I have had this HP for almost one month now. Still starts up and shuts down quickly. I love that! One thing I don't like is that the touchpad sometimes won't respond when I tap on something and I have to tap numerous times before it does. Then other times it will hit something when I haven't even tapped on it! I liked my Acer keyboard better, but I'm sure I'll adapt to this one. Geek Squad did a great job transferring everything off my old hard drive. I was told they were going to sit down with me and show me the features on my new computer, but even with an appointment no one did. They just handed it over to me. I did however call them twice for help and they were very patient and great to work with. This computer has been quite easy to get used to for a senior citizen like myself.

Within one month of owning this PC it stopped powering on. The HP warranty leaves you without a PC for over a week if there's not a service center nearby. Otherwise, the performance of the PC was fine.

I replaced an 8 year old Toshiba laptop with the HP Pavilion. This laptop is absolutely terrific in so many ways. It's fast, sleek, and easy to set up. Also, it has B&O speakers. I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone,

I absolutely love this computer. The screen looks amazing and I love the way it flips around and folds flat for tablet mode. I should have bought another one for my daughter. No longer on sale.

Laptop is serving me well, no technical issues. I wish it came with a stylus and a holder for a stylus since the point is that it's a touchscreen, I have already lost one. Otherwise runs great

Good computer but bad job from Best Bay

I am very disappointed in Best Buy, I made a purchase of a computer (Thursday 6), paid a shipment of almost 28 dollars so that it would arrive the next day (Friday 7). The computer arrived on Monday the 10th at night. I have called several times to get the money I paid for the shipment back and today that money has not yet been deposited to my account. If they knew they couldn't send it on Friday why didn't they say so ??? and so I would have bought it in another store of greater seriousness ...

    DON'T BUY THIS JUNK

This is the quite possibly one of the worst lap tops I've ever had. The ability to adjust the brightness is completely shot just 2 months in. Simple things like the spellcheck not suggesting corrections is also really annoying. The absolute WORST part of this laptop is it turns itself into a tablet CONSTANTLY. Just tilting the computer slightly to one side turns it into a tablet and renders your entire keyboard and mouse useless. You also, can't turn this feature off completely. Most of the time when this happens, even when you turn tablet mode off, it still stays as a tablet and you have to Shut Down the laptop sometimes 3 times over to exit tablet mode. Don't play video games on it if you want the battery to stay in tact either. I can't believe the geniuses that made this laptop can make computers out of wires and plastic, but they can't fathom the idea that a computer that turns into a tablet based on motion, is one of the most terrible ideas on the planet. If you want a laptop that has to sit completely still while you're using it, this is the one for you.

Great looks, weight, feel, and features. BUT, quality control issues... Trim below monitor is loose and the fan runs very very loud, very frequently. My 4 year old dual core i7 runs better than the brand new i5 processor in this laptop.

There is a typo on the specs of this laptop. It's only 720p resolution on the webcam not 1080p. I use Zoom a lot so I was hoping for the higher resolution. Not returning, just disappointed.

    Recall they need to fix

I bought this computer a year and a half ago for college with everything being online I used it pretty often, it ran pretty smooth. Until now, the hinge is broken and the screen is popping out. It is suppose to be 360 so they should have better hinges. As I was trying to find a solution, I saw multiple people complain about the same problem! Costs at least 400 to fix. In the long run, not worth it.

    Nice Looking, but Poor Quality

The laptop worked for a little over a year (occasional use only). Then, one afternoon, I was charging it after use. I came back after about 30 minutes later and the laptop was dead. I thought maybe the charger was not connected. I re-plugged the charger, but the laptop never turned back on. I tried everything. Finally, I took it back to Best Buy Geeks - they said the laptop was 14 months old and already ran out of warranty. They asked me to pay $200 for diagnostics and repair. I did. They called me back after about two hours to pick up my laptop. They charged me extra $8 for a flash drive into which they helped to backstop my data. I picked it up and went home only to discover that it still did not turn back on. I brought back only to be told it was dead beyond repairs. I have tried but have found no solution still. So, this shiny junk is still in my room.

Don't Trust Best Buy Sales Staff

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My sister went into our local Best Buy to get a very specific laptop. (ASUS - Vivobook 17.3" Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 - 12GB Memory - AMD Radeon Vega 10 - 512GB SSD - Silver) The salesmen tried to sell her this model, instead, without telling her what he was doing. He told her that he was "upgrading and the software package and "setting it up" for her, but it would cost her more. Once she figured out he was pulling a bait & switch on her, she complained to a manager. The manager said he would sell her this HP for the same price as the ASUS, so she assumed she was getting a better deal and bought it. (She didn't understand enough to compare the specs side-by-side, and they clearly knew it.) The ASUS model has better specs in every category—CPU, GPU, RAM, SDD. I can only assume the Best Buy salesman was getting a spiff for selling the HP model.

    DO NOT BUY

Warning: do not buy this laptop. I’m not sure if I just got a faulty one, but I was so excited to get this laptop seeing that it had 4.6-5 star ratings. I bought it in August, and by October i had to ship the laptop to HP for repairs because one day out of nowhere it wouldn’t turn on. I’m a college student and the laptop sits on a flat desk, so there’s no reason it should randomly stop responding. After it was repaired, which they changed the battery, by January The same problem happened again. Just overnight the laptop stopped working and would not turn on. It’s being shipped to HP again for a second repair, but as a college student, I need a functioning and reliable computer for my classes. I’m so disappointed in this computer because my last HP lasted me years. I wish I never got this laptop.

    Hinges Unstable, Plastic Covering Cracks

    Posted .

I bought this computer last year and already the plastic covering on the other side of the computer screen is cracking. I have been very careful in handling and daily use however I am very surprised that even the right hinge that allows the screen to fold is also coming out of its grooves. This is the very first time I encountered this issue with any of the laptops I have owned. Not worth the money. Has major flaws with both hinges as even the computer screen does not stay opened at the angle I wanted to either. At first thought it was great for me. But now, I am already buying a replacement after one year of use.
