The design of the monitor is quite good. The monitor is stable and the construction feels sturdy, the stand is metal. It does exhibit some social distancing from the wall due to design but I personally don’t need it that close to the end of my desk. The bezel is thin and clean and it is interesting they have all the electronics and connections in a box on the back which is mounted like a triangle. The stand has a headset rest at the top and it allows for positioned height as well as angle. The monitor also has LED ambient lighting which is good for lighting documents under the monitor if you keep your computing in mostly a dark environment. I am not aware of a VESA adapter for this monitor but HP in the past has offered this for prior monitors in this line up. The monitor exhibits decent black, vibrant colors, decent white and good gray uniformity. I did not detect any smearing, flash-lighting or color bleeding and is flicker-free. Due to the monitor being an IPS panel it has good viewing angles, consistent accurate colors and clear images. It has good reflection handling qualities. Its response time and refresh rate of 165Hz gives it a clean picture - watching a video or playing an online game. One thing to note is that to get 165Hz refresh rate you have to use a DisplayPort connection but this from what I have seen and read is common on monitors. Optimum resolution is 2560x1440(QHD). The monitor has a power button and a joystick for settings. The component box on the back of the monitor has a power connector with an external brick type power supply. It also had HDMI, DisplayPort, headset jack, two USB 2 and a USB 3. It also has a laptop-style locking port

It’s a great monitor but maybe a little over priced when I bought it.

I've always been a little skeptical when it came to "gaming" monitors - I never quite knew what the hype was even though I am maybe just a little more than a casual gamer. I've been shown the light! My PC is top end specs as I always want my games to play smooth and at ULTRA settings, but even though I sometimes get some chop or chatter on the screen. Turns out the problem was my monitor! THis HP Omen monitor can keep up with the frame rates that the video card pumps out and syncs it's refresh rate with the frame rate , which makes for a completely buttery smooth tear-free/chop-free experience! Colors have absolutely blown me away - it's able to accurately reproduce colors in ways that none of my other monitors have been able to. SPOT ON! Resolution is 2k (2560x1440) , which makes for a very sharp picture whether you're on the battlefields of an FPS game, or in an Excel spreadsheet doing calculations. To the rear there are some great features - a 2 port USB 3.0 hub, a display port jack, an HDMI jack, and ambient lighting! The base is a solid annodized metal . A display port cable is included. The stand allows for lift/lowering and tilt so you can find a comfortable viewing position. But I want to circle back to where this monitor really shines - gaming! If you're into high frame rates, this monitor really makes a huge difference in making the most of video cards and games that demand those higher frame rates and is able to keep up with anything your video card can throw at it - I can't emphasize more - BUTTERY SMOOTH display experience! As just one of a three-monitor setup I have running, I'm seriously considering ditching my other two monitors (one of which is only a few months old) and replacing them both with two more Omen 27i monitors - the best I have seen!

Haven't had it long but so far this product is a solid made and has a beautiful 1440p resolution which is great for gaming. I would recommend.

