not worth the cost, headache, or time

I bought this computer on sale for $429.99. Originally, I was charged for the wrong computer (a similar model with less ram that costed more), despite saying three times that I specifically wanted the one on sale for $429.99 to the guy running the register and he assured me he had the right one. I had to drive back to best buy to return the wrong one in order for them to order the correct one and refund me. The computer was nice at first, too fancy for my tastes really and the start up was really slow, slower than my older computer that I had for 8 years. It opened browsers fine, didn't encounter much lag online. However I noticed the screen would randomly pixelate and the taskbar would flicker. The Media player wouldn't work at all. I called Best Buy and talked to a Geek Squad member who encouraged me to return it since it was within the 14 days refund period and they would order me a new one since they would just ship it off to be worked on otherwise. So I had to drive back to best buy (again) to return the dud before they could order me a new one. The computer was no longer on sale and the protection plans had changed so they wanted to charge me another $35.00 to make the exchange which quite frankly I thought was crap and just told them I wasn't sure I even wanted to exchange it in that case. A supervisor adjusted the computer price so I wouldn't have to pay more and their system accidentally refunded the whole parts protection plan so they had to re-charge me for the parts plan separately, so they accidentally gave me an extra $30.00 off. The replacement came in the mail 3 days later and I have had nothing but headaches from this thing. It glitched a download for discord and I couldn't get it to install even after deleting all the files and trying to re-download and install. Windows randomly set my resolution to 1024 x 768 despite my optimal resolution being 1600 x 900 (which also wasn't listed in the display settings at all). I updated the video driver since that was a suggestion for fixing the resolution glitch, only for the computer to stop detecting my monitor at all. I couldn't rollback the driver and I tried updating the video driver again and instead of fixing it, it lead the desktop into a loop of trying to boot but being unable to boot correctly so I tried a system restore, which failed, so I ended up having to factory reset. The tower stopped detecting my monitor half way through the re-setup (despite having worked fine the first time and with the previous computer). I got it setup using the hdmi port to my tv and then uploaded the drivers again and the monitor started detecting once again but the resolution was not fixed. It glitched my download for chrome browser so now I can't get the flash to work on any sites despite giving the sites permission to use flash and the browser icon image is just a blank page. Now the tower randomly stops detecting my monitor and I have to reboot the computer for it to register. My screen also randomly has spots that black out (over the scroll bar, task bar, etc). Also program windows freeze up and sometimes I can't get the windows to drag. I've also noticed the keyboard that came with this second computer is not as good as the keyboard that came with the first, as the keys aren't as responsive. This is the worst computer I've ever had. I spent the entire time I've had this second one trying to fix the display issues. I fully intend to return this one and get something not HP nor AMD specific.

    Total Garbage

Graphics card causes problems on Chrome. Couldn't watch videos for long before the whole thing went black, then returned to a green video box that had to be reloaded. But the worst offenders are the 4 back USB 3.1 ports. They constantly disconnect and reconnect. When I tried rearranging what devices were plugged into them, it crashed Windows so bad I had to reinstall Windows. Then reinstall everything I had just finished installing three days prior. Exchanged for a new machine. Same problems. Sent to HP to fix. Returned unfixed. Then they asked to have it sent back to try again. Meaning HP deliberately refused to do everything necessary to fix it. I will never buy HP again. Had problems in the past, but this is the worst. They have not changed at all. Now I have to wait til the end of the year for Black Friday to try again for an affordable computer, because HP cheated me out of a new computer for an entire year with this crudheap.

I am a big HP fan, but I got this computer and the integrated video on the mother board went out after a couple of weeks. Took it back and it was sent off for repair. When I got it back, the screen flashes several times when watching videos, and I am constantly getting a message that there are errors on my external hard drive when I am browsing the web (there is nothing wrong with my external HDD). On the positive side, it does have good speed for processing the various projects that I do for work and personally.

I can barely even us this computer. I have a wireless mouse and keyboard and whether its due to windows 10 or the computer itself the mouse glitches constantly and barely functions. The sound quits randomly forcing reboots. Despite being brand new with nothing but spotify and steam added as additional applications, it still when trying to switch between applications or play music. I should have returned this when I had the chance instead of thinking I could fix it.

Purchased and less than a week later computer began freezing up. Completely unresponsive. Exchanged it for same make and model and it did the same thing. HP unable to determine the cause. Best Buy tech said I was 5th person to return this model to store.
