Really solid screeen fast refresh rate and great visuals and the build quality is solid for the price it cant be beat

I recently got my hands on the HP OMEN 27" IPS LED QHD Gaming Monitor in Shadow Black, and it's been nothing short of fantastic. The QHD resolution is a game-changer, offering crisp visuals that bring my games to life. The FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility ensure buttery-smooth gameplay with no tearing or stuttering. This monitor delivers an incredible and versatile experience, work just as well for work and play! I was worried that this being an IPS display would be an issue for fast paced FPS games, but it delivers as one of the best monitors I have ever used! I was able to experience a substantially improved game play on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and CS:GO, but the greatest improvement over my previous gaming monitor is the color accuracy and viewing angles! The beauty of this IPS display allows for incredibly accurate color reproduction at extremely wide viewing angles for images at all speeds. I was able to comfortably use the monitor for photo editing, then jump right into the fast action of a game without even changing which monitor is being used as my main display! The 2k resolution can be demanding on some lower end graphics cards during gaming, but for videos and still images it still delivers an amazing experience. Using a mid-high end graphics card bring out the absolute best from this monitor as the better graphics card performance will be able to benefit from the 165hz and 2k resolutions during fast action games. The ambient lighting is interesting, I have noticed less eye strain in darker settings but the biggest advantage is the light at the bottom of the monitor acting as an additional desk light for getting work done! The construction is very solid, easy to maneuver the tilting and lifting stand, on-board USB dock is very convenient, and the controls are easy to figure out. The included OMEN Command Center is easy to navigate and works great! I would definitely recommend this display for anyone who likes to play fast paced games and enjoys a color accurate display that is flexible enough to fit most people's needs!

So I got this to serve as a secondary monitor to my HP Pavilion All-in-One. I needed the 27inches to accompany my computer as I needed the extra space to work with, especially for my children who need to do school at home. Even though it wasn’t what this OMEN monitor was intended for, it’s still a wonderful experience to multi-task and watch videos and zoom while doing school work. After a few weeks of using it, here are my thoughts: Pros: -Screen quality: this is an IPS panel and the colors are crisp and nice to see. The FreeSync synchronizes the montior’s refresh rate (165Hz in this case), and I don’t see screen tearing when watching videos or even when I was playing some games. -Height Adjustment: this monitor goes up and down with ease. I don’t have any problems trying to adjust it to the right height for me or when my kids need to use it. -Ambient Lighting: there is this light that emanates from the back and helps see my keyboard at night. -Headphone slot: on the back of the screen is a headphone slot. I’m able to place them there instead of having them rest on the side of the monitor or on my desk. Cons (more neutral): -Weight: this monitor is heavy. The base of the monitor bears the weight so that it will not fall over. I get it, but it’s a pain to move around. At least I know my kids won’t knock it down. Conclusion: overall this is a great monitor for my purposes. I like the screen area I have with this in order to multi task as well as the screen quality. And the little things, like the Headphone slot are great additions.

Great monitor. Returned an LG Ultra Gear to purchase it. Compared them directly and even with the LG having HDR this blew it away.

Loved it. Paired up with Ryzen 9 5950x & EVGA 3070 FTW. I was very happy playing MW2 with 2K FPS 192 highest i saw FPS.230: very recently i noticed dead pixels:( i would get again, but reading more reviews I’ve noticed this has happen several times to other owners. I hope best buy will just make this easy since i did purchase additional insurance protection. Plus oddly enough there will be the new one released next month with hopes they did some quality upgrades about this known pixels prematurely going out. If you do get it, just get protection;)

Best monitor for my xbox series s and ps5. And yes i have both lol ..honestly ive never had a monitor that i was happy with years later cuz ill usually find things i dislike BUT not with this monitor. You'll be happy for years to come and even with all the upgrades consoles coming out.