Bottom Line Upfront: HP Omen 27i Gaming Monitor checks off all the right boxes that gamers and enthusiasts are looking for in a new piece of kit. Just make sure you have a powerful enough Graphics Card/GPU to get the most of this monitor. - IPS panel – check - 2K, QHD 2560 x 1440 Native Resolution - check - 165Hz maximum (144Hz native) refresh rate – check - 1ms response time /GtG – check - AMD FreeSync supported - check - USB 3.0 Hub built in/Extender - check - DisplyPort AND HDMI cables actually included in the box – Double Check The Omen 27i delivers on its promise of smooth and fast frame rates along with pretty good (but not perfect to my eyes) color reproduction to boot. The height adjustable stand that comes with it is built like a tank and makes it a super easy to find the “just right” height and angle at your desk. The Omen 27i makes for an excellent stealthy addition to anyone’s workspace without screaming “LOOOOK AT ME!!!” … compared to many of the other similarly spec’ed high end “gamer styled RGB” choices out there. ===================================================================================== Detailed Thoughts and Observations: ===================================================================================== Packaging/Unboxing: ============================ *** Unpacking Advice*** - the monitor comes in a sort of clamshell style foam protector (which shared in photos) – grab a buddy or something to secure the base of the box since there is no easy way to “pull” it out of the box … since there are no handles or anything to grab at from the top of it. Your other option is to turn it upside down and try to shimmy it out that way. To me, this is not a problem – I definitely felt the monitor was packed well/safely inside, just pondered if anyone thought about how someone was supposed to get it out of the box. A couple of things I noticed as I was unboxing: - The metal base on the back side of the monitor (where the mounting screws are located) had minor cosmetic imperfections. I have a photo above you can see to better describe what I am talking about, but this is SUPER Knit-picking here. I wonder is this a one-off thing, or manufacturing QC thing – regardless – this will NOT and DID NOT affect my performance in any way. - Speaking of the same Mounting Screw location on the base of monitor - it was a minor inconvenience having to screw the inner most bolt in … since there is not enough clearance to rotate the included Allen wrench at the right angle. Again – SUPER Knit-picking – I say this in hopes someone from HP reads this and is able to make a 3mm screw hole adjustment in some revision in the future It’s nice that they include both an HDMI and DisplayPort cable to help you connect to your PC right out the box, and even a USB Type A to USB Type B extension cable that makes the Omen 27i into a USB 3.0 hub if you so choose. In my case I did, and I use the Omen 27i’s USB Hubs to connect my Wireless USB mouse dongle and wired USB keyboard to free up a USB port from that back of my PC and help eliminate the cable clutter from the back of it as well. Thanks to the thoughtful design choice on HP’s end there. Aesthetics: ========== Right off the bat, I have to admit that I am a huge fan of “stealthy” or “RGB lite” styled gear. I like to have my equipment pull double duty for work AND play. I REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate it when enthusiast grade gear has adjustable RGBs on everything. Sometimes I’m in the mood to light up my desk like a night club after work … but other times I have to Telework from home at night, have work conference calls in house, or meet with others in my home office. Providing me the option of “dialing it back” gamer-riffic RGB lighting and “aesthetics” earns major points in my book. On that note, the HP Omen 27i pulls off the balancing act pretty well. From the professionally styled box art and presentation, to the monitor’s matte black coloration and white LED accent lighting. For me, its blends in perfectly on my workspace and doesn’t scream “I am a L33t” when I don’t want it to. I could see how some people may go the other way on this, so if your part of “RGB me everything” crowd this may disappoint you with “plain old white” lights. The Omen 27i’s lighting consists of 2 white LED mounted under the middle of the bottom of the monitor, which create kind of a ”spot light” effect on your desktop. You can shut off the light, but you can’t adjust the brightness of it – which is kind of a bummer. I can see it being “too bright” for some – especially if you have a glass or light-colored desk. Maybe they can include this type of functionality in a firmware update somehow in the future, or at least take “dimmability” into consideration in a future product revision. Personally, I like it - as it bright enough to act as a reading light but it doesn’t detract from my gaming sessions either. I really liked the almost non-existent 1-2mm plastic frame bezel along the front face of the monitor when it was unplugged/off – however – after powering it on, I noticed an additional 3-4mm of bezel was visible along the edges once the screen came to life. That is not to say it’s a bad thing – its on par with the bezels of my other 27 inch QHD monitors (I have a 3 monitor set up on my desk) – its just that it looks so sleek while it was off, it kind of threw me off initially. Visually, the “chin” of the monitor is the only place you’ll the “stylized” Omen branding from the front in kind of matte white/grey printed finish. Like previously mentioned, I liked that it was NOT CHROME, or visually assaulting