I have had good experiences with HP printers in the past, but steered away from them a few years ago because of the ink program. When the need for a printer arose, I decided to buy a ink tank type printer. Since I have had good luck with HP in the past, and there is no ink program with the tank printers, I purchased the HP 6001 Supertank Printer. Setup was easy, and contrary to many of the other reviews, there were no problems connecting the printer to our home wi-fi network. The print quality is good for a printer in this price range. The only real objection I have is this model does not have a feed tray for scanning or copying multiple pages, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I have had this copier for about a month and have used it daily. Since I purchased it, I have copied or printed nearly 500 pages without any issues! This one is a keeper

It prints very well and I like that with WI-FI you don’t need a cable. Looks like the ink will last pretty long. How ever, for some reason, it won’t sync with my iPad. Oh, well.

This printer prints nice copies and doesn't use a lot of ink. I have had a lot of problems keeping it attached to the internet. And sometimes, it just decides not to print. So I have to go through the turn off, unplug, etc. procedures until it decides to print again. I is quite slow and that is fine since it is not a top of the line printer.

The printer was constantly going offline when I needed to print. Not sure this was the printers fault. I enjoyed the print quality and ease with which it printed. Also, black ink was almost gone and I hadn't had it for two years. If you like copying multiple pages this is not the printer for you. I finally returned it and got another printer with additional features I was used to.

The printer is excellent now that the GEEK SQUAD has set it up for me. Doing it myself would not have worked because it needed a USB cable that did not come with the machine therefore, the instructions that came with it caused me many hours of struggling to get it connected to our network. Other than that, it’s great the machine print well and it looks nice.

As a family of four which includes a stay at home mom with two kids and a small business, we need a printer that is reliable, easy to use, and cost-effective. That's why we chose the HP Smart Tank 6001, and I'm very happy with my decision. The HP Smart Tank 6001 is an all-in-one printer that can print, scan, and copy. It has a refillable ink tank that can last for up to two years, it's been a pain having to go out and buy ink when it was running low. The print quality is excellent, especially for photos and printing off activities for our toddlers to do during the day. The printer is also very easy to set up and use. It has a wireless connection that lets me print from any device, including my phone or tablet. The hp app allows us to control the printer settings, monitor the ink levels. The app also has some useful features, such as Smart Tasks, which lets us create shortcuts. Overall, I think the HP Smart Tank 6001 is a great printer for anyone who needs a versatile, high-quality, and economical printer for home or small office use best part is knowing running out of ink will not be an issue.

The HP Smart Tank 6001 is a color all-in-one inkjet printer designed for home and small office users who print in high volumes. Its most significant feature is the ink tank system, which replaces traditional cartridges with refillable bottles, leading to a much lower cost per page and significant savings over time. ### Key Features and Strengths * **Cost-Effective Ink System:** This is the printer's main selling point. It comes with enough ink to print thousands of pages (up to 8,000 color and 6,000 black pages) and the refill bottles are much cheaper than individual cartridges. The refill process is designed to be clean and spill-free. * **High Print Quality:** The printer delivers sharp, crisp text and vibrant, true-to-life colors. It has a print resolution of up to 1200 x 1200 rendered dpi for black and white and up to 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi for color. It can also produce borderless prints. * **All-in-One Functionality:** It can print, scan, and copy, making it a versatile device for various tasks. * **Automatic Duplex Printing:** This feature allows you to print on both sides of a page automatically, saving time and paper. * **Wireless Connectivity:** The printer supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5G), Wi-Fi Direct, and mobile printing capabilities through the HP Smart app, Apple AirPrint, and Mopria. The "self-healing" Wi-Fi is designed to automatically detect and resolve connection issues. * **Ease of Use:** Many users find the setup straightforward, and the HP Smart app is generally considered intuitive for printing, scanning, and copying from mobile devices. ### Potential Drawbacks and Considerations * **Small Display:** The printer has a small, two-line LCD screen with "smart-guided buttons," which may not be as user-friendly as a full-color touch screen. * **Connectivity Issues:** While it boasts "self-healing" Wi-Fi, some users have reported occasional connectivity problems that require troubleshooting. * **Build Quality:** A few reviews mention that the printer feels somewhat "cheap and flimsy," particularly the paper trays and scanner lid. * **No Automatic Document Feeder (ADF):** The 6001 model does not have an ADF, which means you have to manually load each page for scanning or copying multi-page documents. * **Paper Handling:** The paper tray is a front-loading design, and some users find it awkward to use, especially for envelopes. ### Overall The HP Smart Tank 6001 is a strong contender for anyone who prints a lot and is tired of the high cost of replacement ink cartridges. Its ink tank system is its biggest advantage, offering a low cost per page and a mess-free refilling experience. While it may lack some of the advanced features of more expensive models, such as a large touchscreen or an ADF, its excellent print quality, automatic duplexing, and wireless capabilities make it a great value for most home and small office needs.

This printer is awesome! I purchased it a month ago and it prints clean and fast ! It’s compact and has the scanner on the top. Easy setup too. I have printed about 100 sheets so far and they all come out very nice. Even prints on both sides and no trouble with the printer whatsoever!

