Amazing monitor for the price.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is great for gaming, and it looks great while watching videos or just browsing the web. I wouldn't have guessed its built on a TN panel, the colors are full and very vibrant, the picture on this monitor is very bright and crisp. The 240 hz refresh rate is stunning when you can hit it, a lot of people say you can't tell the difference between higher refresh rates and 60 hz, but as soon as you go over 60 hz everything gets as smooth as butter, and there is practically no stuttering or tearing at all while gaming. The joystick on the rear of the monitor makes it very easy to look through the settings. There is a built in fps counter that works great, and a built in crosshair that you can move around. The stand is actually very sturdy for being so thin, which was very surprising. And, there is a headset rest on the top of the stand! The light on the bottom of the monitor can be turned off, and you can change the colors, brightness, and lighting effect. The picture on this monitor looks great straight out of the box, though you may want to calibrate the gamma a little bit. Other than that, if you turn on the dynamic contrast it automatically sets the brightness (and, of course the contrast) and it looks beautiful. This monitor features g-sync and freesync, but I would recommend leaving g-sync off as it causes everything to become very grainy when moving the camera around. There is also a usb passthrough cable included so you can plug stuff into the bottom of the monitor, which came in handy for me when using my akai mpk mini keyboard, as the usb is very short. Best picture I've seen on a gaming monitor, easiest to use in the settings, great features for a monitor, and a great price for everything included. 10/10, would recommend to anyone looking for a better picture, and to game at extreme refresh rates.

This Monitor Packs a Nice Punch For Its Size
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP has come out with their new 25" OMEN gaming monitor with G-Sync/Freesync technology. The monitor has some great features while remaining at a price point that most gamers might like. The package comes with the monitor, HDMI cable, VESA adapter plate (w/screws), DisplayPort cable, USB 3.0 to Micro-USB Type B cable, power cord with transformer (brick), and some paperwork. PROS: ----------- * The look of the overall apparatus is exceptional. The ability to create your own light color and pattern on the OMEN logo on the base is pretty cool. * Ability to hang headphones behind the screen on a built-in stand. This is a good feature; however keep in mind that if you have padding on the top of the inside of your headphones, it may get mis-shapened from the square hanging spot on the monitor stand. * It's fast and seamless with G-sync/freesync on. 1080p gaming is nothing with this monitor. It doesn't miss a beat. I usually play Fortnite and Grid 2 along with a few other games on the Steam network. The monitor communicates with my tower and never has skipping or lag issues. * Moving the monitor up and down can be done with ease. * It comes with a VESA adapter (which I don't need) which can come in handy in some scenarios when those apparatus are used. * The monitor has an abundance of inputs and additions on the back (2 HDMI, 1 DisplayPort, 2 USB, USB Type-B, and portable lock hole). The USB come in handy for other peripherals that you may need quick access to and don't want to run cables to the PC. * Wire management placeholders on the back. As simple as that is, some monitors still don't come with wire management. Nice addition. * Screen is anti-glare and works well. CONS: ----------- * There is no rotating the monitor left/right or from landscape to portrait orientation. The unit can be tilted forwards/backwards and raised up/down. * The power button is on the back right side with function knob. It's in a bit of a hard-to-reach place if the right side of your monitor is placed next to something. The bottom of the monitor would be preferable. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ------------------------------------- * The monitor does not support 4K or HDR; however, the speed of the monitor is what drives this product. For a 25-inch monitor, it will be difficult to be able to tell 1080p from 2K from 4K by the human eye. HP got it right by keeping the cost down and concentrating on a high refresh rate and minimal response time. * There are no speakers built-in, but are you really going to game with monitor speakers? * The monitor screen extends to the edge of the bezel; however viewable screen is still about a quarter of an inch from the edge, so there is still a black frame seen between the viewable screen and edge of monitor. * I have read that the monitor settings can also be adjusted via HP program running on the PC it's connected to via USB type B cable. I have not tried that; however, if that works, that would be a huge plus rather than having to deal with the one button control on the back side. CONCLUSION: ============== For monitors in this size category, refresh rate, mechanical features, and ease of use are my most important issues. 4K/HDR can be left for much bigger screens/TVs as the human eye can barely decipher between them at this size. With the height of the monitor able to be adjusted, that's a big "plus" as I have a BT speaker that I place just below it. Without that adjustment, I would be forced to use another sound source. With the fast refresh rate and G-sync, this is one of the best buys at this price point. If you're short on space, this may be the perfect monitor for you. It packs a nice punch.

Awesome Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very impressed when I turned on this monitor and started streaming. If you’re looking for something that performs great out of the box, then this is perfect for you. It offers FreeSync, which will help gamers keep everything smooth. The design is pretty cool and not a boring traditional monitor. Pros: Great Size for gaming Graphics 240 Hz refresh rate (must set it to this) Crisp Images (both gaming and movie) 2 HDMI ports Antiglare FreeSync Cons: Not 4K Doesn’t Swivel left and right Heavy No Built in speakers Overall: This is an outstanding monitor at this price. Seriously, I was surprised to experience these specs with this price tag. If you’re a gamer looking for a great refresh rate and no lag, then this is a great monitor. Even though it doesn’t support 4K, gamers will still be happy. We sit close when it comes to gaming, so really it’s not a deal breaker. If you want something 4K, I’m sure you’ll want a larger TV. The room I have this in doesn’t get too bright, but the antiglare worked far better than I anticipated. I traditionally disable this feature, but I might keep it activated. I highly recommend this!

