Excellent value for money, 9.4/10
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop exceeded my expectations. First off, when I was in the market for a new laptop, I was looking for one that would meet all my needs. A laptop that not only had great processing power for daily and professional tasks but also gaming on modern titles. And let me tell you, this laptop did not disappoint. It was originally $1,699, but I got it for a crazy price - $950. This laptop was so good, that I actually wanted to make a full in-depth review of it's features and components. Looks - You know how most Gaming laptops are typically very chunky and tend to pop out because of their bright or neon color schemes? This was actually one of the things I wanted to avoid as hoarding around a blue or red colored laptop that made me look like I was some sort of construction worker was not something I wanted. This laptop is sleek, clean, and overall really nice looking. When I use it on the go for things like school, you can hardly tell this apart from an average laptop, which is something I love. Its sleek design also shows no flaws in its build quality. Now I'm not 100% sure what the main frame is, but whatever it is, it's sturdy and very strong. The lid/screen is a little flimsy, but as long as you aren't grabbing the laptop by the lid or being too aggressive with it, you should be fine. Keyboard - Another feature that I honestly took for granted when searching for laptops was the keyboard. I typically don't use gaming laptop keyboards much as they are, simply put, downright awful. But, that is another thing that separates this laptop from the majority. The clicks are consistent and responsive, and you can really feel the quality of each key when typing. Plus, the backlit aspect of the keyboard is so nice as well. There is a built-in software that can control the RGB settings of the laptop along with a few other things like performance boosts. You can also turn the backlit feature off and on as you wish, which is also a nice little touch. Performance - In about a week of using this laptop so far, I've done several different tasks of varying levels of difficulty for the laptop, from basic browsing and school work to 3-hour long gaming sessions. If you are like me, you want a laptop that can excel at both ends of the spectrum, and to be honest, this laptop not only didn't disappoint but exceeded my expectations and then some. First of all, I was totally unaware of the fact that this laptop actually had a 1440p Resolution display, which is significantly higher than what I am used to with prior laptops I have used. The image quality on the screen is crisp and smooth, especially with the 165 Hz refresh rate. This quality screen is also evident in games like Fortnite, GTA V, and Valorant. In the past week, these were the only games I tried the laptop on, and the performance in these was great. The RTX 3060 in combination with the i9-12900H gave me a smooth in-game 150-200 frames per second on Fortnite (Performance Mode), 200 FPS in GTA V, and around the same in Valorant, with both of those last two on all high settings. The experience when playing these games was smooth, and I honestly could not ask for anything better, especially when comparing this to older gaming laptops I had. As for more demanding games, I'm pretty sure you could run them just fine, but you'd have to sacrifice a lot of graphics quality to meet that display refresh rate if you are playing a more competitive game. All in all, my gaming experience was top-notch, and I look forward to several more sessions of gaming with this computer! One thing to note is that this laptop tends to get pretty hot to the touch after a while of doing GPU-intensive tasks and the fans can get super loud, so do be wary of that. This is something that I expected as it is a laptop, and it does have limitations when it comes to cooling because of its size, portability, etc. Not at all a dealbreaker for me as I personally always play at a flat desk, with an external keyboard and mouse controlling my gameplay. Other than when gaming, it honestly doesn't get hot at all. Other things - The sound quality and volume are pretty good, don't have much to say. Gets the job done and is pretty good for watching YouTube or movies on it. This laptop comes in at 5.2 lbs. and is honestly pretty heavy for carrying around, so be wary about this too. I've carried laptops that weigh around this amount, but this one seems heavier than any other for whatever reason. Its 16.1" display might also be a culprit, but I'd like to think its benefits are worth it. The battery life of this laptop is pretty average. When gaming, you should definitely try to keep it in the charger as it will perform significantly better than it would on battery. On battery, the performance doesn't change when doing easier tasks such as browsing, but the battery life is pretty short. From what I have done so far, a 100% charge will get you more or less 4 hours of browsing and other tasks like that. Make with that as you will. Thanks for reading this review, and I hope this was helpful to anyone who wanted a laptop to fit their needs. I noticed there weren't any video reviews on this specific model of the HP Omen, so I really wanted to make this review so other people didn't go through the struggle of figuring out whether this laptop is good or not. The bottom line: It's an excellent laptop that checks all the boxes from things like basic professional tasks to gaming. Although it has a few very small setbacks, its downfalls are extremely outweighed by its good sides. For it's price, it's about as good as it gets.

