15 with thermal problems. I returned that one and got a new one, but now this one doesn't have a working backlight control. Given numerous other complaints online, this isn't some sort of isolated defect and HP should address this publicly and suggest they get the laptop replaced. I no longer have my OMEN 15 due to this problem and I'm not confident enough to buy another until HP addresses this issue.

As soon as I got it. I upgraded the ram(was 8gb, now 32gb) and drive to 2x PCIe 4.0 Sabrent 1tb. I was able to access the internals fairly easy. The GTX 1660 TI is still a beast. With optimizations on the software side, Black Ops Cold War beta ran @ a consistent 1080p 144+ fps.

Perfect for my Highschooler who produces. He loves the speed and performance that he gets from all his production software. No more maxing out the processor when running multiple input channels. Made for gaming but works fantastic for music production.

Solid midrange gaming machine, smooth performance on everything I've played at 1080p. As others have mentioned, the fan runs a little loud when under load, but not an issue if you're wearing headphones. For the price, I haven't seen a better machine!

    Happy with the Omen

Purchased this laptop in early December. At that time it was right around $850 or there about which was 400 or 500 less than the original price and compared to other similar laptops this one stood out based on reviews and price. I did not buy this laptop with gaming in mind. Sure I might play occasionally on it but I do prefer consoles over Pc's. So far no problems with it. I did upgrade the memory to 16gb (2x8)from the original 8. I would definitely advise anyone to do the same since 16gb of 3200mhz memory runs about 50-60$ . This laptop can handle up to 32gb but personally it would be overkill for my current needs . Upgrading the ram and storage takes about 10 minutes and it does not void the hp warranty. Initially I was looking at Asus and Acer but the price and the fact that the omen does not have heating issues convinced me to purchase the HP.

Good all rounder, powerful Ryzen 7

A pretty decent all rounder bright and colorful screen with 72%NTSC 330nits measured, powerful Ryzen 7 4800h (most powerful cpu in a laptop as of now) good performance from Nvidia 1660Ti card for most AAA titles in medium to high settings. The bad: The touchpad is a bit awkward on the surface it makes my finger skip across the surface making it difficult to use, The keyboard is OK but it lacks a number pad and very shallow in travel. The screen lid is a bit flimsy when you carry you around your laptop with just two fingers the lid has a whole hell of a lot of flex so much that the keyboard actually touches the screen you could figure this out when you open it and there’s a little square dust on the screen shape of the keyboard. This is probably not good in the long run it’ll end up leaving scratches.

Purchased when it was on sale for $850. At that price, this laptop is a no-brainer. Very fast and has played all of the games I need it to play at high settings. Added ram and 1TB SSD. Very easy to add those components.

So far I love this computer! It's fast and it keeps pretty cool. The only downside is that it doesn't have a CD Drive and the fan can be a bit loud. Aside from that it's actually pretty light and looks great too.

Got this laptop in hope to find a setup I can move around and take with me. It’s light it’s fast the only slight complaint I have is the fan can be kind of loud if you’re running multiple programs. 10/10

Straight out of box I upgraded RAM & added Evo 970. This was my plan to save $ while maxing specs. So my review is on the machine in an upgrade state. This laptop has handled every new AAA games on max settings with ease! Omen quick switch firmware is a fast way to switch performance needs back & forth. Ryzen processor is fantastic! Don’t believe what you hear about Intel being the best hands down. Don’t believe me??? Look up tech spec performance head to head comparisons on reputable sites. The keyboard dip is my only complaint, but not worth deducting a star. Look that up before purchasing though. I knew before purchasing, so I’m fairly ok with it.
