Disappointed, but could have been a fluke.
||Posted . The price was amazing but ended up returning and picking up a Lenovo Legion Slim 7i

A Good Gaming Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ll be honest right from the beginning…I’ve never been a fan of HP laptops. While their desktops have (almost always) been extremely good, their laptops have been…uh…”problematic”. As such, this review, unfortunately, will be ‘incomplete’, as it would take several more months (time I do not have in regards to submitting this review) for me to do a complete, honest, and truly informative review. As such, I will have to base my finding on the limited amount of time I have been given to submit this review. UNBOXING, SETUP, AND INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: HP, like most companies, has greatly improved on “environmentally-friendly” packaging. They’ve eliminated the great majority of the (unneeded & unnecessary) plastic & styrofoam, and replaced it (for the greatest part), and replaced it with cardboard…so, at least on that front, I am happy. As for ‘setup’, there’s really not much to say. When you purchase a new computer (desktop, or laptop), the first thing you want to do after completing the “initialization” process is run ‘Windows Update’…and, not once, but many times. The best (ok, the ONLY) recommendation I can give is to run ‘Windows Update’, installing everything it finds, then reboot the computer, and repeat the process…and, keep repeating the process until ‘Windows Update’ indicates there are no further updates. After going through all that, my next step is to go to the manufacturer’s website, to their “Downloads” section, and search-for/install all recently-released updates (ESPECIALLY any firmware & BIOS). Only once you have completed ALL of the above-mentioned steps can you consider the computer to have been completely “set up”. Finally, as for “initial impressions”, for the screen size, I feel the physical size of the laptop, as well as the weight, are (essentially) what they should be. This isn’t an ‘ultrabook’, so I didn’t expect it to be “lightweight”, nor is it a full-on ‘gaming laptop’, so I didn’t expect it to be “heavy as a rock”…I expected it to weight somewhere in-between, and that’s exactly where its weight is. I was greatly appreciative of the relatively-slim bezel along the top, and sides, of the screen…but, at the same time, I felt the bottom bezel was a bit excessive. Comparing against my other laptop (an ultrabook), the bottom bezel is no different than the top bezel (approx 1/4”), which is only double the thickness of the side bezels. On the “plus” side, I have to give HP huge props on the sound…while the Bang & Olufsen speakers aren’t as loud as I would have liked (or hoped), they do produce better-than-expected sound (for a laptop). Another “high point” is the laptop’s cooling system. While not a “high-end” gaming laptop, HP did put in a “high-end” gaming laptop cooling system…when I say “it blows”, I mean that in the most positive of ways. Moving over to the CPU, the AMD Ryzen 7 6800H is on-par with the Intel Core i7-12700H. While the Intel CPU does have (slightly) better specs, benchmarks have shown them to be, essentially, equal. Switching over to a GPU comparison, the AMD Radeon RX 6650M is, essentially, equal to the Nvidia RTX 3050Ti. The Nvidia has more cores, but the AMD has a higher clock speed (glad this laptop has the cooling system it has). In overall performance, the AMD graphics are more than powerful enough for your best “mid-tier” games, and can even run AAA games (as long as you do NOT set everything to the highest setting…your best bet is to set everything at a nice ‘midpoint’, and then test). THE LAPTOP IN-USE: I like the colored LED-backlit keyboard…but, I do NOT like that it can only be ‘on’, or ‘off’. The least HP could have done was to have two brightness levels (three would have been even better (for comparison, my Corsair keyboard has ‘off’, and five brightness levels). While I greatly like the 144Hz refresh rate, the 7ms response time is a bit on the “slow” side. On top of that, they could have gone with a display providing slightly higher than just 1920x1080. I’m not saying they should have gone with a 4K display (that would have greatly increased the cost/selling-price)…but, they COULD have gone with 2560x1440. Or, better yet, 1920x1200 (ie. WUXGA), which would have eliminated a good portion of that ridiculous bottom bezel. Other than that, the laptop works. As I said near the beginning ofd this review, I am not given enough time to TRULY evaluate the laptop, so I am unable to provide accurately-informative information. If I could update my review after 6 months (or even 4 months), I would…but, I am unable to do such, thus my “review” will, forever, be ‘incomplete’. “PROBLEMS”: As of yet, I have not run into any ‘problems’…but, based on previous experience with HP laptops, such could, eventually, show. This is NOT to say that ‘problems’ will, eventually, show themselves. Just as certain other brands have improved the quality of their products, it is equally possible that HP has made improvements in their laptops. I do NOT want to dissuade anyone from purchasing this laptop based on my previous experience with HP laptops…so, for those reading this, please, take anything ‘negative’ I’ve said, above, with a grain of salt, and understand that, in regards to this laptop, I could be completely wrong. FINAL VERDICT: This is a ‘delicate’ matter…and, in what I’m about to say (along with everything I’ve said above), understand that part of what I’m about to say is based on prior experience with HP laptops. First, in regards to the “Would you recommend this” question, I REALLY wish Best Buy would add a ‘Maybe’ option…sometimes, having only ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ as the only options isn’t “realistic”. Given the choice, my answer would have been ‘Maybe’…but, since that’s not an option, I will semi-reluctantly say ‘Yes” again, I have not had any problems with this HP Omen Gaming Laptop…and, I am NOT saying I expect to have any…but, based on prior experience with HP laptops, it won’t surprise me if any (eventually) occur. If I were to completely ignore my prior experience with HP laptops, and base my answer on only what I’ve actually experienced with this particular laptop (in the limited amount of time I’ve had to use it so far), then, my answer would be ‘Yes’.

