I was not sure what to expect with this computer since it was my first HP and I have always purchased Alienware gaming computers prior to this. After my last Alienware (mini area 51) started crapping out just after the 1 year point I decided that was the last time. I use this computer for gaming and streaming Netflix, etc via my 55 inch TV screen. I have a small issue with losing my sound on hot days but it clears up when I reboot. The power button is a little bit wonky too like it doesn't actually press in and barely sticks out enough to press it but that's just a minor thing. Very rarely I have to press it again because it half comes on (I get a green screen). Overall, pretty happy with it. I am just over 1 year and still very impressed with this desktop for the reasonable price I paid.

I bought this as my first dektop and I am very impressed. I did not believe that it would handle all current games at ultra 1080p. The desktop is great but I was never given a coupon with three free games that it is supposed to come with. Overall, it is great.

Got an awesome deal on this computer. I mostly use it for browsing and email, but i love the fact that it can also play games on high settings. For example, I played Phantom Pain and was able to crank the graphic settings to the max and game played perfectly!

Although this computer is marketed to gamers, I bought it because it has two drives, one of them a solid state drive, which makes start-up times very short. All of my peripherals installed with ease.

This HP gaming CPU has totally surprised me no lagging no glitching and beautiful colors and perfect gaming AMD RYZEN GET my props too as its a fast and efficient processor its worth the money

This was the best computer I've ever had. I got it for mainly gaming and it works well for all the games I wanted to play. Even the high end ones. I highly recommend this one.

There are so many positives to report, I do not think there is enough space. As I mentioned in my title comment, this tower is lighting fast and extremely economical. It replaced a relatively new all-in-one that had many problems.

has all you need for 1080p gaming with ryzen 2400G cpu paired with rx 580 (4g) graphic card. upgraded the 1TB 7200 hd to 1tb ssd (I got for $108 from best buy)

This computer is everything the specs promise and more. I just wish I had done more research first to see if all of my software and printer would work on a new computer, but this computer itself was an excellent value in Dec 2018.

Pre-built ** I'll start with the obvious statement that always manages to come up when talking about pre-built PCs: yes, it's cheaper to build your own gaming PC. Well, usually at least. The day that this review is posted, this system is currently on sale at Best Buy. Prices for PC parts fluctuates every week it seems, but if I were to build a comparable system (and buy a copy of Windows 10 Home), I would save somewhere around $50 (give or take $15 depending on sales). That means that if you're new to PC gaming and don't feel comfortable with building your first system (or you're looking to buy this as a gift for someone), you're paying about $50 for HP to assemble the system for you and include a 1-year warranty; that's a pretty good deal. ** Upgradeability ** I'm quite surprised with what you can upgrade in the new Pavilion gaming tower. If you want to swap out the Ryzen 5 for a 7 later down the road, you can. If you want to go with a different card, you can (just keep in mind that the tower chassis is compact so you'll need a smaller graphics card and the 400W PSU might need to be swapped out too). For memory, the motherboard supports up to 32GB (DDR-2400), but there's only 2 DIMM sockets. The included SSD is an NVMe drive, but it's only 128GB (once NVMe prices come down I'll likely upgrade mine). ** Performance ** There isn't a title out there that this system can't handle. The GPU is the 4GB variant of the 580 and the CPU is a Ryzen 5, so you're better off running your games in 1080p to get the best FPS possible. All of the games I regularly play (World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2, Destiny 2, Skyrim Special Edition with mods, and Fortnite) run smooth and have no problems maintaining 60 FPS with the proper settings. Depending on what games you regurlarly play, having everything on the 7200RPM 1TB HDD is just fine (the loading screens for WoW were long enough to make me move the game over to the SSD). If having an HDD bothers you, prices for SATA III SSDs have really started to drop... -- Bottom Line -- If you're looking to get into PC gaming, but don't feel comfortable building your own system (or you're looking to buy someone a new gaming PC), the new Pavilion gaming desktop is a solid choice for a mid-range system.

It started right up form he box and quickly performed all updates... my son was up and gaming in about 15 minutes! So far he is more than happy with speed and graphics. He also purchased the 27inch HP monitor....looks great!

Just plug and play , excellent graphics, this computer have 2 different graphics card, one internal Vega 11 and another dedicated, AMD Radeon RX 580, given such a power , also you can upgrade de Memory RAM to 32 GB MAx,

I was coming out of a 2008 alien ware that I had upgraded a few times. I was on a budget for a new PC and this HP had everything I wanted and more. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to game but is on a budget.

This PC is pretty decent for the sale price I bought it for ($530) it has no issues running most current games in decent settings. But I bought this as a second Desktop to solely host my VR setup in the Living room. It "works" but you definitely notice a stutter and frame drops while in certain VR games and programs (Beat Saber being one of them). Also noticed that this PC has a hard time noticing sensors and headsets when they are plugged in. Took me 2 hours to get it going. Get this PC if you are playing Non VR games. It's good for that.

I bought this so my wife could play destiny 2 on pc, it was on sale for 470$. I upgraded the ram and it can easily play whatever she wants at 1080p.

For 1080p gaming has all you need 4 core cpu and a amd rx 580 gpu! Did upgrade memory by adding 8gb ddr4 stick for 16gb of ram.

Great purchase. My son needed a desktop as he is getting older and wanted something to play games on. For less than 600 dollars it runs pretty much everything at mid to high settings in 1080p.

Our first one was faulty but Best Buy was hassle free with the enchange. It was hard to get our hands on since it’s so popular. Our 12 year old loves it and has had no issues or lag.
