As a previous owner of technology in the Omen line, this laptop really proves how HP is building on their gaming line greatly! I have a gaming desktop and monitor that are within the Omen family which they are nearly 4 years old, yet they still perform greatly! This laptop enhances as it is top-notch in performance, speed, refresh rates, and overall durability. I especially like that the keys provide great spacing and the trackpad is huge which is always a plus when gaming. The overall setup is easy as Cortana assists you every step of the way. This laptop has plenty of ram and hard drive space capabilities as well. As a result, I know that I will get the maximum from every aspect for many years to come!

I've used several different gaming laptops, and this one by far outperforms them. The graphics are great, the refresh rate is great, for the first time I see people and am able to respond to them appropriately before it's too late. The overall performance of the machine is absolutely incredible. I couldn't be happier. On a whole other note, the colors on the keyboard are absolutely amazing!

A good laptop for a casual gamer

This laptop is a good middle ground for the casual gamer who doesn't want to lug an unwieldy machine around. It has a crisp screen and quite a few ports, so productivity shouldn't be a problem, although I would have preferred to see them on the back instead of the sides. The RTX 6600M graphics is OK in performance, but seems slower in benchmarks. I got a 3DMark Time Spy score of 7490 (graphics score 7186) which feels a bit on the lower side to me (~1000 points above my GTX1080 desktop and ~3000 points below my RTX3070 laptop). However, mixed with the 1080p screen, it was enough power to play Cyberpunk 2077 in Ultra settings...although it wasn't always smooth. Raytracing Ultra settings were simply not good at all, but that's to be expected for a graphics card in this category. Also, the lighting of the keyboard is a nice touch and can be controlled via software. Just note that the color is zone based, not per key. If you're not a hard-core gamer, this laptop fits the bill for a good price.

Pros: Run most AAA games at 120fps, get a bit more screen for your buck, lightweight sleek gaming competitor. Cons: No microphone, bring your own solution for video meetings. They had the space for a full keypad but didn’t go for it. I can’t help but feel GPU should be scoring just a bit better than this, around 30% of the power of a Radeon RX 6800 XT. If I could do it again I would’ve waited for the 6700m or 6700m variant. Comes with budget storage and memory options, needs replacing with faster flagship units to get full potential, but out of the box it’s good enough for most casual users. The limiting factor out of the box for gaming performing WILL be the GPU, not RAM or storage speeds. Stock ram stick sits at a comfortably low % while the GPU pushes 100%. Gotta say I’m surprised the 6600m is not a little more impressive for the hype. It’s not advertised as a budget unit but it is. Go for one of its big brothers.

First year, it started to run slow. 2 years later overheated and screen turned black.
