My last pc for life! Fast and Quiet!

The HP Pavilion is fast. It took several days to set up all the settings I wanted (due to Windows 11 program) as didn't want to have to go back and reset. Tried the security program (Trend) that came with it and decided like the Norton I had used on the previous pc better so uninstalled Trend. Also the HP Pavilion is very, very quiet-have to pay attention to my lighted keyboard to know if pc is working as you can't hear it running. Have lots of memory/storage with 1 TB. I read a lot and like to keep books on the pc at times to read again and/or later. Oh btw I got a really good price. Had been watching the site and when it came on sale really took a good look at the benefits. Pays to shop for a while and keep an eye out for a good sale.

    Good office workstation

We've been upgrading our office workstations for a company of under 10 people with these units. The Ryzen 7 combined with the 1TB SSD gives a competent platform for the daily duties in the office at a comfortable price point. I have made the past mistake of trying to get away with $4-500 which tend to be under powered even for simple tasks while running our security camera software (web-based with the demands of bandwidth vs. video sharing with the RAM) but so far 16GB is holding up for daily tasks. I can always add an 8GB video card (<$100) if demand grows. But for now, it works well. The biggest bugaboo with most off-the-shelf brands is uninstalling all the promotional crapware/software BEFORE I put a) mostly an HP) box in service. Then you get to the Microsoft Account headache on everything but that's not HP's fault for that. Take your time and clean her up a bit and she'll run just great in your office.

Compared to my previous custom built computer this is smaller, a lot faster, and quiet. The only thing I don’t like is that this doesn’t have a CD/DVD player so I’m using my old external player. I’m not a fan of anything wireless so I cannot write a review about the keyboard and mouse that came with the computer.

    Upgradable ig

This pc in its stock form is underwhelming. The single channel ram, bad psu, and lack of a dedicated gpu makes it bad for gaming. Good news is, it is upgradable. For the ram, I upgraded to a Crucial 8x2 16 gigabyte 3200 megahertz pc4 25600 memory. I also upgraded to the L05757-800 500w hp power supply which made my gpu upgrade possible. For the gpu, I went with the rtx 3060 ti which is imo the best gpu you can safely put inside this system due to the limited power. You can MAYBE squeeze in a 3070, I but I personally would not risk it. I was worried about thermals, but after a few weeks of heavy usage and gaming, the temps were sustainable. Not ideal, but definitely not near thermal throttling territory. Cpu rarely exceeds 80 degrees Celsius. As for the GPU, it stays in a comfortable 36 - 75 degrees celcius range. Now, you will be far better off buying a prebuilt from a different manufacture for the same price or lower. However, if you already bought the system and don't want to buy a separate gaming pc, these are the best upgrades you can do to get the most performance.

Good price, given the fact that the CPU itself costs $329. And it comes with a onboard graphics, so that you can buy a discrete GPU, when and if they are available in the market again. The 16GB ram runs natively at 3200Mhz with CL22 and is single rank, so not the fastest one out there, but works well. Only one slot is occupied, so you can replace them with faster ones in dual channel mode and probably dual rank ones. All M.2 slots are occupied. One with SSD, and other with Wi-Fi. The M.2 SSD is Intel 660p 1TB, so not the fastest one out there either, but works well. There are 2 free SATA ports if you want to install you own HDDs/SSDs if you want but ironically only one space to hold a 3.5 inch drive. Funny! The USB-C is only 5gbps and with-OUT any HDMI or DP alternate mode support. So that's just useless. Also couldn't find a way to find which front USB ports are 5gbps and which ones are 10gbps. Good luck finding that. HDMI is also only 1.4b you if you are trying to run a 4k display at 60Hz, you WILL be stuck at 30Hz max. Buy you do have the option to run 1440p at 75 Hz and 1080p at 120Hz, I guess. The only way you can get away with this is that you install a new graphics card, as fortunately it has a PCIe 3.0 x16 slot so any new graphics card would do great. It will not bottleneck even your 6900XT or 3080 Ti, if you can find any! The other PCIe 3.0 slot is only x1. And there are no other slots. If and when a thunderbolt card is supported for this B550A motherboard, you would have to decide between graphics card or the thunderbolt card, as there's only two PCIe 3.0 slots and none of those are going to run at x1. Just so you know! I guess, you can use free x1 slot to install another SSD, or other cards such as sound card, network card, port expansion card, etc. Comes with windows 11 Home, good or bad you can decide. Build quality is not very sturdy, and you would have a very annoying sound if the surface it is on has any kind of vibrations. Overall a good buy, if you are looking for a good PC in this chip shortage era.

