Replaced a $9 old school optical mouse. Never realized how inefficient the old mouse was! Played 2 hours of Doom and Guildwars and this mouse made a huge difference. Insanely precise and comfortable, this mouse works great for your raid campaigns as well as maneuvering a spreadsheet. With a metal spring coil cord and solid construction, this mouse feels like products used to feel: quality and value. HP really took the customer to heart. I highly recommend this!

The Omen Reactor mouse looks awesome, has a height-adjustable body to accommodate different hand sizes and provides great user ergonomics. It is visually appealing and is a great accompaniment to the Omen Sequencer keyboard. The thumb rest worked great for me. It has an aluminum armor clad USB cable that looks and feels indestructible and also has the same type of optical-mechanical switches as the Sequencer keyboard. Attention to detail is great.

I have tested out other "High-end" gaming mouse(s?) and at the price point this one definitely competes with those within and outside of its price point. I have been playing COD BO4 (amongst others) and this mouse works. By works, I mean there is not a competitive edge that I have shorted myself by using it. The mouse is well built and has a cheeky ergonomic palm rest that really feels great. At first, I thought it was a novelty until I spent hours on and found myself adjusting during game play to suit and I do believe it helps with hand fatigue (yes gamers get weird little aches from the stresses we put our hands through). The mouse has a ton of options (which you might not find in others at this price point) through the app (MUST have windows 10 - BOOOOOO) but still cool nonetheless. The mouse changes color (again adjustable to your liking) and the cord is like an electrical conduit cable (metallic and solid) which makes it sit nicely on your desk (this mouse DOES NOT have a wireless option). All in All, it is a mouse and does good mouse jobs as you would expect but this one stands out because it feels great, the response time is PERFECT, and she is pretty! I have several but have stuck with this Omen Reactor as of late.

So much potential let down by bad software

I really had high hopes for this HP Omen Reactor Mouse. The fact it has optical switches means it's technically far superior to any mechanical based mouse. It also has a cable that is metal braided - so it will never snag, fray or twist. It's also got adjustable ergonomics, you can use a switch on the right hand side and the built in spring lets you get the right palm height adjustment. The mouse has 2 additional buttons for macros (not counting the left, right and scroll wheel that can double as a button, for 5 buttons total). Unfortunately, the Omen Reactor mouse is let down by terrible software and even worse support. The HP Omen Command Software is terrible. Word of warning, you can only download it from the Windows Store. I spent several hours trying to get macros working on the two supported macro buttons without success. Not even complicated macros, just as shortcuts for a keyboard command in a game e.g. R. Hours of fruitless trying, resetting, uninstalling drivers in device manager, restarting. No luck. The HP Omen Software also crashed repeatedly every step of the way. After a full wasted day, decided maybe I just had a faulty mouse so called HP support to see about warranty repairs/replacements. Was transferred several times by agents who kept saying "oh, you need to talk to this department" until I finally someone who claimed to be the HP Omen support person. They didn't seem to even know the mouse existed. After repeating everything I have tried, they then said I would get a warranty replacement. Honestly, I don't think it's worth the effort to replace. Positives. The normal mouse buttons are fine, DPI is incredible, backlighting is almost infinite and it's a comfortable, lightweight mouse. But without being able to use the macros, or the additional buttons - it's not really a gaming mouse. And the Omen software is a huge let down.

I must say that I have never used a gaming mouse before. The Omen Reactor is my first. Let me just say that I love the wight of the mouse, as well as the adjustable palm rest. Having programmable buttons is nice too, even when you are not playing games. You can use them as "hot keys" in your business apps. I find this quite useful for emails. Playing games, I compared the HP Omen with my old wireless mouse, and the performance is amazing. The precision of my movements were noticeable in a way that I didn't think was possible. This mouse will definitely increase my PC gaming time, as I'm sure it will take me away from my Xbox One.

