I bought this when traveling for work after finding out my old computer wouldn't cut it for the work i'd be doing. It has good performance and is really fast in everything it does. Though i manly use this for work I also enjoy playing games and this is a perfect solution from when i'm away from home. Though i'm sure it would satisfy for someone looking for a main gaming computer as well. The first thing i did was download my favorite game (Skyrim) and it looked amazing and ran great. I like the looks of it with its carbon fiber look and red accents. Some of my pros and cons are below after using this product 8-12 hours a day, 7 days a week for a month now. Pros: Good value for the money. Fast 128 GB SSD - good for running the Operating system and apps for instant startup. 1 TB HDD- plenty of storage Good Graphics card Screen Resolution, anti-glare screen, screen size Battery Life Cons: Screen brightness could be higher Speakers are loud, sound quantity could be better Fans run loud Can't change key back-light brightness Bulky Overall i am very satisfied with the Omen and am happy i bought this model over some of the more expensive Gaming Laptops or even the cheaper laptops i was considering.

I am one of those people who likes the newest tech but can't always afford it. My computer that I was using before was bought as a floor model in 2007 so it was time for a new one. As I was looking for a replacement, I knew that I was most likely not going to get another computer for a while so needed enough technology to get through the years. Looking through all the different options, HP stuck out has having the best quality and affordability. Even going through the reviews on other sites and by experts, the HP Omen laptops received high marks in all the categories. Doing enough research helps you determine what computer is best for you. Once ordered, it came quickly, 2 day shipping, and started right up after following the directions. I had never had a Windows 10 operating system before so getting used to the setup took a minute, but they have done a good job making it pretty user friendly. The SSD definitely makes it the fastest laptop I have ever seen. It is also an amazing gaming computer. I am not a gamer but my wife is and she loves it. The graphics are wonderful and rival those of her gaming desktop. There is no glitching (depending on your internet connection) and the sound is great through the 4 speaker system. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone who does not want to buy a laptop for a while and still be good in a few years or gamers who like to be mobile and not miss out.

I wanted a laptop that could edit 1080p video and do some gaming. I've used Apple computers for the last 8 years, but didn't want to pay for a 15" MacBook at this time. The screen is good, it plays games well, and it renders 1080p video quickly. It also has a DVD burner, which many other laptops are going without now. The weight is reasonable for its size, and the keyboard is large. Battery life is good. It's not a thin and light laptop, but that's not a knock against it - I wanted something large and fast. Negatives? The build quality can't compare to an aluminum MacBook. The Apple is rigid, feels well-built, and has stood up to rough handling and 4 dogs for 6 years. The HP Omen feels like several plastic pieces tentatively held together. The touch pad tries to mimic Apple's with its buttons being part of the pad, but it feels a bit flimsy compared to the Mac's. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

This laptop filled all my needs. Fast load time with a SSD drive and enough storage for normal documents and pictures. It can run games at good frame rates (which will get the fans running) that my other laptop can't. I don't have dedicated space for a desktop so this is a good substitute for me.

We have bought several gaming laptops for my Grandson and this is the best by far. It will run all the games he wants it do without difficulty. He is very pleased with the speed and while it is heavier than a regular 17 inch laptop,, it is easy to get around with! He loves this laptop.

I love this laptop! with the 128 gb SSD, bootup is a snap, the 17 inch display is fantastic. The I7 intel is pretty fast, I play Battlefield 1 with no problems.

I bought this to play games and do some surfing at home. It plays Elder Scrolls Online at max settings with mid 50s fps and up. Mostly in the 58-63 range in open territory and 80+ in instances. i7-7700HQ processor, 16GB memory, 128GB SSD plus 1TB HD, decent screen (mostly connected to a 24" monitor though), 1050Ti, and decent battery life. Not future proof but pretty darn good for what is out now. Reasons for 4 stars instead of 5: No blue (always on) USB 3.0 No thunderbolt port Runs warm while gaming, had to buy a laptop cooling pad to stay under 90C Only 3 total USB ports

I've had laptops before but never one that loaded this quick. The only complaint I have is that the monitor is controlled by Intel software - and not Nvidia.Other than that, the system is blazing fast with beautiful graphics. I've run Ghost Recon Wildlands on ultra with no sign of lag. The glowing red keyboard is perfect for nighttime work. A stellar machine.