me when I looked at it – however I feel like maybe a dimmable underlaid white LED under the lettering would have crushed it on a design front here. Along the back you have a fancier Omen logo and a tasteful white LED lined square on the rear. I liked the additional lighting for my use, because I have an L shaped desk in a corner so the LED lighting added to the ambient room lighting in a positive way. If you have your monitor in the middle of the office or at a LAN party – you might get some bonus points for the visual effects lighting back there, but limiting it only to “white” might not impress as much in that type of scene. Its also nice to have the VESA 100 mm x 100 mm mounting on back. I plan to someday get a mutli-monitor arm extension to support my tri-monitor setup at home - but having non proprietary VESA mounting really opens up a lot mounting choices for you. Performance: ============ The Omen 27i performs exactly as I expected it to. That’s saying a lot. Normally, products don’t “live up to” or perform to the “marketing speak” on the box/press release. The 16:9 aspect ratio coupled with native QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 provides for an excellent experience. When you factor in the native 144Hz refresh rate that can hit 165Hz with “overdrive” I was enjoying buttery smooth gaming sessions across ALL my games. I use an RTX 2070 Super to power my rig, so while I may not get 144+ FPS in all the latest games, I still get well over 100+ FPS on the Omen 27i in most of the latest games I play. The 27i supports AMD FreeSync, which is their version of NVIDIA's G-SYNC and I was able to successfully enable it to run the monitor with no problems. From a subjective standpoint, I found the color reproduction to be a little warmer that I like out the box from what I normally used to, but with a little bit of calibration it performed as I expected it to. The 27i has 350 nits of brightness, which I think fine for gaming and most generally lit rooms, but for those folks that work in VERY bright environments or have massive amounts of back light lighting…I would maybe take a moment to think If perhaps something with a higher brightness output might suite you better. The contrast ration is another big area that can come off as subjective to a lot of people. For me the Omen 27i was not groundbreaking or any better with blacks & grey than other top tier enthusiast/gaming monitors of this ilk – but again that is more a compliment than negative thing. As with almost ALL IPS Panels – you can expect there to be varying levels of back light bleed (BLB). It all boils down to manufacturing quality control and IPS panel component construction, I do not know who exactly produces this panel in the Omen 27i, but from what I can tell HP had done right with their selection for this unit. I personally LOVE IPS panels, and absolutely think the increased color reproduction and viewing angle improvements are FAR worth it – compared the minor amounts of back light bleed that can only sometimes be present. You can sometimes come across the horror stories of “BLB” ruining people’s experiences, but I have to say I have had no back light Bleeding problems with my Omen 27i and in fact when I compared it to my other 27-inch IPS monitors in a darkened room, was I able to vitally see it. I took a photo with my cell, which “exaggerates” the back light bleeding effect due to how the camera picks up the lighting better than your eyes can. I can honestly say, it’s not noticeable to my while gaming – unless I am explicitly looking for it in all black cut scenes or complex black/grey screens along the monitors borders. Summary: ========= The HP Omen 27i does everything right when and where it counts. Of course there are some minor areas for improvement, but in all honesty there really isn't much to improve with this monitor, other then some design considerations and minor color calibration out the box. If you love "professional" - or stealthy enthusiast grade gaming gear - there not much out there better currently than this.

HP's Omen 27i Gaming monitor brings a nice mix of performance and sleek design to all gamers. The top and side bezels are small and the panel has a nice anti-glare coating. The included bottom and back facing rgb lighting lets you set any mood you want to your gaming session. The stand is heavy and allows the screen to tilt up/down as well as move up/down, but it does not allow the monitor to turn side to side. When first setting up the monitor I'd recommend downloading the OMEN Command Center app from the Windows 10 Microsoft Store so you can control all of the settings from your computer desktop. You can make all the same adjustments with the on-screen display via the physical button the rear of the monitor but the app makes it much faster. You can set the two RGB lighting zones independent of each other as well as control their brightness and patterns. The panel has a bit of IPS glow and the viewing angles suffer a bit when moving vertically, but I feel that sacrifice in image quality is warranted with the gaming performance gained from the high refresh rates and adaptive sync. Gaming on this monitor is VERY responsive with refresh rates up to 165Hz and it supports adaptive syncing with Freesync as well as Gsync and Variable Refresh Rate on the Xbox One X so you can have tear-free gaming on whatever platform you decide to play on. You can actually run the monitor at 1440p 120Hz on the Xbox One X with adaptive sync too! Overall I'm really satisfied with the HP Omen 27i and I'm looking forward to playing more games at high refresh rates.