What a MONSTER!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is a MONSTER!!! I absolutely love it. Let's begin. Design: The finish is sleek and stylish. It has an excellent shine to it and feels like brushed metal, which is really cool. The bezel around the screen is super thin and allows for less distraction when playing games or using programs. The lighting effects for the keyboard are simple yet effective and look good with the overall design. This laptop is very pleasing to look at on my desk. Display: The display is fantastic. It shows colors and details well. It is extremely sharp and does not bother my eyes like other displays have in the past. While only 1080p, it is honestly better looking than some 4k displays I have used and that is a huge plus. The 144hz refresh rate is excellent. I notice no motion blur whatsoever and there is virtually no lag time when playing games. I am able to see everything I need to see clearly and easily. Very happy with this display. Performance: I have played two very demanding games on this and it plays them very well. The first game is Deathloop. It is a FPS. I set the display settings to auto and it adjusted them to high on all options. I got an average of 83 frames per second with a high point of 91fps and a low point of 56 frames per second. I noticed the low point happened during intense combat within the game. The second game I played was DOOM Eternal. It is also a FPS but very fast paced. I manually set everything to high across all options. I got an average of 113 frames per second with a high point of 124 frames per second and a low point of 97 frames per second. The low point on this game was during the cinematic type parts of the game and not during the actual gameplay. I have also used windows video editing software and it worked well and had no issues loading or adjusting my content. Downloading games and software is super fast. It only took a couple minutes at most for everything I have loaded onto this thing. This has been the best performance experience with anything I have ever owned to date. Sound: The sound is pretty impressive for a laptop. It has clear audio and is easy to listen to. Not muffled lie most laptop speakers. Webcam: The webcam performs very well. The people I have video chatted with say the picture and audio is great and there is no lag or motion blur when seeing me. Cooling: I am very surprised at how well the cooling system works. For such a thin and lightweight laptop. It stayed pretty well regulated when playing some intense games. Overall, this OMEN laptop is an excellent performing machine and well worth the price. Great job HP!!!