Wrong graphics card
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would be a five star review but the graphics card that was sent in the laptop was an Intel Iris Xe Graphics which is significantly less power than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 that is promised in the actual listing

Too many issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had to return the first one the day after we bought it, because the battery was weak. The second one came by mail and was ok for the firat 24 hrs, but the next day we had black screen and could not log back in. The computer was turning one, as did the fan but we could not see the display. Needless to say we returned this one too and upgraded to Alienware instead.

Great Performance and Value, battery is a joke
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it deserves a 9/10 in terms of overall package and performance. I just don't understand why it only has 1 hour of gameplay on batteries. I'm playing a card game, not an FPS with 166hz refresh rate. It's so ridiculous it pains me. Fans could get a little noisy but compared to other loud laptops out there it's not bad. Heat vents can get less than hot but using fans under the laptop can definitely,If they have a BIOs update would like to see more hours of gameplay from a single charge here. Otherwise, the Bang & Olufsen is a nice crisp speaker for this laptop. The keyboard is small but swift to type once you get used to it. The feedback on the keyboard is great, not dull with great travel. The performance is nice for the price, you get loads of value in your purchase. HP does have lots of bloatware but windows 11 seems to make things smoother. I recommend removing and minimizing background apps to extend battery life. Touch pad is nice and large with very sturdy clicks. Not buttery smooth with feathy clicks but the durability suggests it will hold up for a long time use. Display looks great, white screen backgrounds can show darker edges of the screen but not incredibly noticable, cannot tell when screen is at a high brightness.

For the price, its perfect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this at a discount, about $1,000, and for that price this has been the perfect computer for me. Its not completely mobile since its battery life isnt good, but as a laptop it stills moves from spot to spot fine. The laptop runs every game i could think of considerabely well (most games run at highest graphics wirh frames to spare, excpet for some extremely tasking triple a games. The computer loads and downloads super fast, and the resolution is awesome, with the refresh rate to back it up. The computer gets a little hot, and as aformentioned, has a sub optimal batter life, but other than that, everything is great!

For $$ no brainer and since getting, still worth.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So Far so good. Have had it for several weeks now and it is much faster than the one it replaced. Video quality is good with the normal Intel Iris® XeGraphx…when you start with the NVIDIA RTX 3060 hold your hat it is incredibly better…The 165hz refresh speed makes everything sharper but I haven’t been able to get a frame rate of 165 or close to it with anything I do. When playing games, I see a legit increase in clarity from the last computer to this one. The pre-purchased installed programs that come loaded with are the basic Windows only some HP and OMEN addons not but much bloat other than McAfee and a couple others. SSD is quick and bootup is about 15 seconds from button press to password and another 15 from PW to using. Onboard Camera is as crap as you’d expect for its size, but the mic is a little better than I expected not much but a little. The keyboard back light is Pinkish Red (Tab to 5rfv) Yellow (WASD) Purple (6TGB to =]’/) and light blue (from Enter to the right NO NUM PAD)…Not a fan of RGB usually but this has not been annoying at all. The left side has (1) USB-A, Network, headphone jack, and Card slot. The Right side has (2) USB-A only. The Rear has (1) Pwr (1) HDMI out and (2) USB-C slots it looks…everything else is much needed cooling slots. When doing normal daily tasks and business work it’s fast but needs to be powered up. The battery doesn’t seem to last much more than an hour or so if you are trying to tax the system a lot. And if your legs are “wider” like mine make sure you are wearing pants as it gets hot on my fat legs. Only 2 negatives I’ve experienced are: 1. battery runtime – seems to last around an hour or so with normal useage and when that NVIDIA card kicks I haven’t had the time to get a good sample rate but its maybe 30 minutes MAYBE. 2. The heat it makes. I saw temps coming close enough to 200 that I got a cooling fan pad to sit it on and keep it plugged in to USB on the left side. Temps now are consistently no more than 120-135(gaming use) on a table/desk/stand and 135-150 (Gaming use) on the lap but that pad is much needed to keep temps down it seems. Over All I’m thinking about getting a second to upgrade the wifes computer or just have as a backup/2nd unit.

Great gaming laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Handles games well and isn’t that loud when running them. Got a good deal on it for $1449.99! Like the 1TB storage and QUD 1440p display. Only thing i don’t like about it is it doesn’t have a touch screen and has short battery life. It is however a huge step up from my old 2018 asus zenbook. If it was running this game (beamng drive) it would be loud as a jet! If you want a elegant gaming laptop get this one!

