I ordered the 14m-dy1023dx and was a little concerned that Best Buy listed this laptop as an aluminum chassis whereas an HP rep said it was plastic because it had a moulded chassis. Perhaps the HP Rep was commenting on a different Model Number as the reviews here seem to include several model numbers. It appears it is in fact aluminum as it has the feel of metal. For the price which I purchased on sale for $529 plus tax, it's really tough to beat this HP Pavilion. It's a borderline 13" tablet in physical size which I like since this converts to a tablet. One thing to note is the amount of Bloatware on this laptop. My laptop was running at 64c at idle. No matter how much I deleted, it ran hot and the bottom chassis felt uncomfortably hot as well. I was able to cool things down a bit by dropping the CPU Max load from 100% to 60%. It was still rather hot. I decided to start from scratch but thanks to Windows and Intel, we are back to the Windows XP days where you have to load drivers to perform a clean install or you won't see any internal drives listed. I performed a clean Windows install and the laptop appears to run a lot cooler to the touch at idle. It's gotten a little warm downloading updates so I shall see if that's all that's needed or if i'll again have to reduce the Max performance on the CPU. Performance wise, it appears to run really smooth so no complaints. I plan on using this for business and personal finance so I can't comment on gaming performance although YT videos look encouraging with the Intel Xe GPU. The display panel I received has a warm tint to it as if it has a low setting of Night Light enabled. I prefer a cool tint to my display so I may have to get used to this. I may have to fiddle with the color settings in the Intel Xe Control Panel and see if I can apply a little more blue to the profile. It's a 250 Nits which is more than acceptable for indoors but not if you plan on using this outside. Overall it's a good buy. The fit and finish makes this laptop appear to be more expensive than it is especially if you can buy it on sale during Best Buys deals.

I love this laptop. The price is awesome for the 2 in 1. Great size and the i3 is perfect for what I need to do. Simply surfing the web. The 256 GB Solid State is also amazing at this price lots of memory with out worrying to much if this bad boy takes a lil hit! Love it!!

This thing is awesome! I didn't think I needed a laptop anymore with smartphones but HP proved me wrong with this brilliant machine. The display is pristine. The touchscreen feels spot on and accurate. Love the fold back feature turning this powerful processor into the next gen tablet.

Love these. Gets the job done for a school teacher. Doesn’t log, speed is consistent, stores all my videos, music and production info quite well. Considering getting another for my son.

Laptop is lightweight and very practical. I am still getting used to Windows 11 but overall it is a great product. Best feature is the touch screen

For a "budget" computer, this is one fast and smooth machine that I didn't know I needed until I had it. It's got a great-looking design that does NOT feel cheap, and it allows me the option of folding it back and using it as a display if I need. For the price, if you're looking for a simple workhouse that feels, looks and performs like a bigger powerhouse, this is the computer you should be looking at.

Excellent laptop would recommend to anyone. Love the touchscreen and the fact that it converts to a tablet.

very pleased with my new h.p.computer...eric from best buy watertown, ma. helped me to choose ..transfer info..from old computer...showed me how to use it..this computer is excellent ...easy to use...keyboard has a perfect comfortable touch...moves with ease..wonderful picture clarity and audio sound..it goes from screen to screen quickly...computer light weight ...stlyish case ...like the color....silver...i enjoy using it...will take me a little time to explore all it has to offer.....so happy with my choice to purchase h.p. pavillion

I replaced this computer with a Lenova that I purchased, but kept freezing up on me and so far, I have been highly satisfied with this HP computer. I love the small size and everything is so bright and I love the 2 in 1 option, which I do use often. The only suggestion to the company that I would make, is the letters and numbers on the keys could be brighter. When I take it outside, it can be hard to see at times. It does have the back up light option, which is great, but my computer seems to get hot when I use the lighting, but I was told that it won't hurt the computer. I really am very satisfied.

Great keyboard for typing, Touch screen is very responsiv,e no lag, the i3 Processor is no slouch here!

I Iike this laptop a lot. It is extremely light weight and doubles as a tablet since it can be flipped 360 degrees (stylus sold separately). Hp is one of the two laptop brands that I trust.

This computer is great - especially for creative artistic types. The versatility of this thing is amazing and it's easy and intuitive to switch between the laptop and tablet modes. Unlike the Surface the keyboard is also nice and sturdy and not just an expensive add-on thing. Plus it's great that it has built-in Pen support - as I've seen similar touch-screen computers that are $150 more than this that do basically the same thing but don't have pen support... The price is amazing and very good for those of us on a budget. If you are a creative artist like me something like this is perfect for you. It's also quite fun to watch movies, tv shows etc on it using the tablet mode and then flipping it upside down. It's a more immersive experience and so the device even functions like a mini-TV. It's a computer, tablet and TV all in one! IMNSHO the "Experts" are arrogant and condescending and full of themselves for only giving this beauty 3 out of 5 stars so don't listen to them. Now the "downsides" although they are minor do need to be said. The display *is* a bit washed out and not the best but it's very 'serviceable' as they say and not as bad as some people claim. Overpaying Apple just for Retina screens isn't worth it to a lot of people. It's still better than I expected it to be. Second, it's an i3 processor which is known to be on the slow end for some things but I haven't had any issues thus far and it's been really speedy. So it's not a downside per se, but if you are looking to play graphics-intensive games (integrated GPU = not that good for AAA gaming) or do heavier tasks I would look elsewhere. I personally like to design my own comics and make RPG maker video makes that are not graphical or processor intensive, and this is PERFECT for that. HP is a wonderful company, have been a fan of them for many years!

love it, easy to use, great for doing crafting and cricut program

This laptop is perfect. It wasnt too expensive and has all the features my family needs. The touch screen allows for quick and user friendly use. I am able to connect to my cruicut machine and 3d printer for several projects that our chromebooks and tablets could not acheive. Fantastic product!