Choosing a monitor for your gaming PC is just as important as choosing what components go into your PC. What good is power without a screen capable of showing you what it can do? As the definition of a good framerate soared well past the 60 FPS mark in the era of eSports, so too have monitors evolved to accommodate gamers’ needs for speed. Having been in on the action for several years under the Omen gaming brand, Hewlett-Packard has several takes on high-refresh-rate monitors under its belt already, but their latest model seeks the ultimate in no-compromise gaming: a 165Hz refresh rate on a 1440p IPS panel. It’s a tall order, and not one without a few small missteps along the way, but the HP Omen 27i Gaming Monitor delivers. Of note, I am running this on a custom desktop with a Threadripper 2920X, 32GB of RAM, and two AMD Radeon Vega 56 cards in Crossfire. While I had little trouble reaching the performance limits of the monitor with this machine, your mileage may vary greatly depending on your CPU and graphics card combination. - Unboxing and Setup Packed efficiently and marketed subtly, the HP Omen 27i Gaming Monitor has premium ambitions. The included instructions are easy to follow, and the inclusion of both HDMI and DisplayPort cables is a welcome sight. Two integrated hex bolts connect the monitor to the height-and-tilt adjustable stand, which has plenty of heft. Adjustments are easy and hold firm. The stand has a cavity at the top of the support arm designed for holding headphones, which is a nice convenience feature that helps clean up desk space. Two USB 3.0 ports allow the monitor to be used as a hub for your keyboard, mouse, headset, or any other USB peripheral, and a combined headphone/microphone port allows you to plug your headset directly into the screen if you desire. One downside I noticed off the bat is that while the monitor is VESA compatible, the mounts are set at a 45-degree angle (a diamond pattern, whereas most others are square with the screen). If you are planning to mount this screen to a monitor stand or arm, make sure the mount plate can rotate freely! The power button and all menu controls are on the backside of the monitor, located along the right side from the viewer’s perspective. I found the positioning a little too inset from the edge of the chassis, making it hard to reach the power button if you’re not sitting in front of the screen. The monitor will automatically switch to the active input source when powering on, or last used if both are active. - Image Quality The “i” in the model name signifies that this is an in-plane switching (IPS) display. The previous Omen 27 screen used a twisted nematic (TN) display. Simply put, an IPS panel will usually have far superior color and viewing angles than a TN panel, but a TN panel will have higher refresh rates. The Omen 27i is a high-performing IPS panel capable of 165Hz, allowing for both rich color reproduction and high refresh rate gaming, making no major compromise for either. In a word, the screen on the Omen 27i is wonderful. The panel gets almost unbelievably bright, produces extremely vivid color, and exhibits minimal ghosting at its highest refresh rate. Backlighting is uniform with zero bleed, there’s no color banding to speak of, and the harshest color transitions (e.g. pure red against pure blue) remain incredibly sharp. While it may not support true HDR, it does support 10-bit color depth which unlocks four times as many possible displayed colors over the more common 8-bit depth, though 10-bit is only available at refresh rates 120Hz and below. One great touch is the external lighting both on the backside and bottom of the chassis. These LEDs illuminate the wall and desk, which in practice helps improve perceived contract and also serves to reduce eyestrain by balancing the light all around the monitor. I found it pleasing, if a little dim on the backside LED and a little too bright on the underside. - Gaming Performance High-refresh gaming spoils you. Within moments of playing my first game of Rocket League and exceeding the 60 Hz barrier I had grown accustomed to with older monitors, I was floored by just how much more fluid the game looked in motion. I will say it’s not as stark a contrast as moving from 30 FPS to 60 FPS is, but there is a definite improvement in visual clarity that high-refresh gaming brings. CS:GO and Overwatch were similarly absolute joys to play at 165 Hz, which was made all the better once setting the monitor’s response time to “Level 1 (Fastest),” reducing ghosting and motion blur to a level so minute I had to go looking for it in high-contrast scenes. Since you will need a very beefy computer to hit 165 FPS at 1440p in most titles, eSports or AAA alike, odds are you will not always be at or above this framerate, and as such the Omen 27i is compatible with VESA Adaptive Sync (branded here as AMD Freesync), which refreshes the screen as quickly (or slowly) as your graphics card draws a frame. What this means is the elimination of “screen-tearing,” and a consistent, stable image without the use of Vertical Sync (which increases control