I took the opportunity to go back to PC after my Apple MacBook Pro was screwing up so bad that I had to have the hard drive wiped. I hate it so much. After dealing with Apple I walked into BestBuy and picked up this bad boy. Its very fast, and doesn't get the hot. Its a little loud but then again I had a MacBook before this and that didn't make a sound. Further more! I miss my games! I can play my games and do my homework!

I have been searching for an affordable gaming laptop and ran across this one at my local Best Buy. It is the best you can get for the money. Why spend more? This thing is FAST! It doesn't hesitate to do anything. Large HD 17.3" Screen, Graphics are very impressive and the no glare screen is great!!! Did I mention that it also looks awesome too?

I haven't bought this wonderful piece of mechanism yet. This would be my choice of laptops though. I am starting to make decisions on making my closet into a recording studio. Is this choice of HP Omen a good choice for starting a recording studio just for myself. Not sure how much memory is needed to start this project. Ant help is deeply appreciated.

First I want to go ahead and throw the cons out there right away. The first conn is that the speakers really suck. They are pretty horrible and probably the worst I have heard on a gaming laptop. Second.....well I can't think of a second. The pros are that I played Ark: Survival Evolved (along with the Scorched Earth mod) on high, and it performed decently enough. Medium is better but on High I was able to get around 30 FPS which is pretty good for Ark. That's my benchmark game. The description on Best Buy about the USB ports is misleading. It says the laptop comes with 1 USB port. It actually had 3. It also has an HDMI out and built in bluetooth. I was able to connect my MX Master logitech mouse via bluetooth pretty quickly. I tried multiple games with this (including my benchmark Ark) and it performed excellently. The sound really sucks (at least the external speakers), but with headsets it probably sounds pretty good. Most laptops do. It comes with an SD card slot which is handy, as I am an amateur photographer and that slot comes in handy. The laptop, for a 17" gaming rig, is very thin. A little over an inch thick, and doesn't really get that warm. For a 17" laptop with a somewhat medium GTX 1050 graphics card, it handles games very well and everything else. I definitely recommend this for gamers who are on a budget!

I was originally going to buy the 15.6" version but then changed my mind last minute when I noticed that it didn't have any SSD space. Let me tell you, this being the first computer I've purchased completely out of pocket, I do not regret my decision! I am definitely not an expert when it comes down to computers, but I can say that it is fast, runs my moderate games on ultra settings + heavy reshade presets so smoothly, and the backlit keyboard makes it so much easier to do my assignments at 2AM LOL. So happy with my purchase !!! :)

Excellent Product, Excellent performance and Good Price

My use of this this laptop is the same as reviewer DARPA: "Overkill for My Use". I am not a gamer and hope to get a good long life out of this machine. My previous laptop was an HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook which lasted 7 years

The 2nd time it restarted I got a blue screen indicating that the laptop is encountering thermal issues. No, I would not recommend this to a friend. I certainly do not recommend the HP Omen.

I picked this laptop due to the specs I required. It had everything I needed. Long story short, it shut down within the 1st hour giving me the bsod. Super disappointed.
