I bought this laptop to replace the large PC I had during my 4 years I was pursuing my undergraduate degree. I have used it for about a month now in my graduate school program and I am glad I purchased it.
Pros: Lightweight, easy to carry on campus all day. Remains charged for hours, sometimes even days, since I don’t use it for many hours each day. Functions well with numerous tabs opened. Updates install quickly. Ability to switch into tablet mode is great when working on documents with other students and taking notes. Price was reasonable for all the features it provides.
Cons: Windows 10 S mode isn’t practical, especially since my university uses Google Drive and Gmail. However, it is possible to switch to Windows 10 mode and download Google Chrome while still having access to Internet Explorer. Letters on keyboard are beginning to fade already, however, it is a small issue when looking at all the pros of this laptop.

So, I bought this as a cheap Windows PC to run OLD games. Think DOS games, and early Windows 98/XP games -- stuff that ran back when computers had megabytes of ram instead of gigabytes, and megahertz CPUs instead of gigahertz CPUs. And for that it works great. Yea 80s and 90s games. :)
It also is capable of web surfing, playing music/youtube, reading email, and light computer tasks. Don't expect to play modern games or video edit on the thing, but if all you want is a capable small PC for casual use (or ancient gaming), it will do that, and provide a pretty decent overall user experience.
The trackpad is a bit sticky at first (it breaks in with use), and the keyboard is slightly cramped by the small 11.6" form factor (but is actually a pretty decent typing experience considering that). The display is "OK" -- it's not the brightest, and it's only 1366x768, but it is IPS and a touch screen, and the low resolution is less unacceptable on a 11.6" panel anyway. It's not the best kit out there, but it also doesn't cost $2000. I think HP did a pretty good job of navigating a price to benefit ratio here. There are tradeoffs, both in terms of added cost of bare minimum, and in terms of sacrificed features for cost savings, and HP seems to have balanced that pretty well.
I got this when it was on sale for $120 off, so for the price I paid it was a GREAT value. It's not quite the "awesome sauce" value at the normal price of $400, but I'd still say it actually is a step above the stuff that generally sells for less, and probably still a good bang for the buck option even at full price.
Quality: 3/5 -- It's a sub $500 laptop. So it's plastic, and corners are cut. But as plastic corners cut laptops go, it feels like it's "acceptably" constructed.
Value: 4/5 -- At the sale price, this was a 5/5. At regular price you are paying a bit more than the basement level, but you get a acceptably constructed laptop, a quad core pentium, 128GB of SSD storage. It's a little RAM light by modern standards, but 4GB is not bare minimum either. In short it's a good value at base price and a great value on sale.
Ease of Use: 4/5 -- Windows 10 has its quirks, but if you know how to use a PC, there's nothing especially difficult to using this one.

This laptop is a good choice for kids.
The price is just right.
The laptop is easy to carry around, lightweight, and looks awesome. The small size is what my kid loved the most.

The good: compact size is good as my wife likes the smaller screens, good processor speed for everyday use, nice graphics, touch screen is a good feature.
The bad: only 4GB of RAM so business apps choke a little. Windows comes in S mode, which you must disable in order to install third-party apps. Built-in SSD storage is only 128GB, and after Windows and Office were installed, there's about 60GB left. So I gave my wife a clean 128GB external Micro SD card and pointed her documents folder to it. She seems ok with it.
The ugly: my wife was constantly hitting the scratch-n-sniff trackpad with her thumbs, and throwing her mouse cursor into wrong places, so I ended up disabling it. Had to get an external USB-C dock for keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.
Overall, it's a good little unit. I've been around these things since they sold them by the pound and I'm pretty impressed with the HP Pavilion. My wife is using it constantly and other than some initial pains in change, she likes it as well.

4gig on board, Not upgradable and the solid state drive makes it that much better. A 256gb or larger would make it super for what it is, as long as your not looking to do heavy graphics or demanding processes. All in all, if your looking for portability, 6 Plus hours (Have gotten up to about 7 to 8 hours on a charge (Super happy with that) and would definitely recommend HP and this little unit for any one looking to surf the web, but remember this is not a super power house( Intel Pentium Silver N5000). start up's are Super fast, web experience is good, I do some ecommerce on this thing and it works great. Have had no problems hooking up to an HP printer (Which is about 11 yrs old). The display is at 720 Resolution, I Be leave it's a 605 graphics (so nothing super great) if you want 4k, it's not here on an 11 inch screen, Have not tried any games yet, Hold on... Zombie HQ works good, Have to adjust screen for this, but it ran no problem. As for more demanding games, Not sure how it will run, but know; that is not what this is for. Students would appreciate this. But what I did is get a 128 micro SD card to store info and not touch the internal space (Left that for OS and Apps and stuff like that). I also picked this up when it was $299.99 Regular price is $399.99. Yes, I would recommend this.

I bought this laptop to replace my iPad, as I needed something I could easily carry around while observing and evaluating new workers at my job, and needed something that could easily connect with Google Drive and OneDrive. This laptop has been perfect. It is small and light, but just big enough that it is not difficult to switch between using its keyboard and the keyboard on my 15 inch laptop and desktop computer. I primarily use it for the internet (including streaming) and Microsoft Office apps, and have not had an issue with speed or running multiple programs at once (streaming and word processing, for example). Its also easy to use as a tablet, and I love the touchscreen (which is responsive). It has been perfect for what I needed.