latency) when your system can’t keep up with the monitor. In testing, I found both Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Grand Theft Auto V dipped well short of the 165 FPS target, but with the monitor’s refresh range being 48Hz to 165Hz, FreeSync smoothed out the action when framerates fell dramatically. This range is also wide enough for Low Frequency Compensation to kick in, so that when framerates fall below 48 FPS the action will continue to be as smooth as possible by “doubling up” the refresh rate to match the framerate (e.g. at 47FPS the monitor will switch to 94Hz, 46 FPS switches to 92Hz, etc. until framerate recovers to 48 or higher). I was concerned that the size of the monitor was too small for 1440p resolution, at arm’s length the viewing distance is perfect for normal (100%) scaling within Windows, and the image still plenty large enough to enjoy. The image is just sharp enough that the additional render load of 1440p is justified, as I doubt 4K would look significantly better at 27” for how much strain it puts on a graphics card. - Firmware Troubles I encountered a few small issues in my testing with the monitor that can be attributed mostly to firmware bugs. At the time of this review I am using firmware version LIM111. The smaller issues include brightness settings for the ambient backlighting not holding after turning the monitor off (though it will remember on/off), only a few seconds timeout before switching from a “no signal” input to the active one, and the headphone/microphone port on the monitor itself exhibiting line noise in the form of an audible hissing that doesn’t exist on my PC’s other outputs. The first two could be easily remedied through a future firmware update, though I question whether the line noise is due to firmware code or a poor quality digital audio converter in the monitor. I experienced one significant issue otherwise. After about 30 minutes of desktop use at 165Hz, the monitor will flicker gray a few times over the course of a few seconds, then remain stable for about another 30 minutes before repeating. I did not encounter this problem with the monitor set to 144Hz. I’m not sure whether this is an issue with my graphics cards or an issue with the monitor itself; however, HP’s support site lists the Omen 27i as having a maximum vertical refresh rate of 144Hz. With the screen clearly advertised as having a 165Hz refresh rate, I question whether 165Hz is an overclock that the panel is not capable of sustaining at all times. - Bottom Line The HP Omen 27i Gaming Monitor doesn’t compromise picture quality to reach a high refresh rate, and has rightfully earned its place at the center of my PC gaming setup. Minor firmware inconveniences aside, the panel speaks for itself. It’s difficult to find anything this screen doesn’t do well when it comes to gaming, and it works plenty great as a daily driver for all but the most scrutinous video or photo editing work that calls for precise color. I’m enjoying this panel so much that I’m strongly considering picking up a second one to round out my setup rather than using any random monitor as my side screen, especially knowing that unlike random “gaming-focused” brands, this comes with the backing of an HP warranty. It’s premium and it’s priced accordingly, but the HP Omen 27i Gaming Monitor comes highly recommended!

Setup Setup is easy. No tools are required to mount the display to the included stand. The display just snapped in. Attach power and video cable and your up and running. Design The HP OMEN 27i has a modern design element to it. The left, right and top bezels are thin as you would expect from a display in 2020, however, the bottom “chin” is substantially large and often looks a bit distracting. There is a white LED which indicates the monitor is on, which can also be distracting in dark room settings. The back of the display has a vertical square in the shape of a diamond, where the displays input options are located. It also houses the ambient LED. The HDMI and DisplayPort connections plug into one side where USB and desk lock plug into the other side. The slanted orientation makes it awkward for cables to plus in and bends them at a weird angle as you fit them through the stands cable management system. Performance This monitor comes with 164 Hz refresh rate as well as AMDs FreeSync Variable Refresh Rate technology. Since this is a modern version of FreeSync, this also works with NVIDIA’s GSync technology. This is great for anyone who owns an XBOX which takes advantage of the Freesync technology, and a gaming PC with NVIDIA’s Geforce cards. Sort of a best of both worlds situation. Gaming on either the XBOX at 1440p 60hz or the PC as 1440 164hz, gaming is super smooth and fluid. The monitor produces no screen tearing as a result and the movement is super lifelike. This display also boasts a 1ms grey to grey response time, so images are clear and less blurry when fast moving. Overall, the performance of this display runs with the best of them. Image Quality This panel uses IPS technology. An inherent flaw of this type of display is edge bleed and