Beautiful Display with Gaming in Mind
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Omen Monitor by HP does not only look amazing while gaming, it has been built to accommodate the gamer with added functionality without going overboard with the design. When looking at some gaming monitor designs, you get some sports car looking stands or bezels, that try and scream performance. With this latest addition, it is very simple and modern. You get a nearly bezel free design and a diamond shaped base that would fit in to any room without being too flashy. There is a light on the bottom of the monitor that will illuminate the base without being too flashy, you can change the color to your liking or simply turn it off. The addition of a headphone jack and two USBs on the back of the monitor is very useful, they are however on the backside of the screen, so depending on layout you may not want to use these all of the time, however they can be great for any devices you may keep on your desk. I've been keeping this monitor in Gaming presets, I spent time between Gears of War 4, The Division 2, Apex, Moonlighter and Final Fantasy XIV. Everything I played looked very crisp, plus colors and contract looked great also. I did not try to tweak too much as from my experience, the gaming modes change a few variables for you to get the best experience. Back to picture, Paired with the GTX 1660Ti, everything needed was installed automatically upon detection and the G-Sync feature was turned on. My gaming experience was wonderful, I did not experience any screen tearing and everything fluid while playing very action oriented games. This monitor makes me excited and I look forward to playing some of the upcoming games,on this display! It may not be a 4K screen, but that will not detour you in the slightest, the refresh rate, response time and overall experience you get from the tech in this monitor are well worth it! As mentioned before, this is a beautifully designed screen with many features that can be useful for the consumer. One I did not mention before, but included a photo, is the headset holder built onto the stand. I like to keep my headset here and easily grab it when joining a gaming session online with friends. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a gaming monitor give this consideration when buying!

Great monitor, worth the money I think.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Omen X 25f monitor has a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, great viewing angles, and a stand that is very solid and allows for great adjustment of the monitor. It will adjust vertically about 8 or so inches and also tilts to accommodate nearly any position needed for comfort. On the back there are 2 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort inputs for you to use. They are positioned vertically and are a little challenging to access unless you can get behind the monitor. There are also some USB ports and a headphone port on the back. It does require a power adapter which I was a little disappointed by. My other disappointment with this is the menu button is a joystick type button on the back along with the power button, they are difficult to use and don’t seem to be that responsive when I try to make settings changes. As a result, I just leave the monitor on all the time now. The monitor mount is heavy and well built, it has a bracket at the top to hold your gaming headphones and I find it to work well, unless you have the monitor all the way up, then your headphones will be a little harder to reach, but it is a nice place to store them so they aren’t just laying around on your desktop. This monitor has AMD FreeSync (which I was not able to test out) and NVIDIA G-Sync technologies which paired perfectly with my HP Omen gaming desktop PC that has a NVIDIA card inside. Games were clear and even with the fast motion cut scenes I did not notice any ghosting or lag of any sort. The picture was bright, clear and beautiful. My wife even commented on how gorgeous the video was. I feel this monitor will make me a slightly better gamer now, but I am sure I will still die a lot in Call of Duty battles. I don’t think I have even come close to what this monitor can handle, but it has impressed me a great deal. My only other gripe with this is that I wish it was bigger, but my previous monitor was a 27” HP and going down to a 25” was hard to do, but the much better specs of this monitor will make up for the size difference and I am sure I won’t even notice the difference.

Beautiful monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good monitor in mine perspective. Omen logo on stand base it's nice touch but not the only one that is sticking out, there is a headphone hook on the top of the stand right behind the screen - which I am pleasantly surprised about, and red omen logo on the back of the screen. Screen has everything you need to enjoy HD picture quality for your games or videos, 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, full hd 1080p (g-sync and free sync compatible), 1 DisplayPort, 2 HDMI connectors, 2 USB, 1 USB B and audio jack. Few things got my attention, frame less screen, good brightness level (i like bright screens) and color changing led light on the bottom of the screen which can be turned off. Menu options are super rich with bunch of settings, options and adjustment to make your user experience pleasant as possible. Monitor can be raised or lowered because of adjustable stand and it can be titled backward or forward, only option that seems to be missing is rotation itself. Power button is hidden on the back of the screen which makes it hard for little kids to mess it around, which is another great thing about this product. Antiglare screen works better than expected, my brightness is set to 50% only and there is a big window behind my back and right now while I am writing this sun is shinning directly on the screen itself - I have no problem to use it. Pros: Picture quality Response time Antiglare Lots of connectors/ports Frame less screen Rich menu options Adjustable heights Cons: Screen rotation option would be nice

Sturdy, Thin and Bright
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is a great asset to have that pairs nicely with any gaming PC you might have. There are a couple of features that really highlight the attractiveness of this screen. First of all, monitor is very sturdy for how thin it is. I set it up to be connected to my gaming computer and was very impressed and surprised with how thin and yet strong the build was. The monitor it self only measures a touch under an inch thick, which adds the the sleek design. Another great feature that i like about this LED monitor is how much light it actually pumps out. It can push out some very light colors compared the my past monitors. All in all, I would highly recommend this monitor due the the thin, yet sturdy build and its ability to produce a wide array of bright colors.

