    Great laptop (Minus the trackpad)

So far this is a great powerful laptop. I haven't played many games on it yet but I have used it to run Adobe creative cloud programs and I have yet to run into issues when editing, exporting video or running live streams through the software. I only give it 4 stars though because the battery is not as long-lasting as I thought it would be, and the powerbrick is MASSIVE. But that doesn't make me wish I hadn't bought it. One problem I do have though is the trackpad. it will just randomly decide to stop working very frequently and the only way around it is to either connect a wireless mouse, or just wait for it to start working again. It hasn't made me want to take it back, but it is frustrating. Overall, if there's a way to fix the trackpad issue, this laptop would be near perfect.

I bought this laptop for my sons high school graduation gift. Its been 2 years later and he says this is still a really great computer. He feels really lucky to have found it and got such a great deal. Battery life has slowed down a bit, but other than that he is till super happy with this purchase.

Amazing laptop for gaming. One of the thing I love about this Laptop is the 2 M.2 port and is able to create RAID 0 o RAID 1 from the bios. The screen is really good for gaming but I do not recommend for color correction or photography jobs since is not that accurate for those critical jobs

I have had this laptop for about two years now. It still runs great. I mostly play simulation, 4X strategy, and city-building games. They do demand high performance but perhaps not as much as other games. It heats a lot, so it might be a good idea to buy a cooling pad with it.

Overall I really like this laptop. It performs how I would expect it to for having a 3070 and 11800H. The fans aren’t very loud when using it normally, but when you start gaming on it the temps and fan noise both go up. Temps were above 85 degrees Celsius when playing Warzone on medium settings, but the laptop kept going so I guess it wasn’t a problem. If you turn on battery saver you could get about 6 hours of video editing or whatever else you need to do, but otherwise I would always keep it plugged in as it drains pretty fast.

The best gaming laptop under 1.5k

I was blown away with the performance of this laptop. Cinebench multicore score was above 13700. Gaming performance despite the fact that this doesn't have a full power 3070 was excellent. Comparing this with MSI GE76 (having 150W 3080 which costs 3k) I noticed hardly a 5-15% drop in FPS while playing AAA titles. The thermals are good(both cpu and gpu). I did a .6 undervolt on cpu. While playing games, the cpu hovers around 80-85 and GPU temp stays below 70. The build quality is nice except for the hinge which wobbles ( wish it could have been more rigid). In my unit the light bleed is minimal (tiny bleed in the bottom of the screen) The screen looks sharp even though the brightness is a tad bit low. The speaker is average. But for this price (less of 1.5k) this is the best gamming laptop out there in the market.

Beautiful laptop with great power. I'm able to play games just as good as my desktop even in cpu bound games (over 220 fps-400 in valorant) I don't notice issues. The battery life is garbage but I won't complain since I leave it plugged in to game. The laptop came pre installed with a bunch of bloatware that could easily be uninstalled. My only complaint would be I wish I could have windows 11 instead of 10 since it's still basically in beta other than that the 3070 is great for whatever you need. The display is amazing for a TN panel and couldn't notice much of a difference in the 3ms delay to the 1ms monitors I have, really it's a georgous masterpiece. The speakers are mid but you can definitely hear whatever you need to listen to.

Been with lenovo legion, but saw this spec in white. It looks more clean and professional than legion stingray white. This is my first HP gaming laptop. It's not excellent but it is a keeper. My cons: omen software is sluggish and trackpad is hella sensitive giving slight inconvenience. But i use wireless mouse and keyboard most of the time.

First, let me say that I love the white color of this laptop. It gets compliments more than anything. Per key RGB is amazing and the lighting app comes with several presets but also is fully customizable. Temperatures are amazing. If I lock the system to 60hz/60fps, the temps stay well below 55C degrees while gaming. If I let the system run wild at 300hz, GPU stays around 65C degrees at 100% usage and the CPU stays below 75 degrees during heavy gaming. Even during benchmarks and stress tests I never saw the CPU hit 90C. That's after an undervolt, which is super simple with the included omen software. I just let it do its auto undervolt with the intelligent setting and it gave a -.065 undervolt, which dropped temps and raised clock speeds. Not bad at all for built in software. I am totally satisfied with this laptop, which is saying a lot. I have been through 3 AMD advantage g15's, 4 Aorus 15P's, 2 different Alienware models and none of them were without flaws that warranted a return. I finally decided to give HP a try when it was on sale, and I cannot be happier. I got this i7 11800h and 3070 on sale at $1499, but is still worth it at regular price. HP really came up. I had an older HP Omen from 2019 that I returned after a few days because it was plagued with software issues, and this new 16.1 inch is a giant leap forward in terms of build quality and software compatibility. Give this laptop a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Pretty good machine. Does spin up the fans pretty high when you are using it to game and the screen has a slight wobble to it. Its not terrible, but its certainly noticeable. The 3070 is decent in games, not going to get top FPS in A titles, but its certainly playable. The only thing that I am not sure on, is the battery. It does seems to tear through the battery really fast when playing any game.

