Overpriced for how lousy the mic quality is. Multiple times people told me they couldn't hear me very well. The cooling factor doesn't work well at all. The fabric on the hear pieces are way too big to feel the cool metal.

I bought three of these for my three kids and picked them up August 2020, all three already stopped working - after 5 months for first one and 7 months for the other two. First one the cooling stopped then the mic stopped working. Other two mics stopped working.

Good sound? Check. Comfortable? Big Check! Easy to use? Check. The cooling is different then anything else I've ever used but works well.

I play online games and use the headset for zoom meetings for school. The adjustable flip to mute mic is extremely convenient. Before this product I'd be feeling around for a button or double checking to make sure I'm muted or not muted. Now I can know with confidence and it isn't a concern. The sound quality is great and the headphones fit very comfortably over the ears.

    A Nice Headset

I've had my share of gaming headsets ranging from a budget set to those who cost as much as this HP Omen set. Overall, there was nothing about this HP unit that was better in use than any competitor in the same price range. What I did note is that I was able to fine tune this HP unit a bit more to my tastes than competitive units that I have. The overall question is this fine tuning capability enough to choose this unit over competitors? Disclosure: I downloaded the Omen Command Center (OCC) on a computer that did not have it (a non-gaming computer) and then used this headset on an HP Omen Gaming Tower that already had the OCC installed for other devices. I used this headset for gaming as well as using to make telephone calls (so I don't have to hold the phone against my face. The headset is added to the computer(s) through a USB connection rather than the usual audio 35 mm connector. The cording from the usb to the headset was a woven type and not just some cheap rubber/plastic exterior. Gaming tower experience - already installed OCC and the new headset was instantly detected and easily accessible through the OCC where I could change the color of the RGB lighting on the ear cups and I could easily go to the 10 channel adjustments on sound. The "cooling" feature of this headset was easily adjusted. Non-Gaming Laptop experience. The headset was usable right out of the box and functioned just fine in hearing sound and using the mic. The adjustments to any of the settings was not able to be done and knowing about the OCC from the Gaming Tower made me download it from HP and installed to maximize fine tuning of the headset. The OCC functioned just as well on the non-gaming laptop as it did in HP's Omen Gaming Tower. Use and comfort. Yes, this headset is fairly heavy compared to others. I was afraid that this weight was going to be a detraction from using the headset over a long period. I set out to do a two hour session wearing this to play games and found that after a few minutes, the weight seemed to melt away and became no issue in comfort. This headset also has a band that allows the headset to rest upon your head instead of the usual headset frame. I found this extra band to be comfortable. Cooling? What I am still wondering about is whether there is any benefit from the cooling aspect of this headset. I made sure that in testing this on both the gaming tower and the laptop that I adjusted the cooling to max cooling. The gaming tower experience playing a game for two hours didn't leave my ears noticeably any cooler than in other headsets I've worn, but my ears also weren't as sweaty compared to non-cooler headsets that had full over the ear covers. My experience wasn't in cooling as it was in less sweat, and the exterior of the headset was warmer than the cup inside. Maybe my ears don't detect cooling differences like some, but i did notice a difference in sweat in the HP Omen headset. That alone would have me buy these over competitors. On the non-gaming laptop I tested this using Microsoft's My Phone app where my android phone is sync'd to the pc and I made a nearly two hour phone call wearing the headset. I've been doing this with various other headsets over the past year when the phone app became available and the remarks from the person on the other end who hears me using the headset was a better performance than other headsets. I also was appreciative of the longer usb cord than the usual 35 mm audio jack - and there was no hum that passed through this headset that happens with some of the other competitors. Comfort was equal to my gaming experience and there was no ear sweat using this headset unlike some of the others. I was not able to notice any "cooling" - but there was noticeable difference in HP's headset with regard to sweat. None in the HP, some in the others regardless of which I've used. RECOMMENDATION: This will be my daily headset from now on - the comfort is there, the elimination of sweat is a big plus, the ability to fine tune is superior to anything I've seen. And there is a sweet adjustment in the music playing that changes based upon what type of music/sound you are listening too. I did find a sweet spot adjustment just in choosing a preset that worked for me. You could alternatively fine tune by playing with the 10 bands on a manual basis. I endorse this product over others in a similar price point based solely upon comfort and ability to adjust the sounds. While the overall sound output may or may not be better than other units, the ability to adjust is superb. Overall build quality is better than other competitors. Please note: Unpacking the headset is tedious. Wire twists are used extensively securing the headset to the fancy packing. Allow 5 minutes to find all the secure points. After that, this unit is a joy.

Inside the box you'll find your manuals and just the headset. It is powered by USB so you don't have to worry about a 3.5 jack if your computer doesn't have one. Pretty long Braided cable as well so you shouldn't have any issues coming from your tower or laptop no matter what you're using it on. It mic mutes when you have it up and turns on when you bring it down. Other wise this headset is pretty simple and does the job for the price.

This headset is great. Very light, perfect for marathon gaming sessions. Parts of it light up, seems kind of dumb and probably just added to the cost but the build and sound quality are excellent. I wish I could use this on consoles but it is PC only.

Stopped working, was decent while it lasted

Got this for 50 bucks a bit over a year ago. Would never spend a penny more on these. The headset died two weeks ago - just doesn't work on any device. Before then it'd had connectivity issues and the like. I'm by no means the only person reporting this - I searched online and there are many others who encountered the same issue. For anyone looking for headphones to last you a long time, look elsewhere. Only giving them 2 stars because when they did work they were pretty good - the mic functionality is great and they sit okay. Super heavy and bulky though. The omen software is bad and doesn't work well with the ear cooling, which frankly doesn't work too well. I wear glasses, which shouldn't be related to cooling but might be as it made the headset fit worse.

These headphones are great, I've used them for over a year and they are still working fine, They are pricy but last a long time and have great sound quality. My favorite thing is the cooling feature in the ear because most over ear headphones would make my ears really hot.

Wish They Had Been More Durable

The HP Omen Mindframe headset was the first gaming headset that I purchased. What really jumped out to me when deciding to purchase the headset was the active cooling feature. I'll admit, I was skeptical about this technology because none of the other big name gaming headset companies seemed to have active cooling on any of their headsets. I figured why not try it out. After wearing for a full gaming session, I was shocked at how awesome the active cooling feature was at keeping the ear cups cool, and as a result my ears were cool too. Sound quality is great. The ear cups fit comfortably on me and I have a little bit larger than average ears. I liked how the mic could be muted just by flipping it up but here is where the problems with the Mindframe headset started. One would think that the mute feature of the mic would mean the mic is put through exhaustive product testing where the mic boom is moved up and down until it breaks. Unfortunately for me, my mic stopped functioning properly about 1 month after the warranty period expired. At first, I was able to mess around with the position of the mic to get it to work. This would only be a temporary fix. While playing games and chat with friends through Discord, they would tell me I either sound like I am talking through a pillow or they couldn't hear me and would just hear loud static. Needless to say, this made it from a gaming headset to just a set of headphones. Because of their short lifespan, I would not recommend these to anyone in the market for a gaming headset.

Microphone quality slowly deteriorated to the point where it is not usable, had it for a year. For the price, I feel it should last longer.