clouding. This display is no exception. There is significant light bleed around the edges of the display and section of the screen are brighter than others when displaying an all black image. This results in exceptionally uneven black representation. This is a major downfall when it comes in overall image quality. This display boasts Full P3 color, however, I found out of the box, I needed to significantly calibrate the display to get anywhere near what I felt was accurate. Dark and grey contrast is excellent given the IPS display being brighter than TN panels. However, I felt the overall image was overly saturated and I could not find a decent balance between too muted and over saturated. I landed on the side of muted to be more accurate, however, this display will NOT product an accurate color pallet. It is overall just ok. Menu The menu system is very easy and intuitive to use. There is a joystick single button design on the rear right side of the panel. Clicking it brings up the menu. There are the typical contrast and brightness sliders, there are color presets for standard, gaming, movie, warm, cool and native. I found Standard produced the best overall color accuracy. Here you can turn off the rear ambient LED. I found this to be annoying and not offer much to the overall experience, so I chose to turn it off. Under the Gaming section of the menu, this monitor can produce a static crosshair for first person shooter games, which can provide an advantage on games where static crosshairs are not present. There is an option for multiple display alignment if this is paired with a second HP display. Versatility I appreciate the decision to include both HDMI and DisplayPort. This monitor can be used with an XBOX on the HDMI, or a PC with either. The optimal option for a PC is to use the DisplayPort connection though. Conclusion Overall this monitor is a solid performer and offers the versatility any gamer running multiple platforms would appreciate. Overall image quality is just ok. If you are looking for this monitor to double as a photography or graphics display, you will be disappointed. If this is strictly used for gaming and basic computer use, most owners will be satisfied with the quality, performance and options this monitor provides.

I was really looking forward to this monitor. Received it today and immediately went to mount it in the spot that my HP 25x currently sits. According to the product specs, this monitor is VESA 100 compliant, it is not (see image, mounting holes are in a diamond pattern). Product specs claim that a mounting bracket is included, there is not. Surely, there's a user guide that explains how to wall mount this monitor, there is not. After a 30 minute chat session with Deepa, we both came to the conclusion that HP released this product without any documentation what so ever. Deepa then provided me a number to call, I've been holding for 45 minutes as i write this review. This monitor is worthless to me if I can't mount it. Boxing it back up and sending it back.

Monitor itself may be good. But unfortunately HPs product design and packaging info are both bad. What they consider VESA compatible is actually a diamond pattern and not the standard square pattern. There is no bracket included in the box to account for this as stated. If you are looking for a stand mounted monitor it may be good but if you want to wall mount it, pick a different monitor or go searching for a very unique mount.

The HP Omen 27i display is HP’s latest monitor in their gaming focused Omen product line. Is it worthy of a gaming tag, or is this just another rebranded OEM display? Let’s find out! One quick note before we get started – this panel lists as AMD Freesync compatible. I can confirm that with the latest Nvidia drivers, 10 series and newer Geforce cards, when connected via display port, consider this monitor to be G-Sync compatible and will automatically enable adaptive frame rates and support this display, WHOO!!! Inside the box is the stand, power brick and power cable, HDMI cable, display port cable, and a USB A to B cable to hook into the monitor for full control and a helpful two port USB hub. Glad HP provided every cable needed to connect this display. I love the look of this display, it has an almost bezel-less design on three sides and it’s just very clean. It looks at home in a den, office, or a streamer’s gaming cave. The stand is remarkably small for a 27” display, only taking about 10 inches square on your desk (it’s a square rotated 90 degrees like a diamond or a Rhombus for those geometry teachers reading this, carrying the diamond theme through the stand, the back of the monitor, and even the power indicator light is a small diamond). If you are a gamer, you know already that display port is the preferred connector as it unlocks the best support for variable refresh rates and all of those fun things. The stand arm has a gap in the lower third or so as well as a cross bar to allow for very clean cable management. The top of the stand arm is flat with two small ridges on the front and back to allow it to double as a headphone