Overall a good monitor, not great
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first “gaming” emphasized monitor. Compared to what’s out on the market, other monitors prices and features, this HP Omen monitor is not all that special or cutting edge, but it gets the job done. The 240Hz is nice, but outside of that it’s fairly basic. With the extra frequency, you trade screen size and resolution on this monitor (compared to 144Hz, 27” standard that is the “sweet spot”) - and I’m honestly not so sure this monitor makes it worth it. Display quality: 7/10. There are only two USB ports (a third would’ve been nice), the stand base is a weirdly shaped diamond, like the logo, which unfortunately awkwardly blocks my desk hole meant for cables to come through the bottom. At least it does have a little rectangular slot in the back to force cables through, which is somewhat nice although it is very simple. The monitor doesn’t have anything more than just basic movement, up and down, tilt up down, but no tilt left or right. Physical aspects: 7/10. The RGB lighting is very basic, and compared to Razer or others it’s very lackluster. There’s only a few colors and the cycling is not impressive (also not sure if there’s a way to link a color to a game?) but at least it’s there. Exterior lighting: 5/10. The Omen software was okay but I haven’t found much of a need to use it or open any of my games from it. The monitor also has a frame rate counter, but again I don’t find much use for that either since I have plenty of other programs to do that. Software 7/10. Overall, unless you’re dead set on 240Hz, or die-hard HP Omen setup, or unless this goes mega on sale, I would recommend looking into other competitor monitors.

Insane difference
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TN panels will always be faster for pixel transitions than IPS panels. Going from 144hz to 240hz is definitely a perceivable difference in terms of motion blur. This clarity allows me to snap to things and be a lot more responsive such a huge difference. The resolution of the monitor is pretty low for a 2019 and the 24.5" size is pushing that resolution a little. I do notice more pixelation on finer details of graphics than with a 2k monitor (this monitor is 1920x1080 instead of 2560x1440) but I bought this for speed and not purely graphic performance. There is a 2k resolution version of this monitor with the same refresh rate omen 27 that retails for $200 more. I decided for the smaller screen and resolution because it's easier for a computer to get a higher frame rate when the graphics card has to product a smaller resolution - less pixels. It is vital that the computer can output the speed of the game to match the speed of the monitor. I also wanted a smaller screen instead of a 27" monitor because it's easier on my peripheral vision seeing things out of the corners of my eyes easier than a bigger stretched screen. The color on this monitor is pretty good for a TN panel these panels have come really far in terms of color accuracy. The panel by default is a little heavy on the green color tones but can be fully customized. I keep the image on standard and lower the green tones till I hit a 6500k color temperature. Basically this monitor is definitely worth the upgrade even if you currently have 144hz. If you value graphics + Speed buy the Omen X 27 instead. If you value color and graphics than buy an IPS panel screen instead of a TN panel at the cost responsiveness. This monitor tested to have some of the lowest input lag of all the 240hz monitors on the market.

||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this monitor provides everything that it describes and can handle fps very well. there is no overshoot that is super bad and ghosting very negligible. if you want this monitor for gaming with a very high refresh rate then this will do it for you. if you want a monitor that provides the best colors and if you need it for art or anything where color is really important then you will have to look somewhere else.

I was gaming on 27" 1440p 144hz 1ms monitor and thought I was stepping down to get 240. I was surprise by the quality of the picture but was hooked on how smooth this is. Won't go back
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An update, I liked my first monitor so much that I just bought another one. I can't believe how bad my old monitor, the Acer XG270HU, was compared to this one. These are the best monitors I've used in terms of eye strain and usability while still producing pleasing colors. The high resolution, high refresh rate, and semi-gloss coating along with TN like symptoms that are on the minimum (and I personally don't notice after adjusting it), mixed with a great price make this impossible to beat. Semi gloss is very pleasing to look at. I am happier with this monitor than monitors costing over twice as much. It's perfect for me, personally, and my own use cases, hopefully my review helps someone get a great experience from theirs too. That all being said, I'm seriously considering purchasing two more for my work office space. I think they're that good!

Gaming at it's best
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The monitor is awesome. Worth the money if you have the gpu to push the fps. Also a solid purchase incase you're upgrading sometime soon. Only thing is best buy needs to redo it's demo. The store I went to had it on the demo mode but it was via HDMI...... Why do that???? Get it hooked up to a gaming PC and show off it's frame rates. I was honestly mad at the time because the salesman I talked to said just return it if it's not up to par. I get that but come on it takes all of a few seconds to hook it up right. Best buy should really focus on their gaming set ups.