A Gaming Laptop that doesn’t scream GAMING LAPTOP
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Omen 16.1” laptop does not have a garish lid logo with Demon Horns or a mythical creature with pulsing neon lights announcing to everyone at you company meeting or class room that you might not really be paying attention to a boring class or business meeting. The logo on the lid is subtle and the normally pulsating swirling rainbow of keyboard back-lighting can be turned to plain white if you want to be in a stealthy mode. None-the-less, it’s a well optioned gaming laptop at a good price point. I loaded Destiny 2 onto the Omen. I play Destiny frequently on an Xbox Series X. The Omen is every bit as competent to play the game as the Series X console is. FEATURES: • Clean lines and sharp defined corners are attractive. • Anti-glare display • Up to 9 hours of battery life when gaming, • Supports fast charge of approximately 50% in 30 minutes. • Ports include: 1 HDMI 2.1, 1 RJ-45 Ethernet, 2 Super-speed USB Type-C, 1 Super-speed USB Type-A (sleep and charge), 2 Super-speed USB Type-A, 1 headphone/microphone combo, and SD card reader. • FHD (1920 x 1080), 144 Hz, 7 ms response time, IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, Low Blue Light • Weighs 5.3 lbs. PROS: • Excellent display with a frame rate (144 Hz) fast enough for very smooth gaming • Surprisingly good sound with Bang & Olufsen speakers and HP Audio Boost • I installed Destiny 2 which I normally play on an Xbox Series X console. The game played every bit as good on the Omen with smooth colorful graphics and excellent frame-rate of 90-120 fps. • More than adequate cooling no matter how intense the gaming movement. Not too loud under intense demand. CONS: • The Omen’s power requires some heavy hardware. If you don’t need a gaming or high video processing and you need portability, this might not be a good choice for you. • Lacks a book-keeping style numeric keypad. • The on-off button is not in a place you can feel for in a dim light. It is just one of many on the top rows of keys and I sometimes had to turn a light on to find it. • Because of the higher power internals, the body is thicker than the average less powerful laptop. • At 300 nits it’s OK in dimmer evening lighting conditions when I usually game, but in daytime lighting I find the screen a little dim. CONCLUSION: A good choice for PC gamers.

Quality built laptop!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP OMEN 16.1” Gaming Laptop-AMD Ryzen 7 6800-16GB Memory-AMD Radeon RX 6650M - TB SSD - Mica Silver is a very well built is a very well built machine right down to the hinges. From it’s aluminum shell to the backlit RGB Keyboard and even the fan and speaker area underneath are really nice and I love the Mica Silver color. It has a very nice screen with 144hz response rate which is very good and this laptop has to have one of if not the most responsive mouse pads as well. Maybe that goes along with the screen not sure about that yet but whatever it is the smooth operation and responsive clicks are very much appreciated. The only thing I wish the screen was a little brighter than it is. Also, I really can not tell the difference between this one and my 15.6” laptop but that is not an issue if you know what you are looking for. On the left edge you have a USB type-A port an ethernet port a headphone jack and a full sized SDCard slot. Then on the right back there are two USB-Type A ports and matching on both sides there are sets of three fan ports for air circulation. Then on the back edge there are two USB - Type - C ports and Full size HDMI port and the proprietary round power plug as well as 8 more fan vents. Playing games on this laptop is a joy due to the 144hz screen and nice button feedback. I really could tell a difference between the keyboard on this laptop and other ones I have. I believe it may be my favorite laptop keyboard overall. I did several benchmarks on this HP Omen and it performed fairly well for what it is on everything and exceeded my expectations on the SSD and Memory. I also ran a stress test on the CPU and GPU for almost 18 minutes and it did really well. Overall, I really like the HP OMEN -16.1” Gaming Laptop and would recommend it.