stand. The I/O board on the back of this thing is really cool – instead of hidden connectors on the bottom that usually involve a lot of feeling around or fiddling to get to, the I/O board is a diamond shape and pretty compact, in part because the power adapter is external to the display (which also keeps heat down, which is important for high refresh rate overdriven panels..that said, I still hate external power bricks). This means that the ports face down and outwards, allowing you to actually see them and make connections. This also helps keep the cables neat and close together. The I/O board is also surrounded by a full RGB set of bias lights that light up the entire perimeter. It looks incredible and reduces eye strain if you are playing in a dark room at night. There is another RGB light on the center of the frame that lights up your desk. The lights, as well as many of the display settings, can be configured using the HP Omen command center software. Command center now allows for per-game profile settings, which is really cool to have the monitor switch to your preferred settings and lights for each game. Finally, on to the display. And wow, what a panel. This IPS panel by LG features a 165hz max refresh rate, 2k resolution, and a wide color gamut. It’s right in the sweet spot between incredible colors, frame rates, resolution, and cost. As is typical with IPS panels, the viewing angles are very wide, the colors are vibrant, and they just pop off of the screen. In the corners, as is also common with IPS panels, there is a bit of a loss of absolute black levels and contrast. For most uses this isn’t an issue, but it can be sometimes noticeable in games with very dark scenes. For me, the tradeoffs are worth it for the amazing colors and viewing angles that IPS panels produce, especially in displays this size where the more limited viewing angles of many TN displays means that you will see a color shift just sitting in your normal seating position. With the viewing angles on this IPS display that is not a problem. The 2k resolution matches very well to the 165hz max refresh on this panel, my GeForce 1080GTX is able to drive this display up towards the max refresh with most of eye candy bits turned on in many games. Overall, this monitor is, for me, the perfect blend of resolution, cost, frame rate performance, and colors. It serves as both a daily driver (although it lacks the ultra high DPI clarity of a 4k panel) due to the 2k resolution and brilliant colors, while also hitting high frame rate targets with a 165hz refresh rate and 1ms GtG response time. It has a thoughtful, clean design while not taking up much desk space. Highly recommended for someone who wants gaming performance but also wants a monitor that performs well for everything else.

Super nice moonitor, Nice colors, nice view, imaage is 10 oout of 10. Quality oof the base is good, is heavy and metallic but so what, its good quality, it even has a small light below the moonitor which helps, would recommend, first time using 2k, we will se how long this monitor lasts, since my first monitor (1080P) has been running good since 2016

HP Omen 27i is great monitor for all needs, gaming, video and everyday use. Picture is stunning regardless of resolution you use but 2K beats everything. I can say that this is the best monitor I personally have ever used or even ever tried. Setup: ………. Setup was extremely easy, all it took was to screw 2 screws where monitor connects to stand itself. Plug power and HDMI cord and monitor is ready for gaming. Use: ………. Very excited, and very happy with it. Have been using it for few days and I love it. I did some gaming, some browsing and every day work, tested with video clips and movies and this monitor is beautiful for all those uses. It misses only rotation option but table mount will add that feature as well. Monitor has lots of control options from gaming and lighting (external) settings to video levels, language selection, image scaling, 8 different color modes and others. On gaming mode options, you can control FreeSync, adjust response time on 4 different speed levels and set multi monitor align if you use two or more monitors. I have played some Counter Strike, Call of Duty and FIFA 20 – image, details and response on all of those games are stunning. I am not really a fan of HP, but I must admit that this monitor is an unexpectedly amazing product. I got it on sale for $250, and has been one of the best monitor purchases I've ever made. I'm not the most savvy in regards to panel, response time, and all that, but I've been through different monitors, and this one takes the cake. Images are clear, colors are great, great brightness and contrast for my use case, no input lag, I love the RGB lights on the back and the bottom, and the build quality feels solid! The only "con" is the OMEN app, but it's not really intrusive and doesn't affect system resources. If you can get it on sale at 250 or even 300, it is worth every penny. I must also mention that I love Best Buy's open box options. I was able to get a second one in "Excellent" condition for $250!
