I had an HP OMEN from 2016 that I used heavily while being in the military, deployed 2 times, and gamed hard on it for almost 10 years. It was great for what I needed. It finally started to show its age and I decided to buy another OMEN. Thankfully, HP came out with this new OMEN that's far beyond what I had, and it's fantastic. For the price, I feel that it beats other laptops in the mid-tier space. I've always wanted more than low-tier but could never afford top-tier stuff, so if you want something that works well for basically any game, streaming, social media, school work, and all-around machine that can do it all, this is it. You can put another NVMe SSD for more storage, and RAM is upgradable but 32 GB is enough. And connecting to an external monitor is super easy if you go that route. All in all, its a great Laptop that should last close to 10 yrs or more.

Responsive ssd. The abundance of ddr5 ram and the gpu makes this an impressive gaming laptop. Runs games like a charm. No hiccups. Overheating is not an issue. Wifi hardware allows me to take full advantage of the bandwidth from my router. Display is impressive as well.

This is a great laptop. My only concern is the battery life. I wish it lasted at least 4 5 hours, but nah. only 2 hours Max. But I guess that is what you sign up for when you buy a powerful laptop meant for performance and not battery life. Also, I wish it had Windows Hello and/or a fingerprint.

At the time of writing this review I have had this laptop for a lil over a month and I have been greatly impressed. I upgraded from a dell g7 I had for 7 years and wanted another gaming laptop, but one that had a design that didnt scream “gamer” and had the specs for some heavy gaming on the side for 1200. After searching for a bit, I discovered this laptop that fit everything I was looking for. Wasnt as expensive as the zephyrus g14 and 16 and appeared sleeker than the tuff a16 and legion 5. The specs of 1150 is definitely a steal. So far I had no issues with the laptop regarding performance as cpu and gpu temps have remained below 80C while gaming. Regarding productivity, the laptop has also done good in this area (granted i did wish the cpu wasnt power hungry, but its based off an older amd generation). That said, besides the battery and wifi card placement, I have no issues with the laptop especially for its build quality (being apart of Hp and their known hinge and hallmark problems). Personally id recommend it if ur looking for a laptop at the 1200 mark as other laptops around that range would cut corners either by the cpu, storage or ram and would cost 100-200 more for the same specs.

I bought this laptop on sale for $1279, you cant find these specs for less than $1300 currently. The laptop isn’t perfect but, in my experience thus far, its a great laptop. It crushes any game I have thrown at it on high/ultra depending on the title. Like someone else mentioned, the screen does have some sort of weird aspect ratio which I eventually got used to. It is loud when gaming but its trying to keep everything cool in a small space… noise levels are within my expectations; cant really hear it with my headset on. If you can get it at or under $1300, its a good deal. At almost $1600, I would rather spend the extra money for a lenovo.

Might be kinda long but please read if you’re interested in this laptop.
I overall recommend the laptop, for the price it’s very very hard to beat, I got it on sale so it was I think around $1,200. First off bestbuy shipping is very very trash the box came in very damaged so bad the laptop wouldn’t even power on so I had to drive over an hour the next day and exchange it for a replacement, I’m not blaming the laptop for that obviously bc the box was damaged way more then I was okay with because of shipping. Since I’ve gotten my new one it’s worked great with no problems, the real complaint I have about the laptop is the overheating problem, it doesn’t kick the fans on HIGH when u have it in the Auto category meaning you gotta swap it yourself, man heating problem is the fans being on the very bottom so if the laptop is slightly raised it doesn’t get good airflow but if you tilt it up slightly the temp starts dropping fast so when I’m playing a big game like cod, battlefield or even rust I kee a check every 10-15 mins to make sure I’m not pushing over 205 degrees. Fans are loud on HIGH mode but that doesn’t bother me, overall a great laptop runs every game I’ve tried on high graphics with no problem. Only reason for a 4 star is the overheating and the shipping.. also battery life isn’t the best if you don’t keep it on charge, only while gaming tho.