Sweet gaming machine on the go!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I love the simplicity of this gaming laptop aside to it being powerful. For the unboxing experience, the packaging was great, and didn't have a ton of wasteful packing foam so it's clear HP designed it to minimize waste and impact to the environment. Inside the box is just the laptop and a charger with some basic instructions/warranty/customer service and support info. Setup is easy and Microsoft/HP make it easier than ever with Windows 11, it only takes a matter of minutes to get through setup and customize your system to your needs. The only thing that I didn't like was the bundled software which is a mixed bag. The good.. there's not much bundled that's annoying.. the two that bugged me most were McAffee Antivirus, Express VPN, and DropBox. McAfee was very intrusive and constantly popped up even after setting it up. McAfee is normally pretty good in terms of protection but in recent years their software has got super bad about nagging you about subscriptions so I uninstalled it and installed one I prefer and got rid of drop box. Who needs that when you have an Microsoft 365 subscription with 1TB OneDrive space. Also, for the VPN, I think it's silly they include it as most people won't use it as most who do already have one they prefer. In terms of hardware and performance, this machine is great! The pairing of the AMD Ryzen 7 with the latest Radeon Discrete Mobile GPU is rock solid for gaming on the go and with DDR5 memory it handles everything you can throw at it well. The 144 hz refresh rate on the display is great and makes gaming and everyday use a great experience. Smooth scrolling in your everyday use and then smooth gaming with high frame rates on the go, very nice. In testing games from my Epic and Origin Libraries, almost every title I threw at it did better than 80-90 FPS with settings on Epic or Very High. I am impressed for being what this machine is in comparison to other setups. The only performance drawbacks I saw in comparison to old gaming laptop was with Ray Tracing. Without Ray Tracing, real world performance is on par with a laptop that has an RTX 3060, but ray tracing performance definitely isn't as good. That said, don't get me wrong, it still performs acceptably but you might have to cut some settings back or use scaling to bump up the FPS for titles where you want the extra FPS like CSGO as an example. For other action titles and games, this laptop performs superb for those and as stated you can get anywhere from as low as 70-80 FPS to more than 180 FPS depending on the the title. All of those I tested with perform well and are definitely playable. For the keyboard and touchpad. The RGB is great and the keys have enough feel that I can type and game well on it. The touchpad is a mixed bag. It's large and it's sensitive which is great but it's hard to click toward the top of it on both sides which is annoying so I have used a mouse. There's plenty of connectivity and HP included two USB-C ports with DisplayPort (yay!) and three type A ports with a headphone and HDMI port. What I love most is they put most of those you'd connect when you are at a desk on the back. Thank you HP!! I think having the power cord on the left or right is super annoying, especially if you're using it on a lapdesk or simply don't like having cables all of your desk when using it at a desk. It is expandable and you can upgrade the memory and add another NVME SSD, though I'm not sure why you'd upgrade the RAM with plenty being included. As for the SSD, before popping one in, I'd get a Type-C external NVME SSD and you'll get great performance out of those ports similar to that of drive mounted inside. Either way here you have options. Overall, this laptop is great and I'd recommend it. I'm writing this review on it and after playing several titles on it, I'll be using it more and retiring my old gaming laptop. Side note, using the Wireless Display with a TV works great too and the WiFi 6 capability is a must have for that to work decent.

Good Value Gaming Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop came packaged beautifully and very simply. It had the laptop itself, the charger, the instructions, and the warranty. I immediately charged it for a day before using it for the first time. First thing I noticed is that the laptop is pretty bulky. The fans underneath are very robust with a raised bottom, so you don’t have to worry about the fans being blocked on hard or semi-hard surfaces. Set-up is all Microsoft-based. You’ll need a Microsoft account even just to get passed the set-up portion when first starting up the laptop. Luckily, I exclusively own PCs and use the same Microsoft account, so once I put it in almost everything transferred over; files, settings, bookmarks, etc. It was great and saved a ton of time! Altogether, it only took maybe 10 minutes to set up everything to my preferences. It was a very intuitive process and not hard to do at all. The keyboard feels nice to use. The keys require just the right amount of pressure where they’re not too soft so it’s easy to misclick, but not so hard that you might miss a key you definitely hit. I’ve had both kinds of keyboards and this is a nice in-between. I also like that the keys are raised enough so I don’t have to actually question whether I hit a key. It was also no trouble setting up a mic and headphones. I also tried plugging in an external keyboard and that was no problem either. I only did this to see if there was any change in performance in case some people prefer gaming like that. It’s doable, but I prefer using the laptop keyboard. The laptop comes with 3 USB ports, HDMI input, ethernet port, and 2 USB-C ports. I used a USB-C port to charge my phone while playing a game. Even with this I was still able to play my game for several more hours before I had to charge it again. I’m a gamer and used this laptop or several hours, several days a week to get an accurate idea of its performance. Since this is mainly a gaming laptop, I wanted to get a sense of how it operated while playing one of my online games. My game of choice is League of Legends. This game is very sensitive to ping spikes, so it’d be easier to catch that when it happened. Play was comfortable overall. I had a ping spike every so often, but that could be because I was playing over wifi. Once I plugged in an ethernet cable and connected it to our router, it solved that problem. Outside of gaming, the laptop had no problem with running the internet, playing videos, multitasking, and productivity or anyone who needs to use this for school work or business. I like that this comes with options to change the power output depending on what you’re doing at the time. Afterall, I don’t need as much power output if I’m just watching videos or writing a paper as compared to when I’m gaming. Good way to conserve power. There are only three critiques I have of this product based on my experience. First, I wish the screen was a bit bigger. Second, it’d be nice if the user didn’t need a Microsoft account at set-up. It was very useful for me when synching all of my information from my other computer, but this could be annoying for someone else who either doesn’t want or doesn’t have a Microsoft account. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a solid gaming laptop.

