The computer has functioned well with no issues. At first, the boot up took longer than anticipated but after removing some programs from start up and using the restart function, it started quickly and has been responsive to my needs.

Did a lot of researching and read a lot of product reviews. I was thrilled when this super slim HP computer was "Best Buy's" DEAL OF THE DAY -- I paid half for an excellent computer !!!

Great price for an I7-7700T with 8GB, DVD writer, and decent hard drive. Expansion is very limited but that's the trade-off with small form factor PC. It is significantly faster than my 7 year old I5 ASUS laptop for video editing, etc. For the first couple weeks as I was starting to load apps, the fan was very quiet. After loading and running BOINC SETI app, the fan started screaming. Loud enough to hear it 30 feet away, down the hall. The chip is running about 65C so well within the operating specs. BOINC was set to use 100% of the CPU. That's how I run it on my other PC's and they don't have the issue. By reducing max BOINC CPU to 30% the fan is now quieter but certainly NOT quiet. Contacted HP support. Very helpful session with Raj during which I found that BOINC was causing the fan to rev to max. So I have a temporary "fix." But I do think the fan is defective. Bought an HP laptop last year. Also had a noisy fan. HP replaced it and now OK. So I will probably have to send the PC in for repair. Unfortunately, Best Buy would charge to do the repair even though it is under factory warranty.

This computer was working great until about a week ago when it decided not to boot anymore. It is only three months old and will not boot. Not what I expect from a new computer. Best But said they will diagnose and fix the problem. Good thing they stand behind the products they sell.

Be prepared to tweak a few things

    1) It comes with Cyberlink power media player 14 not PowerDirector... these are very different programs. PowerDirector is a highly rated video editor, media player is well... a media player that really does nothing special compared to free offerings. 2) The fan noise is annoying, i can hear it sitting 10 feet away from the computer while watching a movie and having a room fan running, the point of a low wattage cpu like this is to have a quiet system but that is not the case with this fan. I switched cooling from active to passive and that has helped quite a bit but I'll likely look into replacing the heatsink and fan if I keep the computer. 3) The default video settings are atrocious. I'm not sure if it's intel's fault or hp's fault but it's way over saturated and just looks awful. It took some searching but finally found contrast and saturation settings under "color enhancement" and changed it from "use application default settings" to "use driver settings" Dropped contrast and saturation both to zero and it looks MUCH better. 4) HP installs soooo much junk, so many unneeded programs, games, etc, some of which I haven't been able to uninstall. I'll likely just do a fresh Windows 10 install to get rid of it all. Overall now that I've tweaked the video settings and changed the cooling settings it's usable. I already had a license for PowerDirector so not too big of an issue but if I didn't I probably would have returned the PC if I had bought it expecting it to be included. I would never recommend this PC at the retail price, might be worth it on sale though.

This PC is a beast! With i7 processor and 12GB RAM, what else could you ask for ? I bought it during BF deal and paid $499. Amazing! Installed the latest version 1709 , Windows 10. I have been using Windows 7 for more than 8 years, and I am really liking the new Win 10. I uninstalled unnecessary apps. PC is runs quiet. Very happy with this upgrade.

I have only been using this for about 2 days. I will say I enjoy the quick response, especially after my out dated tower. However, I do agree with those mentioning a noisy fan in their review. Not really loud, just a low sort of whine. I think I'm getting used to it. It has one standard usb port on the front, I'd rather like two. Lastly while the CD drive works fine, it seems a bit flimsy to me. All in all for the price ( I got it on sale) it is a nice little unit for what I need it for.

Worst investment I have ever made. Spend almost 1,000 on a basic computer that literally stop working after 6 months. Then the yr after that and here we are 2022 and it ones again stoped working. Never really used it always sat on the desk and as soon as someone needed to use it. Trash all I can say!