Performance-wise this mouse is more than solid. For it's MSRP (even more so at the time of this review as it's on sale) it would make for a great gaming mouse for someone just getting into the hobby without wanting to step up to the $100+ offerings. Pros: - quick response - adjustable palm rest - immediate DPI adjustment (button below scroll wheel -- at this price-point that's a nice feature) - wire sheath has a nice "metallic" finish to it which allows it to roll off just about every surface. This keeps it from snagging/catching -- another nice touch at this price point. Cons: - it's too light (for the price, it's not bad, but compared to a G900 or even a G502 the OMEN feels like a feather) Really, that's about it. It's simply too light. There isn't anything else about this that bothers me after using it for ~2 weeks. Bottom line; If you are in the market for a solid wired gaming (or even everyday work/casual) mouse, this will easily fit the bill.

This mouse is by far the best gaming mouse I have ever used. It can be used on nearly any surface I have tried it on and it's very easy to begin to use without much of a learning curve. The vibrant red icon is a great addition especially if you have a beautiful OMEN keyboard to go with it. If you are a gamer this is the mouse for you!

I have been using this mouse for a couple of weeks and figured I had enough experience now to post my review. The packaging the mouse comes in is somewhere between a microwave dinner box and a fancy USB cable. I suppose it did arrive undamaged, but the box was a bit bent out of shape because of the thin card the walls of the box are made of. Inside the box it was pretty bare bones too. It was just the mouse, warranty info and a sticker. But the box felt heavier than just those items, and I will get to why. The mouse itself feels a bit light. Lighter than my DeathAdder I had been using previously. But the part that shocked me, and the reason the box felt heavier, was the cord. The weight comes from the metal cord. This isn't just your usual metal braid either. Honestly, it's hard to describe, but it's almost as if there was a fine spiral of metal wound around the cord. Almost like it was one of those hollow necklace chains that has plenty of flex to it. This makes the cord heavy, heavier than you expect. The weight of the cord isn't all bad but compared to the mouse, they seem out of balance. When plugging in the mouse the imbalance of the weights became apparent very quickly, as the heavy cord was plugged in to my computer, the cord started pulling the mouse off the desk just by the sheer weight of the cable. I had to fiddle around with how to prevent this from happening and ended up leaving a large portion of the cord coiled up on my desktop like snake. Not very pretty, but whatever it works I suppose. Loner term I might attach the cord to my desk via a hook or something. I think there is some software you can use to control the mouse, but I am not a fan of mouse software, so I ran with this in Plug-n-Play. You can adjust the DPI via a button on top of the mouse, just below the scroll wheel. They have a decoder chart as to what color is what DPI, so as you press the button you can know what you are selecting. But you will need that chart if you like to swap it up because the colors are not super clear. I was thinking "Hmm is this violet, or purple?" I had to cycle through the colors a few times to truly see the difference in the colors. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT BIT I also initially felt that the mouse was a little sticky on my mouse pad. Well come to find out a week later there is a film on the mouse feet! There was not any mention of this in the documentation. ONCE THE PLASTIC WAS REMOVED... Besides feeling like an idiot, this mouse glides like butter! The adjustable body takes some fiddling with to get it right. The mechanism feels pretty cheap (mostly because of the lightweight mouse body) but stood up to my messing with it. Once you get it right, you will not want to touch the latch since the mechanism is spring loaded. Overall this mouse is alright. It does the job, if not a little imbalanced. Personally I will probably swap back to my DeathAdder soon.

If you're looking for a budget gaming mouse that has pretty good functionality, this might be the mouse for you! One of the best things that I like about this product is that it has a good feel to it, and it can be adjust to fit your palm/hand more comfortably. The RGB is also nice. Compared to other mouses, perhaps there could have been a couple more buttons and features (such as being able to cycle through DPI settings/profiles), but then you're likely raising the price and you would probably consider various other options. I also wish there was a bit more weight to it, and a more "quality" feel to it. All in all, it's not a bad mouse, but certainly not one I would recommend for gaming purposes.

This mouse feels great and moves great. When unboxing the mouse, I instantly plugged it in and it registered with the Omen Command Center. You can customize the colors, keys, and sensitivity (DPI) to anything you want. I really appreciate the thumb rest and customization of the palm rest. A few downsides of the mouse is that it comes with a metal cable which hangs if your desk comes with a keyboard shelf. I guess the durability of the cable is nice but I would like to see if they could make it wireless in the future. Another issue is programming the Macros in the mouse, it's very difficult and I still can't get the hang of it. Overall, a great mouse!