A hot gaming laptop that runs cool!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A hot gaming laptop that runs cool! The HP OMEN - 16.1" Gaming Laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800 stuffed with 16GB Memory and has an AMD Radeon RX 6650M video card with (8 GB GDDR6 dedicated) plus a 1TB SSD Is a great gaming laptop. HP has introduced OMEN Tempest Cooling Technology along with 3-sided venting and 5-way airflow to provide desktop-level power while minimizing temperatures and cutting down on throttling. It has a solid 16.1 inch monitor that is stable when used on a solid surface. Running the Cinebench 23 benchmarking tool produced a CPU multi core score of 11196 and a CPU single core score of 1059, both of which are respectable scores for serious game play. There was no stuttering or tearing of the video during game play aided in part due to the screen’s 1080p IPS antiglare FHD 144Hz refresh rate. 16.1 inches is a BIG screen! It looks like the 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and the DDR5-4800 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB) RAM are both user upgradeable so if you outgrow the 1TB SSD or the RAM you can probably upgrade either or both yourself. I have not had a chance to try it yet. The HP OMEN hardware and OMEN Gaming Hub are well established names in gaming. The Wi-Fi 6E (2x2) and Bluetooth combo board support Gigabit data rates. The HP Wide Vision 720p HD camera is great for gameplay discussions. The HP Dual Speakers, HP Audio Boost, and expert tuning by Bang & Olufsen bring great audio to your PC. The keyboard is full-sized, 4-zone, RGB backlit and sturdy. The shell is both attractive, and sturdy while minimizing finger prints. The included operating system is Windows 11 Home.

AMD Gaming Powerhouse!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a bit skeptical about an HP gaming rig, especially a laptop. I come from a position of having dedicated gaming PC/Laptop brands. Have no fear, this will play literally everything at Max or near max settings. The chassis is well build. For as small and slim as it is, it's got some weight to it. Boots up fast with the 1TB SSD. It has 5 total usb ports (2 are USB-C) so no worries about connecting peripherals. Gaming is effortless on this thing! excellent response time, though the keys have a somewhat vague feel. My other complaint is no 10key pad, but it's just too small for one. If you're like me and use a 10key or gamepad, this is where the extra USB ports come in handy. Gameplay is smooth and flawless. Max setting: MW5 Mercenaries 84fps WoW Shadowlands 100+ fps Moto GP 22 at 77fps Call of duty Warzone 70fps Overwatch 82fps This one should cover all games at max or near max settings for a long while. Video display was decent, if a bit on the dark side. Plugged into an external monitor though the HDMI was noticeably brighter. Wifi connection was excellent with no perceivable lag. Connection after Wifi loss was quick as well. Once the router came back online, the HP reconnected in less than 30 seconds. Now for my gripes. Trackpad is not very precise, and huge! Sometimes I inadvertently activated it from how I rest my hands on the keys. Battery life while gaming on high is awful! Averaging about 22 minutes. Move settings to medium and drop the screen brightness to half or a little over and you can squeeze just about an hour-ish out of it. Movie/video playback was ok. Depending on how good of a connection and screen settings, 3 1/2 - 4 hours. General mixed websurfing, social media, streaming vids at least 4 hours. Again, depending on what you're doing and your settings. This would make a great all around laptop for a student, or someone on the go, provided they're near a power source when gaming. The Omen can handle multitasking productivity, content/graphical creation, video editing, and gaming with ease. Do I recommend it? Oh Yeah!