THE BEST MONITOR IVE EVER HAD. The quality of color and graphics are insane. I hope others feel the same way with the monitor. For the price it’s the best bang for the buck! Its a QHD that has 165hz and 1ms response time… can’t beat that.

Caught an awesome deal on this and it has been my favorite monitor yet! Great color for not having HDR, refresh rate is enough for me. I wanted a 1440p monitor so that I could edit videos and see better quality while editing, but I also wanted something I could game on and have a good experience on that front too. This has comfortably done both and I am very satisfied.

First off, I am coming from a 4k monitor to 1440p so I am adjusting to the pixel density difference which mostly affects text clarity. At 1440p the text clarity on this monitor is pretty good once you adjust ClearType in Windows. The color accuracy is lacking but I don't intend to use this in a professional environment so I am satisfied. The refresh rate is amazing at 165hz. I've never had anything above 75 and you can definitely tell the difference in games and even while casually browsing the web! I do not miss 60hz or 75hz and having sync or free sync to cover you for either side of the gaming community is really awesome. Gsync works very well on this monitor as the gameplay is incredibly smooth with constant changes in fps. This display does have some ghosting as expected but It's not usually noticeable especially when playing fast-paced games; it's really not a bother. There is one area which annoyed me quite a bit at first which is the backlight bleed in the lower-left corner but honestly, for the price it's normal and the rest of the display is quite flat and much better than my previous, more expensive LG screen. One more thing to mention is the build quality which is fantastic. The mount comes with is fully made of matte black metal which is quite hefty. The ring and ambient lights are also a nice touch. As a last warning though, the display seems to forget your settings from time to time and in fact it did just that after leaving it for 45min turned on so be aware but ff you're interested in some wonderful 165hz gaming then I say get this, it's on sale for an amazing price!

Perfect gaming monitor. Buying a 2nd one today! My son is a computer programmer and gamer. Said it’s the best one he’s ever had, and for the price, it’s incredible! Definitely go for it.

Looks excellent. The rear ambient lights are awesome. The picture is stellar. Got this monitor to replace a Samsung 4K that’d only do 60hz. It’s for my older computer, but the 980ti is. Ow running 2k @165Hz and looks phenomenal.Picked it up on sale for 120$ off then used a reward certificate. The controls are pretty easy to figure out. I You can change the light to different colors as well. I have a different brand for my main PCs. One has 2x32” curved, and a 27” on a different pc. I have steered away from HP products for awhile. However, this HP Omen is a great monitor. This is a top tier monitor so it’s going to be more expensive than the run of the mill 27”, but it’s worth it.

monitor just arrived may 28th 2020, I got it on sale for $399.99. which imo is the perfect price point for this monitor, I would not have paid 500 for it. same panel as the LG $499.99 monitor, but instead of 10 bit at 144hz it only offers it at 120hz, in exchange you get 165hz max refresh (which I prefer over 144hz even though it is not much) using on my gtx 1070 laptop and gysnc is working perfect... most monitors I have tried flicker and this one does not. the colors and contrast are out of this world, much much higher quality than my previous 1440p IPS monitor. little bit of blue backlight bleed in upper corners ruins dark scenes, but its not end of the world. every monitor has this issue to some degree. my only complaint is the white levels feel a little off even after calibration, but again not a huge deal its overall very high quality panel. I am glad I bought it.

100% worth it, great quality monitor. Definitely paying for the quality of monitor and not just the flashy LED lights ( Which it happens to have). Definitely would recommend above others in general price range.

This monitor has been by far one of the best I have ever used. Upgrading from the standard 60Hz to a 144Hz or higher has been one of the best changes to my setup in a long time. The colors are nice, everything looks fine on screen. As for the FreeSync/G-Sync, I have never experienced any issues using this with my RTX 2070 Super, and have enjoyed spending countless hours gaming on this monitor. I am considering purchasing another for a dual-display setup. Only thing I wish this monitor also had was the addition of HDR - If that was the case then this would be the total package for me.
