Got it open box to replace my M15R4 that the mobo died. You have to tune the 7940HS using x86 apu tuning tool.
-20 PBO scalar offset, +200core/300mem on the 4070. Performance mode, plugged in, set the fan curves, delete the stupid bloatware in W11.

Plays everything nicely. It's a secondary portable setup to my 4090/13700K build. Frame generation and newer dlss tech is nice. Even the internal Radeon can play a few games.
Why are we still offering displays without HDR?
It has stupid stuff like McAfee on it. Omen hub is a resource hog, set the main profile and forget it.

Man, this laptop is amazing. It runs so lightning fast, easily making every other computer ive ever owned look like it was made in the 80s in terms of processing power, game playing capability, ease of use. Functions so well, screen is very bright although I've heard this is on the lower end of gaming laptop screen brightness, it is by far bright enough for my needs, sitting in full sunlight there is zero glare on the screen. It plays modern games running with all settings on ultra flawlessly, at least in my experience, even running spotify in the background simultaneously. Overall i couldnt be happier with my purchase, i managed to scoop it for 1400 and it is still a good deal at 1800 in my opinion. Id definitely recommend the model with the ryzen 9 and the rtx4090, it is a great pairing and cools really well if placed on a flat enough surface. It works great as a leg warmer if youre always cold like me, however as a result it will almost always need to be plugged in. Still awesome for what it does and blows me away in terms of portable computing power.

Very snappy gaming gaming PC with solid performace and decent thermals. The CPU seems well cooled, and the core temps on the gpu under load are decent as well. My only complaint is that the Tjunction thermals on the gpu hit the 87c throttling temp even though the core temp is only in the high 60s.
It's also a bit annoying that it comes with a bunch of bloatware and unnecessary anti-virus software preinstalled.
The screen could be a bit brighter but the hardware and overall specs are great.
I got this on a holiday sale for $1200 which I think is a great price for this laptop.

I am really loving this computer. It is super fast with the Ryzen 9 7940hs and can run basically any game I throw at the RTX4070. Do remember that the laptop 4070 is much slower than the desktop one but it is still quite a bit faster than my rtx 2060super that I have in my Desktop.
The display is decent for a 1080p one though would rather a 1440, but for the price I couldn't complain much.
The only reason I docked 1 star is due to 512gb that's really way too little in 2024, I did take it apart and add another 512gb from my other computer that I upgraded with a 4tb nvme SSD. So 1tb now is decent. Oh the ram is also upgradeable as well but I haven't done that yet would probably go with 32g.
Even with the few little things I would say I would definitely recommend it especially for $1199.00.

I got this laptop as I needed something for work but also wanted to game on the go. Every 4070 laptop seemed to be so overpriced so I never pulled the trigger. Then I saw this one for $1199 with a Ryzen 9/4070 and was skeptical at first like what's the catch! Turns out there isn't one!
This laptop has great performance as it's 1080p 165hz with a mobile 4070. For a laptop I wouldn't buy a 1440p screen unless it atleast had a 4080 so this one works well. I threw a 1tb NVME and 32gb of ram and called it a day.
Thermals are great averaging about 75c on CPU/GPU with 80% fan curve. If you are on the fence about it just buy it cause you won't be disappointed!

Very easy to upgrade RAM and M.2 SSD/NVME after purchase. 8 screws and a guitar pick does the trick.
After removing the bloatware, this laptop screams. I was initially upset about the lack of display port but it comes with an HDMI 2.1 port which I used a powered HDMI to DisplayPort adapter to connect to my monitor.
I love the dark, minimalist aesthetic.

Overall a very good buy for sale price. Ok for full price. The main issue so far is there is no function key lock, which seems like a small issue, but you have to hold FN every time you want to adjust the volume. 500GB SSD storage is pretty good, although with some big games downloaded life sea of thieves and GTA it can fill up quick. Screen is nice and bright, keyboard lights up, and is somewhat customizable (there are four sections that can be colorized). Speakers are treble heavy, but sound very crisp for audios with spoken voice. Battery life is actually really good unless you are playing a resource heavy game. Plenty of useful ports, including a back facing SS USB, HDMI, ethernet, and power. Two left facing USB-C and AUX, and one right facing SS USB. Overall not too heavy for a 16" screen laptop.