Desktop Performance On Your Lap
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard is responsive and tactile, while staying silent. The key travel is pleasing to the touch and there is a tactile bump to accentuate keypresses. The trackpad is large and responsive, but the loud click sound can be annoying. The screen leaves a little to be desired with the monitor maxing out at 1080p, however the 144hz refresh rate results in silky smooth movement of windows and seamless gameplay. Brightness is more than enough for indoor use, but falters a bit if in bright sunlight. The computer did get a little warm while running benchmarks but never really ramped up the fans to 100%. The only time the computer was obnoxiously loud was during a BIOS update where the default fan speed was 100%. It is good to know that there is that much headroom in cooling available, however it never needed that much cooling either during benchmarks or daily use. This can most likely be attributed to the channels and mesh on the bottom of the laptop. This computer was designed from the chassis in with cooling in mind. The audio at 80% or less shines in clarity and soundstage. I can tell where each instrument is placed as the music plays. Really an outstanding experience for laptop speakers. Above 80% the audio becomes a little tinny and strained, but that is understandable considering the form factor. With headphones the audio is as expected. The laptop is more than capable of running the Sennheiser HD6xx, however it is lacking a little in warmth. Overall a very pleasant listening experience. Weight was somewhat surprising as I felt that something spec-ed like this, and as sturdy as this, would be significantly heavier. I feel like the power brick included with the laptop accounts for a vast amount of the weight in the box. The hinge is adequate, yet there is still a little bit of screen wobble if not used on a solid surface. It does hold its position well, and the viewing angles are outstanding. In regards to ports, there are 3 USB-A and 2 USB-C ports. There is also an ethernet jack as well as a standard size HDMI port. I love that the USB and charging ports are moved to the back of the laptop where they are completely unobtrusive. Bloatware was manageable, though never ideal. I was able to uninstall all the bloatware in less than 30 minutes. This laptop comes with Windows 11 Home, but requires multiple updates to get the system completely up to date (but to be expected with a new computer). Windows 11 is pretty stable and I had no issues running this OS on this computer. All in all, this laptop is a productivity powerhouse while also doing an above average job at gaming. Sure there are some areas that could use improvement, but the plusses far outweigh the negatives resulting in a product that I have no regret recommending. Benchmarking Results: 3D Mark Timespy Score GPU 8459 CPU 9989 - Better than 54% of all results and near the high end for gaming laptops. Cinebench R23 - Scores single thread better than 11700k and multi thread performance on par with i9 9900x. Desktop performance on your lap! PC Mark10 Score 7214 - Better than 93% of results submitted Note: All 3dmark and cpumark benchmarks do not recognize the GPU as it is so new, however the performance has been outstanding. This laptop would be competitive with a super premium desktop computer from 2020. Amazing performance in such a small package.

A high performance workhorse of a laptop. Nice!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I will say I'm a big fan of the AMD Radeon RX 6650M video card for price to performance and what is it capable of delivering. This laptop has 16GB memory and a 1TB SSD inside, so it should be good to go for a while to start with. This is also user upgradeable should the need arise. The ability to perform at high settings is something this laptop can do and will do with MOST games. The 16.1" 144Hz refresh rate 1080p screen looks fantastic. Coupled with what's under the hood, there is no ghosting, screen tearing or other visual issues present. Throw in the anti-glare coating and this is a stunning looking display and on the large size for a laptop. It's also excellent for watching HD videos. Loaded up Steam to play some games and am very impressed. Running popular games like the various Call of Duty games at high settings was no problem. The cooling fan system is a bit different than most gaming laptops. This has what HP refers to as "Omen Tempest Cooling Technology", which features 3 sided venting. It can get a tad loud when the fans kick it up during performance peaks, but it's not that bad. This venting method seems to help a lot with keeping this cooler when things get heated. So overall this laptop has a lot going for it. Not just as a rock solid gaming laptop, but for every day computer use also. Multi-tasking with multiple windows open doesn't seem to bother this system in the least. Stuff like the 720p front facing camera, impressive sound quality for a laptop, RGB backlit keyboard, silky smooth multi-touch touchpad and more. I would certainly recommend this laptop for somebody who puts a premium on performance in games AND general use at a reasonable price.

Fast processor and graphics card, however still HP
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a huge fan of HP computers, especially laptops and I have owned 3 other HP systems in the past and they just don't have the life span of other PC's I have owned including Dell and MAC. I have used a few gaming computers and I am a novice PC gamer, having previously owned an Alienware system. This system is the newer line of HP gaming computers, going head to head with Alienware systems. The thing I liked about this system, it was easy to set up and is compatible with the latest hardware out there, including the Logitech line of external gaming keyboards and mouse devices. It was easy to get this system up and running and I was online and gaming quickly. I was also able to add my XBOX Game Pass membership, which integrates into Windows 11 quickly and is its own application with all the latest games to download. This system has a lot of both memory and healthy battery life to make it a serious competitor to other systems. The 16" beauty of a screen gives you plenty of real estate to view your games in high definition allowing for serious game play. I would highly recommend this system, even though it would not of been my first choice as an HP brand, it still does a good job and is impressive.
