Nice small printer with toner refill bottles. Easy set up and copies are very clear and colorful. I would highly recommend this printer who wants a nice home printer with out a lot of bells and whistles but has the necissities you would want from a printer.

Day 2, Working Extremely Well!

Purchased on sale, with a gift card, and utilizing a trade in of my nearly 10-year-old HP that finally quit working [$30 - thanks, Best Buy!] I had to print some documents for a Monday morning meeting, so I picked this up Saturday, and set it up in about 35 minutes using the online instructions. Connected quickly to my Wi-Fi, ink bottles filled their reservoirs quickly, print heads installed without any problems, ran a test page, set up the scanner, and I had my materials printed in less than 15 minutes after set up - and they looked GREAT! Granted, with all of the tape and "stuffing," it took about 10 minutes to get it plugged in, but the end result - the documents - looked fine. My only minute complaint is that the electrical cord isn't very secure into the printer, but some Alien Tape took care of that dilemma in a matter of seconds. I highly recommend this printer. Will come back with more information after some extensive use and printing photographs!

Overall very pleased with the quality of the printing. Easy to set up. The price was right also. The only challenge is when you scan, it's not automatic. But good so far.

This is a good printer especially if you like to just print documents and pictures. The ink fill process is great and greatly reduces the cost of operation. The scanning operation and requirement of using the HP Smart app is also a rather big disappointment. Very limited operation while at the printer. Double sided prints are also problematic when generated from Scans.

I absolutely love how I don't have to buy ink every month or 2!!! I purchased this in January 2024 and I just now (mid June 2025) had to add color ink for the first time and still have more than half the black ink left. I print very frequently as well. This has definitely been the best HP printer I have owned. Prints faster than any other I have had. The only issue I have had in the 1.5 years of owning it is papers often get jammed and can be a pain sometimes to get out.

Overall a great printer. I love that it comes with "2-years" of ink out of the box, and replacement ink is super cheap compared to cartridge based printers. The initial purchase price is higher, but the amount you will save with the ink bottles compared to cartridges will more than pay for itself. I purchased 2 units for my business and was so impressed, I recently replaced my home printer with this same unit. The only downside is the HP Smart App that is recommended by HP for initial configuration. For some reason HP only allows the app to be downloaded through the Microsoft Store but my office computers are locked down so the Microsoft Store is not an option. I managed to download the app on my personal laptop and with some computer skills managed to transfer it to a flash drive and install on said officer computers. I must say, alternative manual method for initial configuration is time intensive so I highly recommend the streamlined HP Smart App if possible. Said restrictions on the app and the laborious manual method are the only reason i deducted 1 star overall and 2 stars on the "ease of use" rating.

Easy to use and seems to work well. Am looking forward to saving money on ink. I also like that it is much smaller than my last printer and thus takes up less space.

The Printer seems to work just fine, but I will tell you after 20 years Best Buy has lost my business. The trade in coupon of 30 towards your next printer that is featured (I recycled my HP Envy to purchase the HP Smart Tank 6001) was not honored. Best Buy in Portage MI refused the use of the coupon and when I called to find out why, I was conveniently hung up on 4 seperate times. When I called the main best buy number, the same thing happened. If I wasn't in need of this printer for prepping for my daughters Confirmation, I would return it immediatly and buy directly from HP. You can bet I will be buying all my future purchases directly and not from Best Buy.

I purchased this printer especially for the refillable tank ink system. My previous printer I was using instant ink but received a cartridge that couldn’t be read by instant ink and wouldn’t print. So far I’m happy with this printer but sometimes since it’s hooked to WiFi only documents don’t print and I don’t see an error message . Print quality is good for my home printing purposes.

False Pen Missing, False Low Ink, Stopped picking

1st printer lasted about 2 months (false pen missing and false low ink, then it stopped picking paper and made odd noises). Pinter only had about 200 pages. Figured we all have bad days, but sadly hp didn’t impress me with their service. Hp chat gave false information and sent me to hp sites with 404 errors and/or the wrong printer information. Called hp (was on hold and disconnected multiple times leading to over an hour of phone time). Took hp a month to supply a replacement. 2nd printer was difficult to set up (HP Smart Print issues). 2nd printer lasted about 4 months (false pen missing and false low ink). Massive air in tubes. I asked HP and they shared my 1 yr warranty is tied to the original purchase date (so I didn’t have much warranty left). I didn’t want to try a 3rd. HP said they would refund my purchase. It has now been over a month and hp still has not refunded my purchase (keep getting the run-around and now they want to give me a reduced refund). Note for both printer failures (contacting service) I was disconnected multiple times (3 times during one call). I’ve noted for many months to hp they have phone issues and I’ve used land-line and cell lines to call (still get disconnected). I also had over 8 emails unanswered (finally starting to reply, but not resolving the issue). HP said they archived my case as I wasn’t responsive enough. I wanted a refund so I could buy a printer to print and not wait a month for a replacement (I need to print shipping labels). If they were timely and supportive, I’d be printing. Very sad hp doesn’t support their service people to resolve issues (I keep getting forwarded).

The HP Smart Tank 6001 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable, cost-effective printer. The wireless setup is straightforward, and the AI-enabled features make printing and scanning very convenient. The biggest advantage is the cartridge-free design and the inclusion of 3 years of ink, which saves a lot on maintenance costs. Print quality is sharp for both documents and photos, and the supertank system is easy to refill without mess. Overall, a great value for home or small office use!
