My boyfriend absolutely loves this gaming laptop! Not to mention it’s the MOST durable for your money. It was in a severe car accident on Christmas and in the rain for days and when we picked it up it was fully charged and works just fine. Incredible.

As a passionate gamer and tech enthusiast, I've had my fair share of experiences with various gaming laptops, but the HP OMEN 16.1" with its 144Hz Full HD display is a game-changer in every sense. From its sleek Shadow Black aesthetics to the robust performance under the hood, this machine is nothing short of a technological marvel.
Build and Design - Aesthetically Pleasing and Durable:
The first thing you notice about the HP OMEN is its striking Shadow Black finish, giving it a look of sophisticated aggression. The build quality is impeccable, with a sturdy chassis that feels ready to endure intense gaming sessions. The 16.1" size strikes a perfect balance between ample screen real estate and portability.
Display - A Visual Feast:
The 144Hz Full HD display is where the OMEN truly shines. It brings games to life with vivid colors, crisp details, and buttery-smooth motion. Whether it's fast-paced FPS games or immersive RPGs, the visual experience is breathtaking. The 144Hz refresh rate means you're getting ultra-smooth gameplay, which is a huge advantage in competitive gaming.
Performance - Power Meets Precision:
Under the hood, the Intel Core i5 processor coupled with 16GB of memory ensures that this laptop punches way above its weight. Multitasking is a breeze, and there's enough horsepower to handle demanding applications and games with ease. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card is the jewel in the crown, delivering stellar performance and supporting ray tracing for ultra-realistic visuals.
Storage - Speedy and Spacious:
The 512GB SSD offers ample storage while ensuring lightning-fast load times. Whether it's booting up the system or loading the latest games, the speed is impressive. The large storage capacity means you can keep all your favorite games and media at your fingertips.
Connectivity and Audio - All Boxes Ticked:
HP has not skimped on connectivity options, with ample ports to connect peripherals, displays, and more. The audio experience, often an overlooked aspect in gaming laptops, is top-notch. The sound is immersive, adding another layer to the gaming experience.
Battery Life - Keeps Going On:
For a gaming laptop, the battery life is surprisingly good. You can get through several hours of gaming or productivity tasks without reaching for the charger.
Final Verdict - A Must-Buy for Gamers and Power Users:
The HP OMEN 16.1" is an exceptional gaming laptop that ticks all the right boxes. It's a blend of aesthetic beauty, raw power, and top-notch features. Whether you're a hardcore gamer, a creative professional, or just someone who appreciates high-end tech, this laptop is a must-buy. It's more than just a laptop; it's a gateway to an unparalleled gaming and multimedia experience.

Excellent Casual Gaming Laptop

I purchased this Omen 16 gaming laptop several weeks ago in preparation for the Diablo 4 launch. I have primarily used it to play Diablo IV and World of Warcraft.
It has been an phenomenal upgrade over my previous laptop. The processor is fast, boot and load times are minimal, there is plenty of RAM for seamless gameplay and multitasking, and there is absolutely no lag. During launch weekend for D4, there were periods of time with long queues, and this Omen didn't miss a beat while playing WoW as I waited to join a D4 server. The graphics card is outstanding and operates seamlessly on the highest, non-4k settings. The screen is exceptional, with minimal reflection and great refresh rate. I am also truly impressed with the richness of the sound from the built-in speakers when I'm not using a headset. I typically use this as an actual laptop (on my lap), and the cooling has always kept up with no problem.
Simply put, the performance at this price point is going to be hard to match. I have zero regrets with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone. I fully expect it to meet my casual gaming needs for several years. Hard core gamers might want something more, but it has met my needs and exceeded my expectations. 10/10

The laptop does work very well when it comes to playing games on it, when it comes to battery life then that is the only downsides when it comes to these types of laptops.
But the laptop does make up for these downsides by having a CPU and GPU that is surprisingly more powerful than my desktop rig. I was also able to slap on 64GB of memory on the machine and you are able to swap out the NVME drive, but it looks like that there is no other slots for storage.

A Powerful and Portable Gaming Machine

As an avid PC gamer, I'm very impressed by the HP OMEN 16.1” gaming laptop. It packs the power of a premium gaming desktop into a thinner, more portable frame. The 144Hz refresh rate full HD screen is vibrant and smooth, bringing fast-paced action to life. Games look gorgeous on this bright, colorful display.
The internals seem very well-balanced - the new Intel i5 processor and RTX 4050 graphics card offer excellent performance for the price, easily handling demanding games like Elden Ring at high settings. 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD give me enough memory for large game files and lots of multitasking. Load times feel very snappy.
Despite some heavy firepower inside, the laptop doesn't get too hot or loud thanks to the revamped thermal design. The keyboard also stays fairly cool during intense gaming. OMEN's "Command Center" software lets me customize performance settings for different games. Portability hasn't been sacrificed either - the power brick is more compact and the design is low profile and thin enough to easily fit in my backpack.
At this price point, it can run new titles on high settings while also being portable enough for school or travel. Battery life is decent though you'll need to be plugged in for longer gaming sessions. If you want desktop-like gaming power in a more compact and versatile form, the latest HP OMEN 16.1 inch laptop delivers. It feels very future-proof and is highly recommended for serious gamers who want quality on the go.