I wanted to 100% love this printer and I do like it but…I don’t like that you can’t print multiple pictures on one page. You are limited to one item and it’s sad because you can adjust size and orientation of photo but you can’t add multiple which is a real downside. The printer is great on ink, you are not spending a weeks pay to print anymore, so that is good. The quality is good but on my other HP printer the quality was great but again you are only paying a fraction of what you did on ink. So all and all for everyday printing it’s great

This is a wonderful printer, but somewhat of a bear to install properly. I bought this printer primarily for scanning purposes since my old flatbed went south. After installing with the HP Smart app I tried everything to get it to scan to pdf files on my computer. It would only scan to a copy from the printer. After five days of trying all the options I finally got a real person on the phone and it turned out that the function to scan to files on my computer required that I establish an account on HP and be signed in. Seems like an unnecessary HP control requirement, but it will now scan finally to computer files.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the HP Smart Tank 6001 Wireless All-In-One Supertank Inkjet Printer, and I must say, it left quite an impression. This printer offers a combination of excellent print quality, wireless convenience, and long-lasting ink supply that is hard to beat. First and foremost, the print quality of the HP Smart Tank 6001 is impressive. Whether it's text documents, colorful graphics, or high-resolution photos, this printer consistently delivers sharp and vibrant results. The colors are accurate, and the details are well-defined, making it suitable for both personal and professional use. One of the standout features of this printer is its supertank ink system. With this system, you can say goodbye to constantly buying and replacing ink cartridges. The Smart Tank 6001 comes with up to 2 years of ink included, which is an incredible amount of ink that can save you a significant amount of money in the long run. The ink tanks are transparent, allowing you to easily monitor the ink levels and refill them when needed. Refilling is a breeze, thanks to the spill-free bottles that ensure a mess-free experience. Setting up the HP Smart Tank 6001 is straightforward, and the wireless connectivity adds to its convenience. You can easily connect your devices, such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets, to the printer using Wi-Fi, enabling seamless printing from anywhere within your home or office. Additionally, the printer supports mobile printing, which means you can print directly from your mobile devices using the HP Smart app. The printer's all-in-one functionality is another bonus. It includes a scanner and a copier, allowing you to consolidate your office equipment into one device. The scanning performance is reliable, producing clear and accurate digital copies. The copier function works well, providing quick and crisp duplicates of your documents when needed. However, there are a few areas where the HP Smart Tank 6001 could be improved. Firstly, the printer can be a bit noisy during operation, which might be a concern in quiet environments. Secondly, the printing speed, while decent for most home and small office needs, could be faster for large print jobs. In conclusion, the HP Smart Tank 6001 Wireless All-In-One Supertank Inkjet Printer offers an impressive combination of excellent print quality, long-lasting ink supply, and wireless convenience. Its supertank ink system saves you money and eliminates the hassle of frequently replacing cartridges. The wireless connectivity and mobile printing capabilities add to its user-friendly nature. Despite a few minor drawbacks, the HP Smart Tank 6001 is a reliable and cost-effective printer that delivers on its promises.

Good printer with minor quirks. Good value for the cost. Easy to setup, as long as you are willing to use HPs Smart App (I could not find a way to install or use this without it). Huge print tanks are a plus. A few minor issues: This printer disconnects itself from the wifi network frequently. Must reboot or cycle wifi button (on printer) to fix. Paper jams more frequently than the older HP model that this replaced. Overall good printer. I would purchase again.

After reading other reviews after receiving the printer is download the software, go to the HP website, the instructions are straight forward. After 20 minutes of setup time I printed from two different cellphones and a Lenovo computer. You might have a problem with Windows 7 OS! Really an OS that is over 15 years old. It is not a Laser but an Inkjet but the items I printed I could use for a resume. Also no it does not have a fax! A fax! I imagine there are still fax machines in use but seriously PDF your documents, attach and send over email or something comparable but not a fax. It will save tons of money on printer ink and it to less than 2 minutes to fill all 4 printer ink wells...but it not to expensive and not to cheap.

Biught printer from Best Buy as ae have had good experiences w/ them. Got printerhom , unpacked and tried to start. Printer powered up fine and printed demo sheets; but could not get it to find WiFi. Called Best Buy and the best they could do is "bring itback to store". Not a god option for us as we have mobility issues - walkers et al. They then offered a home tech appt for$125. We took it for 4 days later. Techs arrived ontime and spent next hour getting printer to hook up to WiFi and print. It hasbeen working fine once online. Best Buy and HP are favorite vendors of computers, etc and will remain so. I do not know why difficulty w/ this printer- but am a computer nerd . Will no better next time.

I finally broke down and got a printer. Easy setup, prints and copies great!!! It’s been used quite a bit…my daughter is doing ‘virtual’ classes so prints a few things :) The printer is in the basement, my office is upstairs - no issues printing. Love that I can print from the laptop and from my phone.

The printer does a nice job. I find it a bit odd to scan, you have to add an app to your smart phone. I liked our older printer/scanner combo where all of the buttons to scan and then email a scan to a phone or email was part of the machine. I have only owned it for a month or so, but hoping the ink lasts as long as it indicates. We run a restaurant and our menu changes routinely, so we use a decent amount of color. Its a very quite machine, which I like too.
