However, some users have expressed concerns regarding the system's cooling capabilities, suggesting that additional fans may be necessary for optimal temperatures. Issues with RAM functionality and advertised specifications have also been reported by a few customers. Overall, the system is praised for its high performance but requires attention to its thermal management.

Good price point - if you look for similar spec'd desktop, you are probably looking at $2400~$2700, except for the ones that are forever sold out. Memory specification says 3733Mhz, but when I got the product they are 3200Mhz. If the buyer needs to take extra steps in the configuration to boost these to 3733Mhz, the manufacturer fails to inform. Unit runs quite hot. Less so than 30L, but it is still quite hot. It can handle any casual stuff & light gaming. Cooling system is not enought for heavy loads, the stock liquid cooling has insufficient cooling, the top of the chassis is without any fans. Front fans have low airflow. For the unit that I received, the power supply was a bit noisy. I've never had any noise problem with my power supply units, so at first I wasn't even sure where the noise was coming from, but it was the power supply unit. Build quality is excellent, no flimsy stuff anywhere, the GPU is very well mounted, and great cable management.

Bought two lap tops , and a Omen 30L that was returned thr same day O saw this new 40L available for not much more. Played MS flight simulator and the GPU temperature never went over 81c. Dans will kick in and cool if need . Dod buy 3 more 120MM fans. Will install one at front over the second, and the two facing up on the case. The case is very well made and looks great. Am very happy

My 16 year old great nephew is having the time of his life with his new gaming computer. It was a great experience with Best Buy and their staff. They knew the product and really worked with Grant.

had for over a year and its been an incredible system and has worked perfectly. Everything is great for the value and its capable of some very high end gaming and other high load activities, the only drawback I have to mention would be how hot the system can run and the fact it doesnt have top fans. The system definitely runs pretty hot but its never been an issue, or in danger of overheating. However I do recomend doing what I did which is buy and install a couple more 120mm fans just to help out with the airflow a little more, but overall still definitely been a 5 star system!

Keeping in mind that the current market for a 3080 is nuts this thing crushes! I would've liked 16 more GB of RAM for the money but that's nitpicking. It's quiet when browsing and doesn't ramp up too much for gaming on my 1440p screen. It's actually a pretty sweet deal. I do have to knock off half a point for HP's quality control as the m.2 was loose in the case. After installing it, thoroughly testing it and resting assured that i have Total Tech Support and a generous return window, I'm confident it will continue to work strongly! But get it together, HP... Seriously, that's a rookie mistake.

Its a good pc, especially if you want a powerful gaming pc that's easy for beginners. It will play most games in 4k with no issues, the gpu will get warm and the cpu will get hot, which is normal, but the airflow isn't great in the case. The CPU cooler should be bigger but the fan speed increases and stays within operating temp. It is a little too loud though. HP knows it runs warm and leaves slots for you to place fans if you'd like.

Overall good pc and build quality. It does run on the hotter side, I ended up adding one additional fan in the front and two at the top, fixed the issue. This model does not come with Rgb ram as mentioned in the ad. The nice thing is that the light ping control built in will work with argb fans.

The 40L is amazing. Had purchased the 30L and had some difficulties with it so returned and purchased this 40L with the same CPU and GPU and with my experience, couldn't be happier that I likely got a dud with my 30L. This is worth the extra 200 bucks IMO.

Should have been a good computer, Shipped to my home. No internal packing. Graphics card came loose. Cracked the case and damaged the motherboard. Retuned the item with no issues.

XMP profile can only be enabled through software

I purchased this HP Omen hoping that the newer 40L models would have better cooling than the 30L series. Although it does have an additional intake fan, HP's decision to include only a 120mm CPU radiator as the only exhaust is a mistake. The CPU cooler not only has the duty to cool the CPU, but also to exhaust the heat from the graphics card. There are spaces on top for two additional case fans, but we should not have to be adding fans that should be there to begin with. This PC comes shipped with 3700+ MHz HyperX ram. The XMP profile that enabled the faster speed can only be enabled through the HP Omen software. While not necessarily bad, many users are unaware that this is the only way to enable it since there is no way to enable it in the BIOS. Also, for some unknown reason the CPU fan speed can only be monitored in the BIOS. Using Speedfan, it cannot be read, and does not appear in the HP Omen app. Only temperature can be monitored but fan speed can be manually set, but it's whos guess what the RPM is. Overall I would recommend this PC to anyone who who simply wants a PC to have the RTX 3080 and doesn't care too much about super low temperature or tweaking the BIOS for overclocking. If you are looking for better cooling, please add another fan to the front and two more fans on top.