Excellent powerful computer. I run full rendering for Solidworks and have no issues. Slightly large computer so pain to carry in your backpack especially with a computer sleeve and battery kinda sucks but if you need powerful, it definitely does the job well. I'm in school for Mechanical engineering so we need high powered computers for our programs and this has never failed me.

I bought it for $1100 and its worth the money. Gaming performance is good. screen is bright and colorful enough. Only con is the battery life while playing. I think id you disable Nvidia ans keyboard lights and use for multimedia it lasts enough.

I have been using it regularly since I purchased the laptop at the end of 2023. I take it everywhere with me, and it is a good laptop, however recently the motherboard has broken and I am told that is a common issie with this specific laptop. I had to renew the warranty for $170 to get it fixed and am currently waiting for the warranty to activate in a month to have it repaired. I rely heavily on my laptop because I am a college student and have a job so I am always on the go, and this laptop has been great for my lifestyle up until the recent issues. It is not too big or too heavy to transport around, however it is just heavy enough that it can get tiring on your shoulder carrying it around in a bag. Overall this laptop, given that you do not have an issue with the motherboard like i did is a great laptop, though with that being a known issue now, I would not recommend buying this laptop and instead look for a different brand in the same price and performance range.

Fantastic system for a fantastic price. I play some very graphically intensive games an this machine has no problem running them at max settings at 100+ frames. Makes me deeply consider selling my Tower and purchasing a second one of these for my wife!

This laptop is a great value, especially if you get it on sale for under 1200.00. Even at 1600-1800 it's a good choice in 2023.
The screen quality is good, no obvious light or dark spots. Speakers are good for what they are. Keys feel nice, good tactile feel for what they are. Minimal to no flex in the body or screen when typing. Screen is sturdy and hinges are tight.
Track pad works fine for what it is.
The finish does not show any fingerprints. Keys are bright enough to see, but not so bright they are distracting.
Weight is pretty good for the system specs.
No issues with overheating so far. Not too hot to the touch if it is in your lap for extended periods of time.
Battery life is decent, I get 3-4 hours when just surfing the internet or watching videos, turning the keys backlighting off and dimming the screen can get closer to 4.5ish hours.
The fans are usually pretty quite as well, I barely hear them unless I'm playing a graphically intensive game.
16gb of DDR5 ram and 512gb SSD are on the smaller side today. But they work and this pc can be upgraded easily enough. There is a free slot for each as is.
I have not experienced the ping spikes that others have mentioned, but I do not play a lot of FPS. So perhaps I have not met the criteria to trigger this issue. I have also not had any technical issues so far.
The built in wNIC is fine, it gets the job done and has good range.
It would have been nice to have more ports.

Great gaming laptop, got mine on sale for 1100 and super happy with it. Runs big games like warzone super fast and on max settings. Battery life isn’t the best but this is to be expected from big gaming laptop. Wish it came in a different color / finish, gets a lot of finger prints

Runs smoothly, types well, LEDs are nice, very fast, good weight, battery lasts. The only complaint I have (which is silly and doesn't even really matter) is that the black tab directly underneath the screen is rather wide and could have easily just been extra screen.

Lightning fast, quiet. Lighted keyboard. Beautiful screen. Just add a wireless mouse and you no longer are stuck at home on your desktop to be gaming.
Haven't tried the battery life. I'm always plugged in. A little pricey but state of the art.

Honestly the best computer I have ever had! Stays cool (50 C under load) just make sure its ona proper surface like a desk or if you take it to bed like i do just put something under it to prop up the back and its golden. Relatively silent and you can still hear the fans under extreme loads, but it is never uncomfortably loud. Games run smooth and fast. The screen is not the most vibrant display ever, but not noticable unless you had it right next to an oled. It is able to handle 165 hz, so thats a bonus.
I got it for $1099 and let me tell you i feel like i got away with robbing a bank. At that price theres nothing that can match it.
