Not a professional, just a normal user's experience. I heard some negative things about it so when I purchased it honestly I was scared. However, after using it for ten days, I realized that everything was actually pretty good. There was a discount on the purchase, so I think the price was fine for me. Here are my needs and what I've experienced: For games, I only need medium quality graphics for the game. Under performance mode, all of the games I've played have been very smooth. It doesn't get very hot and the cooling system is great. The fan noise is acceptable. For work and study outside, this is just the right size to take on the go, battery life is average. I usually take the charger with me because it's not heavy, and the size is acceptable. When I don't have the charger with me, the performance is very adequate for studying and working. For gaming, the battery drops fast. Compare this to ASUS Zephyrus G14(2024), I think G14 is a better choice unless you care about the price and noise. They both have impressive design and similar price. G14 has better performance, and speakers are amazing and much better than this. However, the price and the annoying sound made me return the G14 in favor of the HP. Price is the main thing for me, G14 is a bit overpriced for a similar performance gaming laptop without a discount. Also, the high pitched fan noise when playing games is annoying me. I am not a fan of headphone, and the noise is harsh and i feel really uncomfortable. I love the amazing speaker but sometimes covered by the high pitched fan sound, and it is not acceptable for me. Overall, to me, the omen transcend 14 is more silent and cool, the performance is not bad, and the price with discount is acceptable. I would recommend it.

I hate to be that guy but I'ma have to be that guy regarding this amazing device that I bought for 2,000 dollars. I love it and I am sure you will love it as well if you're a fan of tech. Beautiful screen. Long battery life. Ultra core 9 CPU and RTX 4070 GPU. 32 gb RAM. Although this device seems to be the best option at $2,000 dollars it seems like a lot of reviewers are hating on this brilliant device by HP. Don't fall for their bs and try it out yourself. AMAZING speakers by the way. I haven't had this fun with a laptop in such a long time. I guess you can say that this device was only made possible by latest tech in 2024. SAMSUNG charges $3,000 for similar spec laptop ULTRA BOOK 4 with Ultra Core 9 + RTX 4070. I tried that laptop and traded it in for this one and have 0 regrets. Too bad the media has already spun the narrative on this device like its a dud but I promise you they trippin. Thank you HP for creating such an awesome computing experience. Great for music production especially. Way faster and more versatile than the GALAXY book ULTRA 4 which makes me sad because I am a fan of SAMSUNG but its 16 gb of RAM was really limiting my experience with it. This HP OMEN TRANSCEND is the best bang for your buck for an ULTRA CORE 9 +4070 laptop set up :) CHEERS AND HOPE YOU MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE.

A great laptop, but with really annoying quirks

I purchased this laptop back in March 2024 with the idea of getting a gaming laptop that wasn't the size of a battleship and could be toted around easily. For that, this laptop excels. I know some hardcore gamers have taken issue with the GPU performance since it's only 140W, but I'm able to play all of my favorite games (including recent AAA titles) without issue. The laptop processor and memory performance are excellent as well. The quality of the screen is absolute outstanding. Now for the quirks that make this laptop very annoying to deal with. None of them are dealbreakers, but when you're paying for a top of the line laptop, you expect top of the line performance. First, for whatever reason, this laptop absolutely refuses to connect to a portable USB-C monitor. I've tried multiple USB C cables, multiple portable monitors, and even tried a fresh install of Windows 11 to see if this was a driver issue. Nothing works. I've spent hours with folks at HP Support and they can't figure out why this laptop won't connect to a portable monitor via USB-C. I have to connect a second HDMI to mini-HDMI cable to utilize the second monitor. I works as a work around, but I really shouldn't need a work around with this laptop. It's supposed to be one of the best laptops HP makes. The second issue that I have is with HP Support itself. If you have a problem with their equipment, there is a BUNCH of steps and programs and diagnostic tools that you have to work with to get things to work right. That is IF they manage to get them to work right. There's my USB-C video connection issue, there was an issue I had with the laptop where it wouldn't install the 24H2 update of Windows 11 because the system partition was out of space (even though the partition is the same size on my desktop and it installed 24H2 without issue) and won't update the BIOS for the same reason. Nobody at HP could figure out why these issues were occurring. This laptop has the potential to be an absolute fantastic gaming-on-the-go laptop with a beautiful screen and excellent specs at least on paper. I can't recommend it however, as these annoying issues keep cropping up and can't seem to be addressed by HP.

Good but not perfect. The laptop has a great build, thin and sturdy. Good keyboard layout and spacing (RGB looks really good on this). However, there are drawbacks, when compared to similar spec laptop this one underperformed, sometimes it would lag, sometimes it would buffer or even crash. This seems common for HP laptops in my experience, could be because of lower wattage GPU or because of airflow issues (overheating) since they are packing all these specs in a very small footprint. Not great for me but maybe it is for someone that needs portability with the occasional need in performance.

Unfortunately for HP, underpowering the GPU and not matching the ASUS G14s sound capabilities make this laptop a good, not great option in the 14" gaming space. The build quality is there, and the keyboard is better than the G14s in my opinion, but the overall quality of the G14 in concert withe sound system and the 90W GPU vs the 50W in this HP laptop mean that the Zephyrus is going to mop the floor with the HP in benchmark tests. Really nice laptop, but since it is priced the same as the G14, it's a no brainer for me.

