Perfect entry level gaming laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing gaming PC. Does get hot like most gaming laptops, but if you don't use the dedicated graphic card and boosted mode you can still get really good performance and keep the heat down. Even while fully boosted/dedicated it runs well, but hot like 90c hot running hogwarts at 60fps. The display is amazing 165Hz and the graphics card is pretty decent GEFORCE RTX 3060. The heat comes mostly from the CPU which is the 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900H, but it's a strong reliable CPU and for the price point it's a steal. It's very snappy, no speed issues for me. Got high benchmark scores. Battery doesn't last very long unless using the eco mode, I usually leave it plugged in all the time. The custom color options for the keyboard is cool. I did a lot of research before getting a entry level gaming laptop and am super satisfied with this purchase. For this price range I highly recommend.

great laptop, bad return service.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.exceptional laptop. sturdy, fast and the screen is very nice quality. the one thing that keeps it from a five star is a fan clicking noise, almost like the fan is rubbing on something. i noticed it not even 25 days after delivery and best buy will not let me return it, even though it says everywhere they have a 30 day return policy. not happy with that.

Speed Demon
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Omen is very very fast. It starts up quickly and runs the entire adobe creative suite with no slow down or stutter. I am very satisfied with the laptop. I did upgrade the memory to 32gb and added another 1gb SSD. I was super easy! I think the battery life is the only negative I found with the Omen. It maybe lasts about 2 1/2 hours before I have to plug it in.

Great Laptop Will Do What You Ask Of It
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent laptop for the price. Very fast at what ever you ask of it. Awesome graphics. Only negative is the battery life, two hours max. The graphics drain the battery per the Best Buy salesperson. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Great laptop for gaming.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this laptop for my daughter to game on. Going from a laptop that was over six years old and was not meant for gaming this is a HUGE step up. Purchased this laptop while it was on sale. What was really appreciated is the fact that the very next day it dropped in price another $200. A simple call to Best Buy and they gave me the extra discount. What really makes this laptop a good purchase and a speed demon is the 12th generation i9. This CPU matches up quite well with many of the newer 13th generation i7’s. The GPU is no longer up towards the top but it still definitely holds its own. My understanding is that under significant load the fan is really quite loud. This is according to my daughter. Fantastic screen and this laptop can drive any gaming monitor on the market up to 240Hz. I also purchased a new monitor and with the combination my daughter is very pleased and is having a great time. Going from an old laptop that was never intended to playing games on to this has been a HUGE leap.

RTX 3060 w/ 12th gen i9? Yeah, it's great!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for gaming at high to ultra settings on most games. The 3060 performs well alongside the 12th gen i9 cpu. The battery does not last long unless doing mundane tasks. The only drawback is the fan noise when doing intensive gaming on performance mode but can be tuned to your liking.

Engineer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop to replace a five year old gaming laptop that had gotten really slow and didn’t have enough memory to support games or even simple tasks. So far this HP Omen has been nothing short of amazing! It boots up in seconds, I can surf the web, stream videos, and multitask with barely any wait. Most importantly it can handle my most played games like Assassin’s Creed and even a very mod heavy version of the Sims 4 without lag or long loading times . The only thing I cannot comment on yet is the battery life since I always keep my laptop plugged in. Yet overall I’m very satisfied with my purchase .

Nice machine
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's huge & heavy. I had to buy a new backpack. Too big to travel on plane. For high quality games, go with the 32GB memory (it does expand). The build quality is good. Although mostly plastic, the laptop feels well-built and high-quality, with a finish that doesn't scratch or easily pick up fingerprints. The screen and keyboard deck flex a bit, but not enough to be of concern. The feet feel strong and adhere firmly to the bottom of the laptop. There are a lot of ports, including ethernet. There's only one-color scheme: Shadow Black.

Great gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for the price. We bought it on sale for less than $1000. It has the 12th fen core i9 which isn’t as fast as the newer ones but is plenty fast. Mix that with the RTX 3060 GPU and it does most things without any issues. Battery doesn’t last long though.

Great Bang for the Buck and upgradable as well!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop and for the money it's a great option, I did do a couple of upgrades like upgrading the RAM to 64gb and I swapped out the SSD drive and added 2 Samsung 980 pro 1tb each for a total of 2tb and now this laptop is a total beast!!!

Awesome laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome laptop. I bought 1 for my oldest son and 1 for myself 2 years ago. Same exact model. We both love our laptops. I saw some comments about fan noise or their laptop getting hot or the battery life isn't great - That's what gaming laptops are like. Get an external cooling fan to put under it. Keep the fan on at all times when the laptop is running. That will keep the laptop cool so it won't get hot, overheat or the fan inside the laptop won't have to work hard to keep it cool. The battery life isn't great because of the power the laptop has. If anyone did any research on gaming laptops before they ever bought 1 the things I said would have been known. I personally won't run any laptop at all without an external cooling fan.

Runs hot
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was alright. Graphics were great and it was fast, but the fans were incredibly loud and the laptop regularly hit close to 200 F as per its own readings.

Review Black Screen and Loud Fans
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There was an issue where the screen kept going black. I figured out it was related to the intel graphic card command center and resolved it. The other issue is the battery doesn't last too long and the fans will get loud from time to time, sometimes it doesn't have anything to do with what you're working on. Overall, this isn't a bad laptop, but if you are planning to game on this laptop then you might want to reconsidered because of the battery and because of the fans. If you are planning to use this for programming then this is more than enough for that.

Great for gaming
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first gaming laptop and I’m absolutely in love with the performance and graphics so far. Very few games that i’ve played have trouble running at the max settings (such as Ark: Survival Evolved), but have ran perfectly fine one step down at the high mark. The only con to this laptop is one practically all laptops have; it likes to get way to hot. A decent cooling mat should fix that no problem, i got one that was $80 that has 4 usb ports on it so its easy to hook up all the essentials such as an external hard drive, keyboard, and mouse. Side note for anyone looking to play Sims 3 on this laptop, it can be played on here but its so outdated you have to google a workaround to make it run.

Great Laptop for the Price!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this for several months. The fans are not loud and it does not seem to get hot easily. I do run a laptop cooling pad under it while gaming. I have yet to run into an issue while playing games. It is a little stuttery while playing Baldur's Gate for some reason. But that is the only game I have issues with it thus far. I was able to get this laptop while it was on sale. It is very light and does the job very well. Battery life is the only downfall. I feel like it runs low quite quickly. I would highly recommend this laptop!

Just needs more ram
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far is performed as expected. I’ve been using it for video editing for the past month or so and the only issue I’ve had with it is my editing software has a pretty high demand for ram. It’ll noticeably bog down working on any videos that are over 30min of footage using upwards of 90% of available memory. Good news is that it can be upgraded and I plan to do exactly that. It does pretty good with games but I wouldn’t try playing anything that’s super intensive. Example, it’ll do Minecraft but I wouldn’t recommend trying to play Cyberpunk 2077 on it. Battery life isn’t too great. I get about 1.5hrs out of it, but again, editing pretty much maxes it out.