Atrocious battery life
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having this laptop for a year now I can finally give this product a review Let’s talk about the positives As a laptop it runs great when running games 1080p and 1440p and offers great frames thanks to the screen the 1TB storage is ok and the amount of memory is great considering it’s a laptop Cons The battery life is just appalling you’ll have to use this laptop plugged in just to use it more than 3 hours and its not even playing games just it sitting idle the battery drains way too fast it’s horrible considering the price Other cons is the screen always going darker for no reason, the track pad has bad controls it’s difficult using the track pad when playing games, it overheats easily.

Powerhouse for Gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review: This HP OMEN laptop runs everything I throw at it without breaking a sweat. The QHD screen is crisp, the i9 keeps things fast, and the RTX 3060 handles games smoothly. Runs a little warm when pushing it, but overall it’s been an amazing upgrade.

Nice machine
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up one of these when it was on sale to replace my ASUS ROG that was 8 yrs old and had an i7 and GTX 1060 gpu. I wanted a nice replacement that didn't break the bank, and this machine fit that perfectly. The components in this machine are now a generation old but perform admirably - so I've found this to be a great value. It hasn't had any issues with the games I've thrown at it, and I suspect it will perform well on almost anything. QHD looks really good and the refresh rate is fast enough. 1TB and 16 GB are a bit light for me, so I will upgrade both at some point, but until then I will just enjoy it. Along with a nice GPU comes weight and a hefty power adapter, so one should not expect to toss this around like a thin machine, and don't expect the battery to last long especially when using the GPU - both known and acceptable tradeoffs for the performance. Build quality is good (similar to my ASUS ROG). Speakers are a bit lacking, but that's also expected - connect to external or use headset. All in all, I'm really happy with this choice.

Great computer, needs to be constantly charged
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PC is solid and can play most games smoothly with average internet. It boots up fast and the screen is amazing. The only negative thing about this is the battery life, it dies in 3 hours of use.

This Baby Is IT
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is an absolute unit, and I mean UNIT. I cannot say enough about this Omen, it has been absolutely perfect thus far. The first area that I was BEYOND impressed with is the speed. My god, is it fast. I bought this specifically for gaming, and it did not disappoint. The games I play take up a ton of RAM and disc space, and this Omen makes all that processing look easy. I really noticed a difference in the new Core i9 compared to my old Core i7, the speed is just wild, it is so smooth. The second best part about this laptop is the picture and resolution quality, the picture is just beautiful. I was debating between this model and the model below at standard 1920X1080 HD, and I am SO happy I went with the upgraded QHD (its SO worth paying the extra $200). The picture is just GORGEOUS. I have been a Mac man my whole life and let me tell you, the picture quality on this puts my MacBook pro to shame. The only two downsides (but not really) is the sound quality and touch pad. The sound quality isn't all that great. It sounds like a laptop from pre 2014, just not as clear and crisp as some other new laptops on the market. The good news, most people use quality headphones or separate speakers this day in age, so this shouldn't be a big deciding factor for most. The second area that's been a little difficult has been the touch pad. The main reason its been a little tough is because the touch pad itself is HUGE. Its a little touchy, and will sometimes not move the curser or mouse as much as you want it to. But after a few days, you get used to it. The fact that BB is selling it for under $2K is just wild, IMO HP should be selling it for $2.8K+. Such a good laptop for the price, cannot recommend enough. All in all this laptop has been stellar thus far. The speed, picture quality, and just ease of use makes this an insanely good laptop for the price. If you are looking for a high quality gaming or video laptop, this baby is it.

It's just what you need
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this laptop for one year already, and it's been spectacular. You can do pretty much everything with this laptop: gaming, programming, watching movies, making 3D models. The laptop does its work even with hardware consuming apps. And for gaming? Well, it's what they made it for. You can play every single game in the market with this bad boy. Of course, some games won't run so smooth as others, but there's when the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU comes to play; it will customize the games according with the hardware! That's so cool. The laptop it's extremely fast. It turns on and display everything in a blink. If your looking for a laptop that has a prolong battery life, this might not be your choice. The battery runs out pretty fast, so you will have to adjust the energy saver.

I really wish I could afford 3
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is under a $1000. It's an unbelievable value. It's worth every penny. Only downsides are hard to be unhappy about at these prices: weight, professional reviews say it picks up fingerprints, and battery life. Frankly, this laptop was more than we need, but when you get an i9, 16 GB memory, Nvidia GeForce 3060 6GB, 1 TB SSD, a 3ms screen with a decently fast refresh rate, it's hard to pass up. Buy it if you can afford it and don't need a huge battery life and don't mind a heavy laptop.