If you have done (even a little bit of) research on laptops based one size you have heard the functionality overall is more poor with a 14 inch vs 15 or 16. The laptops tend to overheat and lack of airflow is not good for performance blah blah blah. AS FAR AS 14 INCH LAPTOPS GO THIS ONE IS THE TOP OF THE MARKET. I feel that it's just the right price where you get fantastic specs (so it performs well enough despite being so small). And it really doesn't get too hot! I like the face scan sign in, I never type my password anymore. Even the keyboard feels nice. Underrated feature the charging port is in the back so you don't have to worry about it being in the way.

Alright so I was torn between this and the G14 but pulled the trigger on this since it was in stock and here's my thoughts. OLED screen is amazing I like the feel of the track pad and keyboard Hinges are a little wobbly but it's HP so I expected that Performance wise it's amazing. The fans are a little loud, again I expected this with HP Temperatures on CPU and GPU are pretty good. Haven't seen my CPU get hotter than 150F Would reccomend

I wanted to like this but like many other reviews point out, the RTX 4070 is so underpowered, it is NOT like the standard RTX 4070 laptop part for gaming. This is really more of a content creator's laptop and not a straight up gaming laptop. Sure, you can play games and the control center for the system is quite nice, but even against the HP Victus with the 4070 the raw performance is better on that unit than this unit. However, if you do content creation, the display is excellent, and it has more than enough horsepower to handle anything thrown at it.

A great laptop for lightweight gaming and it generally runs quiet/cool. Unfortunately, the 4070 in it is forced to run at 50w (with a 15w boost toggle that rarely happens in high-performance scenarios), severely hampering performance. There are 4060 laptops that beat this at far lower price points, making this laptop a questionable buy at $2000 MSRP. My unit also had a build quality issue at the top of the screen where there was minor separation between the screen and back panel whenever I opened the laptop. I think HP has something special here, especially with the aesthetic and screen quality, but there needs to be more refinement. Maybe next years model will be the one to get.

I got the laptop because I needed something for work and gaming. I’m an interior designer and I need a good computer for my work but I also enjoy gaming. I needed something light to carry with me and I believe that this laptop was perfect for the job. Not only is it really fast but very affordable when there’s a sale for this product. The build quality is good and the battery life is good. I overall give this laptop a 5 stars because it’s all all rounded accounted for laptop

For the size of the unit it is surprisingly powerful. Absolutely fantastic image quality. Only downside being that the battery life is somewhat short while playing high end games. But that is to be expected in such a compact unit.

It's a good gaming laptop for its size and weight, and looks great, but I don't think it's worth the price. It doesn't come with too much bloatware, which is nice. The exterior casing is pretty flimsy, mine is dented already (2 weeks in) and I have no idea how. The palm rest and keyboard feel great though. Speakers sound good and the screen looks good. It doesn't run games at amazing quality, but good enough for me. Despite being 5 years newer, having double the RAM, and the brand new "AI" chip, it doesn't seem to run much faster than my last laptop. (i7 8th Gen) I don't recommend this one, the cheap casing and the performance aren't worth this much money.

First thing is that this as an EVO laptop. Meaning that it has great effociency and battery life. The negative reviews of people complaining about the performance dont understand that it has the build quality and screen of an ultraportable with a dedicated GPU that can game. Ultimately it depends on what your looking for. Im a student that likes to game so for me this is perfect!

Context: I am an engineering PhD student. I purchased the OMEN Transcend 14 in July 2024, so I've had it for a couple months now. It's been great at first, but there are some things I did not realize I would be getting into. (1) The device is VERY flexible. A little unnerving. The screen bends so much regardless of open or closed and wabbles back and forth when you move it if open. The hinges are not great. I've never had a laptop like that. (2) I like having a back up charger in my office (or just in general). I could NOT find one on the HP store or Best Buy. I called and worked with different people. Nothing. Not as easy as Apple. I ended up getting a knock off with close parameters on Amazon, but the laptop keeps reminding me to not use the off brand. (3) Recently (this week) my screen has started glitching. Meaning parts of the screen shift left and right. It doesn't happen on my external displays so I'm concerned it might be due to the naturally loose hinges of the laptop. Overall, I have enjoyed it, but not looking forward to the thought that the screen might malfunction on me and I might have to look into repair (can't afford the time) or into a new laptop within a year.

Fantastic little laptop. I game and work so this fit the bill. It does run hot but it has a vaporchamber for cooling and that keeps the parts cool. The display is gorgous and the specs are fantastic. The 4070 does pretty good. Not going to max out every game but it will definitely run every game. Overall, im quite satisfied. Had a few driver issues but adter a couple months, more updates seemed to iron those out.

While the performance is great for what it is. HP should have considered allowing the gpu to run to at least 100 watts in order to get more performance. Additionally, it is very flimsy build, the screen wobbles a lot when compared to my other laptops. The touch pad area is very thing and seems to bend in a lot. You can actually accidentally press down and click the trackpad if you have heavier palms when typing. I will say its saving grace is the fact that under discount, it is cheaper than the g14 from Asus and does have a more sleek aesthetic.

Great HP computer with High Specs. Only problem is the short battery that you can stretch to 7 hours with battery saver. Can play games in high setting and is very light to carry. The only thing that can be improved is the screen as it is 1080p, wish it could have come with a better and higher resolution screen. When on low battery, the screen does buffer, but it goes away when connected. Comes with a 140w charger so it will charge very fast.
