This is a very powerful machine and that's for the 1 star rating .I mainly use it for 4k video editing. I upgraded from a 3 year old I5 HP quad core laptop and my review is mostly in comparison to that. Battery life on this laptop is a JOKE for $1800.DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP if you're gonna use it mainly battery powered. Just browsing and watching youtube in "balanced mode" will only give you 2 hrs.My old laptop has better/sharper screen @1080p,better sounding and LOUDER speakers.Also don't like pressing 2 keys to adjust volume.No fingerprint reader.Even the cheaper laptop has them. Last thing, they could've eliminated the thick bezel on the bottom of the screen to make the laptop slimmer.

Great performance, returned 2 other laptops before coming across this one and I don't regret it.

I bought this laptop to use at work, but also to be able to multitask and game. I did my research and found this laptop to be absolutely beautiful and powerful. I’m a remote telehealth therapsit so I use my computer all day long. Today while at work I noticed something strange on the screen, and tried to look it up to see if I could fix it. It came to be either a faulty screen or a bad internal cable making these horizontal lines. Regardless, a 2k laptop should not do this within two weeks of purchase. I’m just glad it happened within my return window, and will not be replacing.

I know this is a gaming laptop but I use this laptop as a workstation due to bigger chassis runs cooler and faster i7 11800h. Bought a Dell XPS 9510 at first spent $2300 the dell did not run well and returned it. Went to local best buy and bought Asus that also did not run very well, Picked up the Omen 16 swapped the memory with 64 GB, added another 1 TB NVME Samsung pro 980, runs super fast and it's not that heavy. Currently dual booting windows 11 and Pop OS, love the new trackpad and the mouse, I don't think there is another machine out there with this type of soft mouse and trackpad that works very well together.

The HP Omen 16 is a great gaming laptop that compromised a bit of size for better performance. I love the 165 Hz screen with 1440p resolution. This is a really noticeable difference over a 1080P 120 Hz laptop it replaces. The Omen weighs a little more at 5 pounds and has a bigger 230W power supply, but you get performance out it for those trade offs over the smaller 4 pound laptops with the same video card (RTX 3070) and smaller power supplies. I’m very happy with this purchase!

HP is very annoying... Their laptop bloatware slows down the machine, and there is A LOT of bloatware AND the bloat ware reinstalls itself EVERY windows update... I had to block HP's domains on my router in-order to stop receiving random software installations on my laptop. The BIOS is ABYSMAL... There is NO XMP settings, NOTHING to configure AT ALL except Secure Boot. My RAM is stuck at 1666MHz and I can't fix it until some 3rd party decides to make an alternative BIOS I can flash my laptop with. Yes I have the latest BIOS, Yes I contacted HP support which was not helpful at all.. they essentially said "Yup, you can't do any of that with your laptop". WHICH IS REDICULOUS I will never be buying an HP product again, they are not looking out for the user, they are looking out for their wallet. They want me to send my laptop in, for a fee, for the memory to be configured with a proper XMP profile.... this has to be a joke. I can do that in 10 seconds on my old laptop, but they want me to wait 3-4 weeks for it to be done by them instead. HP is disgustingly annoying. Aside from HP... The laptop is a laptop and it has a 3070, it works. It could be faster if I can configure it properly.... but it works and is alright at gaming, I can go high-ultimate on well optimized games, and medium-high on poorly optimized ones. Have Elden Ring on all Ultimate aside from Volumetric Quality and Shadows on High, looks great. BestBuy shopping experience was great as normal. Ordered online, walk-in, walk-out.

It is the loudest computer I have ever owned, and the hp preloaded apps kept it ramped up and stopped my normal overlays from working correctly. As for everything else, it is pretty excellent, I would upgrade the RAM asap for anyone who buys it.

Fady Roufail was the young man who helped me. I told him what I wanted to do with a laptop. He explained options and guided me to the perfect fit for my needs. I showed him a photo of my current desk top which is slower than a slug and turtle racing. He chuckled and said “no, that could never do what you want it to do!” He was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. I prefer to shop at this Gainesville, Virginia store because of the staff. Amazing price to performance ratio if you catch it on sale ! The 3070 gpu pairs greatly with a 1440p screen.

My first gaming laptop feels very good to be mobile. Dj gigs, edit videos, gaming anywhere i want. Good price.

The bad: 1) Runs a bit too hot when pushed. 2)Speakers are not very loud. The good: 1) I like the white color 2) very quick and responsive 3) Decent price 4) 1tb ssd is fast 5) 16 gb ram 6) easy to open and add a second ssd 7) easy to add more ram.

So far so good. Zero trackpad problems!!!!!!!!! For $1499.00 This was a steal. I was prepared to use a mouse hearing all the trackpad problems others had. But guess what. I have not had any trackpad issues, its not jumpy like others have said. It does not phantomly move seemingly by itself, nothing. Put 64gb of ram in it, no problems. Reverted back to windows 10, no problem. Ran a couple of rendering programs, no problem. Heck I may just get another one of these. Had it for alnost a month now, no problemo!!!

Best laptop I have owned. Blazing fast and super cosmetics! Love that it doesn’t look like a gaming laptop
