The base 5070 is not the way. I would recommend going for the 5070 ti.

I just picked this up on sale. Considering the inflated prices of gaming PCs already, the MSRP really wasn’t unreasonable but on sale this was a steal. With the 5070 it’s really sufficient for modern gaming. I can play many games at 4k/60+ and others are a little bit below natively on ultra graphics, but with upscaling its top notch with high FPS. 1440p high refresh gaming is totally fine on this with everything modern.
I am pleasantly surprised at how quiet this air-cooled machine is, and it’s pretty compact as well. Great lighting also. I bought this solely for gaming, and use a MacBook Pro for my actual personal computing. I’m not into Windows, but I treat this like a console.
I thought about going for a 5080 with a liquid cooled setup and a higher end CPU but honestly this is really sufficient for what I want to do. I don’t feel very limited by my system, and for the price it’s not even a question. I’d have to spend another $1k for slightly more performance.
This thing is absolutely great. You don’t need anything more than this unless you’re insisting on playing a heavily modded ultra realistic Cyberpunk at 4k native with everything maxed out and then some. Playing RDR2, Doom Dark Ages, Spider-Man, FF7 etc. natively at 4k with everything maxed or 1440p with up scaling and all good results. I’m glad I went with this bargain monster.

Purchased today and set up. Upgraded from a 2021 gaming laptop to this... There's zero lag, the graphics look amazing. Still working on figuring out a few things with my rbg accessories not wanting to sync now that I downloaded the app, but that's not a big deal. Alex at Clackamas Best Buy was amazing and super helpful. Answered all our questions. Google ads had said it was $450 off which unfortunately the manager said they couldn't honor because Google is third party and they didn't update it... But it was still worth the purchase. We appreciate Alex checking for us.

I've owned HP Omen products in the past, alway been satisfied. The build of the machine is attractive and looks well put together, especially with the LED lights going off like a spaceship. My only advice is to pair this specific build of the 35L with a 1440p or 4K monitor. Did some research and it looks like the CPU on this machine may bottleneck with gaming on 1080p, due to games relying on it more than the GPU at that resolution. Sounds weird, but once you up to 1440p the GPU starts pulling more weight with a much smoother experience overall. I got a Samsung Odyssey G50D 27" and it looks amazing!! Also I wish they would forgo the crappy mouse and keyboard all together and knock off 15 bucks off the price. It's like getting a Mustang and the steering wheel is from a Ford Fiesta.
