I would recommend this laptop, it plays most modern games and I have been told there is plent of room for upgrading the ram. I would say the backlight on the screen display could be much brighter, it is hard to see the screen in brightly lit rooms.

Sound is great and the video card is alright. Can handle overwatch.

I purchased this laptop after watching a few YouTube videos about it and comparing different options on BestBuy.com. Virtually every third-party review mentioned that there was screen flex, but they were largely positive. I love the looks of this laptop. The elevated screen is a great boost to ergonomics, and the red / black color scheme looks pretty cool. I also enjoy the longer battery life when not gaming - I use this for work as well as gaming. But, here's why I'm going to return it: 1. HP build quality just isn't what it used to be. They're cutting a lot of corners. The plastic creaks and flexes a lot more than it should. It just feels cheap to the touch. 2. You can't adjust keyboard backlighting and it's always on, unless you manually turn it off. This is not ideal for watching a movie on Netflix. Other laptops have backlights that can be adjusted in brightness, and time-out after you stop typing - making the keyboard less distracting from the screen. 3. The screen color accuracy just isn't there. It's not awful, but for a $1000 gaming laptop, it should be much better. Too whitewashed, and lots of color bleed from the bottom. 4. The speakers aren't very loud. If your netflix video has male actors with deep voices, you're going to hear some vibration / rattling from the speaker housing. Again, cheap construction. I'm swapping this laptop out for an open box ASUS ROG Gaming Laptop that is actually cheaper than this one. My friend has one and after we compared side-by-side, there was no comparison. Save yourself some coin, get a beefier system with a better screen. Take advantage of an open box deal on an ASUS ROG gaming laptop. You won't be disappointed.

Wife wanted a new gaming laptop. For this special mod on Minecraft. Her pc couldn’t even load the game. We went and picked it up Black Friday. Game took secs to load

Bought an open box... It had a dead pixel... returned it and received a new unopened box laptop for the same price. Audio is good, but some bass tones are garbled. I think it's only MP3 because H264 seems to he less prone to garbled bass tones. Other than that it's a great NEW laptop for the open box price. I would recommend it even at the full price in today's market value.

Powerful specs and great exterior. They nailed the carbon fiber / gaming aesthetic. I do wish they had different backlighting than just red but I get it. Would definitely recommend.

This HP Omen has a 128GB SSD which will improve load times while also featuring a 1TB hard drive which provides plenty of room for installing games. It is not sleek and lightweight but does offer decent performance for the price.

This laptop has proven itself for gaming. Excellent graphics, quick speed and super great glow!

This laptop crashed after three weeks and had to be rebooted from scratch. Then 3 weeks after a full reboot it shut down again with mother board problems or battery problems. I wouldn't recommend for big programs, i.e. Autocad.

The boot up speed is like 5 seconds. Storage is huge. I load most of my data on the D drive so the SSD is clear for the OS. AutoCAD boots in less than 10 seconds. Only had it a month so consider that too. Had to get support on chat they are all over your issues.

I really like the design of this laptop, it runs really smooth.