Yoooooo Really!!!????!!! Why isn't this Gaming Laptop of the year? I went thru every High-end Gaming Laptop BestBuy had this year and this one just blew me away! Real talk... I just replaced my Alienware X17 that BestBuy Price Matched for me at $1950 during Dell's Cyber Monday week sale for this. Too good to be true specs at the price of $1500... 165hz QHD GSYNC Display with Advanced Optimus??? 115watt RTX 3070??? Samsung Gen 4 1TB M.2 SSD??? 16GB Samsung 1Rx8 3200Mhz DDR4 Ram??? Per Key RGB Keyboard with A really Nice Big trackpad??? I got this on sale for 1500 plus tax... there's nothing out there that can come close to these specs at this price point. Unless this thing breaks in a few months... this will be the last minute 2021 Gaming laptop of the year!!!! Trust me you need this Laptop in your life. Even at the $1800 price range this thing kills! But don't wait just get it now at 1500!

    Display Mode Problem

Pros: I really like this laptop esthetically. The white and black looks nice, the keyboard and rgb is great, and I wanted a 16.1 inch screen. The laptop seems to stay cool while gaming, especially after undervolting. Cons: It took a lot of updating to get it running smoothly. Going to the hp website and getting updates there fixed the sluggish performance I initially experienced. The main problem I have is that the Nvidia container won’t change display modes the majority of the time when I start a game. I have to restart the program to get the display mode to change and sometimes this doesn’t even work. I had the same problem with the same laptop I replaced this one for. I can’t find a fix for it online. When the display mode changes automatically it runs great gaming and I get high fps around 115 is high load areas and 165 in other areas. I’m hoping that eventually an update will fix this. For some reason manually changing the display mode it doesn’t run as well as when the nvidia container automatically adjusts. No fix that I can find online yet.

I'm very pleased with this purchase! This is my first gaming laptop so I can't make many comparisons but this runs every program I've thrown at it like a dream! I will suggest always keeping a charger on you with this computer, as it needs a very large AC portable power bank to charge so it wouldn't work with your standard power bank. The battery lasts about 3-4 hours on just web browsing and much less when running more powerful programs. The speakers are great and the display is also great, but I did switch from a 7-year-old computer to this one, so I'm not sure if that's just due to me upgrading or if it's actually a great display.

    Beware Open Box

Preface bought open box- Have had for a year now, good performance on games however random crashes that require complete computer resets. This has been a trend with the two OMEN laptops I bought open box from Best Buy. No crashes for games like League or just scrolling internet. Generally high thermals straight out of box in upper 80s and 90s. Mediocre laptop camera, weak speakers, and dull screen for TV shows, not so much games. Main complaint is really crashes that occur randomly with some games. Updated drivers, checked files, and no fixes yet.

First gaming laptop and I'm very pleased with the performance. I came from a Macbook Pro because I wanted a laptop for productivity AND gaming. Overall build quality of this machine is amazing and I haven't notice any flaws. Initially, I was set on getting the Asus Zephyrus G15 because its the more popular choice but it was missing webcam so I never pulled the trigger on it. When this laptop came out I made a few trips to Best Buy and tinkered with it for a bit and read and watch reviews online. I went back and forth between this laptop and the G15 and made the ultimate decision to get this laptop because it was on sale for $1,500, has better I/O's, a bigger screen, webcam, HDMI 2.1, thunderbolt 4, and it doesn't look like a super geek gaming laptop. I figured this laptop will be used around the house most of the time, therefore, battery life was not a big issue for me. Also, plugged into the power adapter I feel that this laptop performs better in gaming and that is how I mostly intend to use it. Playing Forza Horizon 5, Grid 5, Mortal Kombat 11, and a few other titles on Xbox gamepass I was able to get 60-165fps depending on the resolution I set with max settings. The G15 with the Ryzen processor felt like it performed better on the battery only but I don't think I will play games on it unplugged from the power source. Some cons to note is that when gaming the fan gets loud and using it for light tasks on battery only it only last a few hours, but that is a normal characteristic for any gaming laptop. I recommend this laptop or wait for 12th gen Intel laptops to be release if this laptop is no longer on sale.