First let me start off by saying that I am an HP fan, so perhaps my opinion is a little biased. I have a 17" HP that I use for things like watching movies etc but I wanted something small enough to fit in my bag but have the power of my x64 based 17" unit. The whole purchasing by curbside due to the coronavirus had me worried since I couldn't go in and like shop shop. So I took a gamble.
As soon as I opened the box I knew the screen was bigger than I imagined. It works with lightning speed RAM, nice sharp screen and graphics. And it's a work horse. I can have tons of stuff open, YT playing videos, etc and it doesn't even hiccup. I am very happy with my new laptop. The only, and I emphasize only, thing that I would change is for it to have an optical drive so I can pop DVD's in it. But since this isn't my only laptop, I can do that on another computer or as an alternative, I can attach a USB optical drive. Summary: Excellent well built machine, small enough for a backpack but packs a punch with plenty of RAM. It also boasts a sleek stainless steel colored outer body for that quality HP look and feel. I love it!

Loved the size. Like a small notebook. It is a 360 (bends all the way back) plus a touch screen! Very light & easy to carry. It is a step up from the Google Chrome books. It is not good for all day use as it will get pretty hot. This is great to have if you are travelling & just need to keep up with your email or do light work. However it comes in S mode which will not allow you to download 3rd party apps. You could upgrade to full windows for free to load other apps but that would slow it down & possibly cause it to lag. That would defeat the purpose of the purchase. For that reason I returned it as that's not what I need at the moment. I was buying this for a replacement but quickly noticed that I would need something more powerful. I may repurchase this in the future because I really like it but just wasn't in the budget as I need a full service laptop at the moment.

The battery life is really good. You can get anywhere from 5-8 hours. The laptop feels really solid. Very clean. Very simple. The screen could be brighter and higher resolution but it IS just a budget laptop. The first thing I did was switch the OS from windows 10 S mode to normal windows 10. Its gonna make you think the world is ending by doing so with its warning messages about performance and whatnot but honestly.. just do it. Because me personally, I cant deal with only being able to download approved software and apps. Everything will be fine.
The touchscreen is accurate and responsive.
The hinges dont feel cheap or loose. Very premium feeling.
The cpu doesnt get hot even with the fanless design. It idles around 35-40c. And when I'm running a scan or installing a lot of things it gets up to 60-70c. But it cools right back down.
Overall I really like it. Very portable and easy to use.

Bought as a portable to take around campus to meetings. Much easier to transport than a big laptop, fast start up, and really like the touch screen. The smaller size is also less obnoxious in a meeting, taking less space and you can see over and around it better. For working during meetings or in the hotel room or at the rest stop, it's fine. It's not designed for graphics so don't expect it to edit videos. For Excel, Word, several browser windows, all at once, it's fine. It cannot take more RAM unlike some of the memory websites say, but I did add a 256GB MicroSD card so it has plenty of storage. It feels well built. I'd buy it again.

Great PC Laptop For The Price!

I was forced to use a non-PC laptop at my job (teacher) after our PC desktops were taken away from us. I love using a PC operating system because that's what I know, so I finally broke down and bought a PC laptop to use at work. The HP Pavilion laptop does everything I need it to . . . the speed and storage has been fine and I love the compact size. The first thing I did (after performing updates and security updates) was to change from Windows 10 in S mode to Windows 10. It was simple and only took a few minutes. The change to Windows 10 is "one-way" meaning you can't go back to Windows 10 in S mode. I wanted to install Google Chrome and some other programs that I use for work. Operating in S mode means you can only download programs from the Microsoft Store. Nothing wrong with S mode . . . it just wasn't for me, but I understand why S mode is offered - especially if this were a student-issued computer and the school district wanted to "control" what students download. I added a wireless mouse and will use the HDMI port to project information onto a bigger monitor or use the ceiling projector in my classroom. I like that it has a solid state hard drive too and you can't beat the size and price. I can't comment on what it would take to add memory, etc. because that is something I know nothing about.

This is the sweetest and fastest little laptop I have ever used. I have seen them all when I was in my career in IT. My first portable/laptop was the Compaq suitcase. Yes, I am old, 65 years and almost all of it working on computers and networking. I bought this for my wife is getting a kick out of being to turn it into a tablet she can draw on for all her craft projects. A well designed and made machine. Add to all that the most personable and respectful staff imaginable. This is my new first stop for electronics.

HP nailed it! My Surface 3 died on Black Friday. I had been looking to a Surface Go to replace, but even with a discount, I still couldn't justify the price for the 128 gb model. I've been wary of low cost laptops- slow, poor build quality, etc. But the HP Pavilion x360 11.6 inch had so many positive reviews and the Black Friday price of $279 was hard to pass up.
I've only had it a day, but I am very pleased and super impressed. The Pentium processor coupled with a SSD (instead of eMMC storage on Surface 3) is quite snappy. I LOVE the size. It fits in my Surface 3 satchel. So many ports! Why buy a higher priced Windows tablet with half as many ports?!
Would I have bought it at full price? Maybe not. Possibly if it had a backlit keyboard and a better webcam. But if this gets under $300 again I will be tempted to buy a second!

I bought this for work, using it to access my Amazon Workspace, figuring the performance wouldn’t really be an issue since I would be connecting to a virtual machine. I wasn’t expecting this laptop to be as fast and responsive as it turned out to be. Solid build quality, ultra portable, very good battery life, and PERFECT for work. I did upgrade Windows 10 from the useless S version to pro. Totally do-able and absolutely necessary. Plan to upgrade the OS and you’ll love it.