Decent/Good

Not the most powerful laptop, but good enough for just about anything you can throw at it, long as you're willing to compromise on visual fidelity.
The omen software is strangely buggy but largely not an issue.
It doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles but it's physical design is sleek and unassuming; it won't turn heads which in my opinion is good. Better than a jumbo sized angular faux-chrome plated chassis and so on.
The fans on max power are very, very loud. That being said, you realisitcally shouldn't be pushing the pc to that point anyway, it wears out your fans. Otherwise the heat management seems fine, like any high power laptop you should have it propped up to expose the intake vent for better cooling.
The battery usage is humongous. Don't expect more than an hr or so before you go from max charge to 25%. Upside is that it charges very quickly, so as long as your power brick is nearby the battery consumption shouldn't be much of an issue.
The colors on the screen baseline are somewhat faded, ans the 1080p screen definitely hampers visuals. If you want a nice looking screen, might as well buy a separate monitor and hook it up thru hdmi or dp. Or buy a desktop.
This laptop can serve as a portable computer but can be hooked up with an ethernet cable, second monitor, wired/wireless keyboard & mouse, and so on to make a more stationary setup. I've even been able to get it to handle Quest 2 PCVR with decent results, though the 16gb RAM causes it to throttle at some points. The RAM can be upgraded either way.

The moment I unboxed this gaming laptop, I was immediately struck by its sleek design and impressive build quality. The keyboard lights up the room, hinting at the power that lies within.
The laptop’s performance is nothing short of spectacular. With its top-of-the-line graphics card and high-speed processor, it handles the most demanding games with ease. Frame rates are smooth, and the high-resolution display brings games to life with vibrant colors and sharp details.
One feature that stands out is the cooling system. Despite the heavy workload, the laptop stays remarkably cool, thanks to its efficient fans and heat sinks. This not only enhances performance but also extends the lifespan of the components.
The audio quality deserves a special mention. The built-in speakers deliver clear, immersive sound that enhances the gaming experience. Whether I’m in the heat of battle or exploring an alien landscape, the sound effects make me feel like I’m right there in the game.
Battery life is another strong point. Even during long gaming sessions, the laptop’s battery holds up well. This, combined with its portability, makes it a great choice for gaming on the go.
In conclusion, this gaming laptop delivers on all fronts. It combines powerful performance with a stunning display, excellent audio, and efficient cooling. Whether you’re a casual gamer or a pro, this laptop is a fantastic choice. Happy gaming!

First time gamer and I decided to go with this laptop. It definitely does everything and more while handling a big workload. It might be a little heavy and bulky for some but I don’t mind at all because it packs the power I need- and who really said thinner and lighter is better anyways. Everything seems to work and has been working fine for me- I also take very good care of my things so this will last a long time. For the price I got mine on sale so I wasn’t too worried about 500gb of storage because I bought a SSD drive by Samsung for 40 dollar’s that has all my games loaded on it. The display is very clear and haven’t seen any slow frame rates. Battery life is a hit or miss - like I use low power mode but the power goes quickly if you are playing games or running a lot of programs at once, this isn’t a deal breaker for me. Definitely if you are thinking of getting a decent gaming laptop to test the waters I would 10/10 recommend this! HP for the win!

I havent had the laptop long, only a few days, but it performs amazing. I got the laptop for school and light gaming originally, mainly for engineering and valorant. Although valorant is quite an easy game to run, I get roughly 200 -300fps at max settings. Of course its an easy game to run so I tried COD warzone at about mid to high settings, and averaged about 120-160fps (all games at 1080p). The only problems with this is at that you dont have much storage so you gotta busget that, and the fans get loud cause it cools the frick out of the gpu. The top left of the keyboard can get hot/warm when you play an intensive game. (Not currently with me, but when i get a chance ill add pictures).

Great laptop! I game on XBOX and this runs the XBOX app and games superbly. Can easily upgrade storage with an additional SSD m2 (there is in fact an extra slot). can connect your controller wirelessly, no ethernet port. awesome to be able to game anywhere, especially waiting for your car service. I have had this product for about a year now and have no issues. the battery live is moderate, could be a bit longer. the speed is amazing.

A powerhouse at an affordable price! Laptop weighs in at 5.4 lbs, which made it a little difficult to carry around regularly, but isn't an issue if it's mostly for at-home use. I also wish the screen could go brighter (it only has 300 nits) It's not an issue at night, but in the daytime even max brightness looks incredibly washed out. Battery life is also incredibly short (2-5 hours).

Overall great powerful performance based laptop. It is on the heavier side but that’s expected given the components that this PC has.
Battery life was great! I personally enjoy not worrying about being plugged in while I’m on my laptop. After 4 hours of use it was running at about 40%