This is by far the fastest computer I have ever owned. My previous laptop was a Dell inspiron 15 with i3 processor and it served me well for 7 years. I was looking for a good laptop for daily use as well as for gaming and found this monster which was exactly what I was looking for. While the quality of the trackpad isn't great, it doesn't matter to me as I always use an external keyboard and mouse. It looks sleek and feels awesome and starts up within seconds. I just play 2 games - Euro truck simulator 2 and Dirt Rally. This monster runs both the games without any hiccup at ultra settings. I also use a Thrustmaster T150 steering wheel with the games and it works pretty well. The graphics are insane and I'm so glad I bought this and gifted it to myself for my birthday :) Euro truck simulator 2 constantly runs at 60fps without any hiccups and Dirt rally runs in upwards of 110fps!!! I couldn't be happier than this. If you are looking for a good gaming PC within $1,200 and are looking for something in between a laptop and a desktop, then go for this.

I love my laptop. I wanted something that would run just about anything I threw at it and it does beautifully! I'm able to run games like DOOM, Battlefield 1, and GTA5 all on ultra with almost no drop in FPS. The GPU does get a little loud when really pushing it but ive heard much worse.The big screen really allows for a great Immersive experience and it is even VR ready if you would like to go full on immersion. Also the operating system coming already on the SSD made it boot instantly. Literally maybe 3 seconds to boot. My only complaints are the sound is Ok not bad by no means but not quite what I was hoping for. Also there are not a ton of options for your connections. With 1 HDMI, 2 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 it doesn't give you a ton of options there. However there are tons of adapters out there so adding a usb hub and VGA/Display > HDMI adapter is simple fix. I've had this machine for about 3 months now and its dine everything I was hoping for so I'm giving it 5*

This laptop was on sale for 999 which put it in our price range. It competes with the Dell 5000 and 7000 gaming laptops, and the msi and Asus rog lower end laptops. It is plenty fast with i7 4 core cpu, latest gen Nvidia 1050Ti gpu, and 12mb of memory. Plays every game you could want. Does it play every game at highest settings? Of course not. Medium, yes. And we're talking about the latest titles. If u want Max settings for everything, then Spend north of 2000 for that. But it handles everything you throw at it within reason. And for General purpose operation it is fantastic. Design is nice, keyboard doesn't have a lot of flex, touch pad is ok but who cares you'll be adding a mouse anyway. Recommend you give this a look when checking out gaming laptops in the 800 to 1200 range. We had to return the first one in 10 days because the GPU was glitchy. BB did exchange with no questions asked.

Very Fast, awesome graphics, battery lasts for a good time!

performance is very good for a laptop. Screen is large and clear. SSD makes performance much better. The only thing keeping this from getting 5 stars is, it does not have a touch screen. In todays tech I would think every laptop would have it...

I have been using a desktop for most of my work and a lap top for travel for many years. Recently my desktop was hacked and I considered it wasted. My laptop needed replacing for age and wear and tear. I wanted one computer that would do what the two computers had done in the past. I wanted the largest screen possible and I love to game... It was a tall order but the Omen satisfied ... I love it

Chose this laptop after returning an Asus cheepy. Did well for me. Using it for mainly photo/vid editing. It does the job and you can't beat the price at Best Buy. Noisy when intensive jobs kick in. Overall satisfied with the purchase.

I am very impressed with this laptop. The speed of the boot up of it is amazing. The graphics is by far the best that I have ever seen on a laptop. It compare to my 4K TV.

I bought this for my son as his first gaming device. I was scared because of the other complains but so far it’s worked as advertised. My son loves it and all his friends are jealous! It’s really fast and screen looks amazing.

I shopped around for a while looking for a gaming laptop. My primary intent was to play Minecraft on several servers. While I realize MC isn't an incredibly resource intensive game, I wanted to use Mods like Shaders in Optifine to give the graphics an extra-something. I was not disappointed. I've had the laptop for 6 months or so now and I love it. I haven't had any weird errors or problems with the OS. The speed and performance is great and I'm really happy with my purchase. It is big, but I also got the 17" lapdesk from Best Buy to play MC while I'm in the recliner - can't be beat! I will say this - the first laptop I got had a small imperfection in the screen. I took it back and got it replaced the next day and this (I'm using it now) laptop is working like a charm! Love it!

This machine is lickety-split fast! You can have multiple browser windows open with video without any latency... Colors and textures make this laptop appealing to any user! We use this machine with the "EasyWorship" presentation software for our church on a full HD projector and the video, transitions and moving backgrounds are smooth as glass. The only negative I would say right now, if any, would be the potential for it to be dropped and damaged pretty easily. While appealing to the eye, the Omen seems a bit flimsy when it comes to the materials it's made of for instance with the hood/screen and its "flexibility." Asside from wishing it was a little more robust in structure (especially for the price), this laptop still gets 5 stars in my opinion...

I do AutoCAD from a home office, and needed a computer that could start up fast, process a lot of data, large drawings, regenerate screens/images, turn on/off quickly, etc. This laptop exceeded all of my expectations. The SSD is awesome. And I can upgrade to more RAM in the future. Advice: Don't skimp, get everything that you want, to keep your computer from going obsolete in 3 years.