I wanted an HP and it had to be a desktop, it's just what I prefer. I hadn't bought a brand new in box one for quite a while, have been buy "refurbished" (not always a wise choice) - This is my first Windows 11 - and I think I did well. For the money - this HP Pavillion Desktop is making me happy! It does everything I need it to do and then some. EXCELLENT Price! I recommend this even though people told me not to buy it, they were wrong!

I have bought this same desktop twice, one to have in my office and other upstairs in my bedroom, I work and do a lot online and these are probably the best desktops I've had in the 30 years or so I've had a computer. Works fast, reliable, *knock on wood* no issues with either the past couple years I've had them.

The HP Pavilion Desktop with AMD Ryzen 7, 16GB Memory, and 1TB SSD in Natural Silver is a powerful and stylish computing solution. This desktop offers a winning combination of performance and aesthetics. Performance-wise, the AMD Ryzen 7 processor provides snappy responsiveness and handles multitasking with ease. With 16GB of memory, you'll have no trouble running multiple applications simultaneously, making it suitable for both work and entertainment. The inclusion of a 1TB SSD is a game-changer. It ensures speedy boot times and quick access to your files and applications. The ample storage space is perfect for storing your files, media, and games without worrying about running out of space. Design-wise, the Natural Silver finish adds a touch of elegance to any workspace. It's sleek and modern, blending seamlessly with various decors. One potential drawback is the lack of a dedicated graphics card, which may limit its performance for heavy gaming or graphics-intensive tasks. However, for everyday computing, office work, and media consumption, this desktop excels. Overall, the HP Pavilion Desktop with AMD Ryzen 7, 16GB Memory, and 1TB SSD is a solid choice for users seeking a reliable and stylish desktop computer with excellent everyday performance.

I purchased this HP Desktop computer to replace a Dell my household has been using since the early 2000's. I am not a super technical person, and this was extremely easy for me to get set up and working. There are plenty of ports to plug in my printers, scanner, etc, and it looks very sleek sitting on my desk. It's amazingly fast, and I wish I would have purchased one sooner.

I purchase my HP- Pavilion Desktop- AMD Ryzen7- 16GB- Memory 1 TB SSD. January 6th, 2025 and received it on January 12th due to weather. I love my desktop computer for office work causal gaming and flowing through memory lane with all my pictures and videos which you need to buy a HEVC video Extension for $0.99 to play which is not a big deal but an inconvenience. Also my pictures don't fit well for screen backgrounds you have to resize them and I haven't quite figured that step out yet. Overall the computer performance is great. When I was deciding on buying the computer no one could give me a straight answer on whether or not this PC comes with speakers and a eternal WIFI chip It doesn't come with Speakers as none of the towers do it depends on the monitor you buy. However it does come with a built in WIFI chip and I have very slow WIFI but doesn't affect my internet connection everything works well. With all that said, I'm very happy with my purchase.

This desktop is working well for me so far. It has some speed, and lots of ports. It lacks a CD / DVD drive, but these days everything is modular. Windows 11 took some getting used to. Out of the box it decided to move all my stuff to the cloud. I did not want this! I uninstalled the one drive app altogether to fix this. I don't want it back! I do not like Microsoft making such decisions about my data!