As long as you have the charger and it’s plugged in, it’s pretty sweet. The battery life unplugged is terrible. At idle with nothing going on its drains pretty quickly, and it loses power and goes into an eco mode when unplugged. Your frames are low. The game quality really drops significantly. But plugged in, its a beast

I am not too knowledgeable about computer specs, but I’ve had this laptop for a couple of weeks now and so far it’s run great! The battery life sucks, but that’s kind of expected from a gaming laptop. I’m sure a desktop gaming computer would be a more ideal option if you’re very serious about optimizing your gaming experience, but for people who just want to be able to play games and stream movies, this is a pretty solid option.

I bought this for when working out of town to play video games. I have a i7, 5070 super ti in my desktop at home and this laptop can keep up and play any games as my desktop with obvious slight graphic changes but im still running 70-90 fps on high-uktra settings. Only upset is the screen is a tad small and kind of hard to see some of the smaller aspects. Hard to transition from my 27" at home to the 16" on the laptop but once used to it, its perfect for in a pinch when out of town.

Awesome laptop if you like heat on your lap. Laptop is extremely fast and runs everything almost instantly. The good part is it looks really nice and plays pretty much anything you throw at it. That’s the good part. The bad part about it however it is that on idle it tends to stay under 95 to 100°C yet this is normal even when the system is idling which I found is odd. A laptop should never get that hot to the point of thermal throttling when it’s not running any tasks. The reason why I returned the laptop was because of the heat issue and even when I upgraded it, it made the heat worse. Not to mention you can probably find a cheaper laptop with more ports, including thunderbolt for probably another hundred dollars less.
I’m thinking it might be that my unit may not have been a good one, but I do understand as it professional that machines do run hot under heavy load, but under light load should never go past 80°C no matter how fast it is. Has good ratings because others are willing to take the heat as a trade-off but not me. Would recommend it for someone that doesn’t care about having heat and is willing to put it on a cooler pad but not for me.

This laptop is powerful. Runs current AAA GAMES no problem. My only complaint and the reason why I’m only giving 4 stars is the battery life isn’t great. Just casual web searching and YouTube will drain the battery in less than an hour even in eco mode and with graphics and performance turned down. Highly recommend if you are gonna be near a power outlet, but for travel and mobility probably not the best.

I jumped in because the cost of laptops and computers + components are skyrocketing! This is likely one of the last amazing deals! Starts up nearly immediately, runs like a dream, great temperatures...it's a GREAT machine!

The other reviews on this had me skeptical. But so far, I haven’t had any issues and it works great. The battery lasts about an hour, which is the only “issue” I’d say. For the price, it’s a great machine.

This laptop is very good at gaming. I thought that the RTX 5060 in it would be too weak to run some games, but STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, a very resource-hungry game, ran perfectly fine at High settings at 1080p and 60fps. However, that’s not to say that this laptop has issues. The battery life is somewhat low, running out within an hour or two on HP’s “Eco” setting in the Omen app, and with the graphics device set to the Integrated CPU graphics. That’s my only major complaint; the laptop genuinely is the best one I’ve owned, and I’d highly recommend it if you want a (somewhat) cheap gaming laptop.

Great performance, suits basic school and office needs. Does well at most games (performance heavy).
Not the biggest fan of the dedicated buttons (e. G. Copilot key, predator) especially since it has replaced existing keys such as the numlovk key or the giant 0 key.
Biggest drawback for a portable device is the battery life (lasts 3-3.5 hrs) with moderate levle of strain.

great display and ok performance for the AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX, 32GB DDR5 should have more power if you use the high performance and try to play the game the fab will be on 24/7 you have to adjust the game setting to good to get the fan working normally as needed.
I had weird issue with laptop that the web browser will have a glitch black wide line every time i hover the mouse to the top of the page i try everything you thing of after even reset the computer try it again issue still happing , when you pay this much money for laptop you expected everything will works good as should be, I'm not saying its a bad laptop maybe its one piece have this multiple issue but in general the laptop looks good and this just an honest review to what i had with this laptop.

This is a really strong laptop. However for pure gaming (it’s a gaming laptop after all) I think it falls a bit short. Especially for the price. It plays almost anything you throw at it but the specs are misleading as these are Laptop specs not desktop hardware and that’s important to note. It’s not bad by any means, but if all you’re looking to do with it is game? Then I think even with escalating costs of parts, building a gaming PC or even a pre built would be the better way to go.
Side note this is definitely a heavy hitter for content creation and creative workflows. If that’s what you’re after here it’s an absolute beast in my experience.
