I will have to say I got this on sale for almost 500 bucks. But even at 600 the pc is way worth it. I am an avid gamer and it runs Anthem on high settings with some stuff tweaked up a bit. So almost on ultra and it runs perfect and looks great. Does all the other day to day stuff without a hitch. So great from office work to evening gaming with AAA title games! Hard to beat for the price without building your own.

Grabbed this desktop for my 10yr old son - wanted to convert to the PC master race from the console plebs. For the price, the core - CPU/RAM/etc are definitely bang for the buck and honestly the Radeon GPU was just icing for the cake. Popped in an SSD to run Windows (should never leave factory installed anything running) and slaved the 2TB mech drive it came with and it was off to the races.

HP - Pavilion Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5-Series - 12GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive. This desktop is above average for it’s price point. It is clean and sleek with good port selection on the front face. The Good. Plenty of ram, HDD space, Processing power, and ports. Front ports are, full size SD card slot, Headset jack, 2 USB 3, 1 USB C, and a DVD drive. Rear ports are 2 USB 2, 4 USB 3, Ethernet jack, VGA, HDMI, Speaker out, Line in, Mic in. It supports full AC Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth and has a great network connection at full speed. It’s price point puts it right on target. The Ryzen 5 2400G chip supports HD video although it reports as a 15DD GPU. No other assignments to the name. I expected it to show as a RX Vega 8 but just shows 15DD. No issue with that, it did full scale 3D without issues. The Not So Good. The power button is almost recessed in the front face. It is hard to press because of it being set so far back, however it does light up when pressed. It has no HDD light, why are manufactures removing this light? It’s full use of the speed of the processor is limited by the HDD. Replacing the HDD with a SSD would really improve the performance of the machine. The power supply is small (wattage and size) for what it is and a standard power supply will not fit. This makes upgrades difficult. The case is wide enough for a standard DVD drive, however they opt for a laptop DVD drive. This makes loading a DVD harder than it should be. I’m willing to look past this because almost all manufactures are starting to do this. The Bad. None really to speak of. It performed as expected it should at this price point. Bottom line. Although I am not an AMD fan I would say this is a good machine for most all of your everyday uses. It’s not a gaming machine, but at half the cost of a gaming machine what should you expect. I'm satisfied with this computer for my needs. I didn't need a high tech or gaming unit, just one to do basic stuff with. Fairly easy setup for a non computer savvy person. Windows 10 is an adjustment but Windows 7 is no longer providing g updates after the first of the year, so I had to upgrade.

    Unexplained blue screens.

I've had this computer for 3 weeks and it's had about 4 blue screens. The system will give a message that an error has occurred and it's collecting data, then it will shutdown and reboot itself. I do a system diagnosis, and it gets stuck when testing the video. Other than that, this computer does everything I need it to do, including video editing. I'm wondering if it's my older monitor, or the firewire card I had installed. The firewire card does a great job of loading video from my camcorder, without dropping frames. The monitor does a good job of displaying videos and DVD's. It does not have an independent video card. The video Is bundled in with the mother board. I'm not a gamer so I'm o.k with that.

Easy to set up and get started using. The one issue is with any new Windows 10 machines and Microsoft is that they default to the Cloud and One Drive. Had to change all that to keep my files local on the machine The desktop works fine and is fast for every day uses (I am not a gamer)

Bought this as a replacement machine for a small office. So far, so good. Was easy to get setup & going. Didn’t seem to have ton of extra fluff on it, but still need to go thru it & get rid of useless programs. Seems to be a lot faster than the previous pc we had. No complaints so far.

12GB RAM is great for what I need it for and nice for light gaming. 1TB hard drive size is more than enough for me. Processor is fast enough. Nice amount of USB ports in front and back. Not sure what I can use the micro USB for but its there when I will need it.

The HP pavilion with a ryzen 5 2500 is a fantastic product. I t has been perfect for college and complex composition of music as my major requires and can even handle light gaming without a hiccup. I highly recommend for anyone who doesn't mind that it's a desktop.

Love our new HP Pavilion Desk Top. It is all it promised to be and more. Love how it connected with my smart phone and added options to my Note 8. So easy to use and so light weight. Love the style, and design not to mention the speed. So glad we purchased.

I’ve only had this computer a few days, but I’ve been using, modifying and fixing PC’s since the days of DOS, so I have a few thoughts. The build is solid, and it’s nicely featured. The nine USB ports including 6 USB 3.1 and a USB C should handle all your device connections. It includes a gigabit wired LAN, WIFI with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac capability and Bluetooth 4.2. Not all computers in this price range include AC wireless and Bluetooth. For video there is a single HDMI port and a VGA. If you want dual monitors, one will need to be connected as a VGA. The front has 3 USB ports, a card reader for all flavors of SD, headphone jack, CD/DVD reader/burner, and of course the power button. The top is flat with no ports or switches. The audio IO jacks are the typical microphone, line in and speaker. It does support Dolby 5.1. Even though it has a Ryzen 5 processor, this computer is really not built for heavy gaming. It uses AMD’s on-board VEGA graphics, and for business and light gaming it’s more than adequate. With a 180w power supply, it doesn’t seen a good candidate for an upgrade to a high power, discrete graphics card. Also, to accommodate the small form factor, the interior isn’t laid out for easy expansion and access. There is an open M.2 slot, so if you want more than the 1TB 7200 rpm HD, that might be an easy way to add a SSD. There is a open SATA port on the motherboard and one spare power connection, so a standard 2 ½” SSD would probably fit. The 12GB of memory is shared with the graphics sub-system and uses both memory slots, so additional memory would mean removing one or both DDR-4 UDIMMS. It will support up to 32GB, but those DIMMS get pricey. I’ve been using a 2560 x 1440 monitor, and it looks great. AMD’s drivers allow for a lot of tweaking if you’re into that. However, I haven’t tried any high frame rate games. From what I know about the VEGA graphics, it will do a decent job at HD, but UHD would push it. I have used Photoshop and Sketchup Pro, and they both ran well. All of the Office Suite programs performed well. This a good home or small office PC. It can handle light gaming, but I wouldn’t buy it for a serious gamer. My home desktop is a 5-6 year old Dell XPS with I7, 8GB, 7200 rpm HD and dedicated graphics. The speed feels comparable. My HP Spectre x360 laptop with I7, 16GB and a SSD blows it away, but it also cost three times as much. This PC is lot of power for the money especially if you catch it on sale. Like: Lots of connectivity. Good WIFI and LAN. Very quiet operation. Small form will fit into small place. Supports high resolution and wide format monitors. Dislikes: Only one HDMI. Hard to add or expand. If you’re going to use it all day, a better keyboard and mouse would be worthwhile.

My old PC was about 5 years old so it was definitely time for an upgrade. I chose this one because I need it to edit 4K video. So far I'm very pleased with my purchase. It handles the large MP4 files perfectly. I also price-matched when the price dropped to $420. This is a steal at that price!

We've used a large variety of PCs in our business, most seemed ok, but we felt we needed more Ram. These hit a nice price point and power needed to do our daily tasks. I recommend these for home or business. Just be prepared to upgrade OS if a business user who needs Domain access.

This desktop is perfect for a beginner to an experienced user. The 12 gig of RAM plus the power of the AMD Ryzen 5 processor gives the computer a lot of speed and will be ready in about 30 seconds after booting. I got this unit on sale which made it an even greater bargain.
