Customers are pleased with the Smart Tank 7301's outstanding print quality and ease of use. Many also appreciate the quick setup and suitable size for small offices. However, some customers have expressed concerns regarding the paper tray, spotty Wi-Fi connection, and scanning functionality. Additionally, a few find the price a bit high and the LCD display uninformative.

Excellent at home printer

Needed a printer to use at home and this one definitely checked all the boxes for me. A good in between of tech and basic. I love the ability to print anything from my computer or my phone by the easy connection. Definitely was worth the investment. And the ink definitely does last and will allow for easy and quick refills. But I haven't had to yet.

I upgraded from a very old HP laser printer and am just amazed at the difference in the two. The print quality, the ease of use, and the cost have all been excellent. Just hope it lasts as long as the one it replaced!

Scanner is the worst - Copying is hard too

My suggestion is not to buy this all-in-one printer. It prints okay. To copy, expect to have to unplug and plug in the printer. It won't provide a copy feature any other way. It is a terrible product. Worse yet is scanning. Scan jobs fail about 90% of the time. I've tried so many things but the only thing that works is unplugging and keep trying to scan and MAYBE it won't fail. This is the worst multi-function printer I've ever owned. Full regrets on purchasing this trassh.

Areas for Improvement

I didn't realize this was for posting. I almost deleted my review. Then, I realized these may be helpful recommendations for planning the next iterations of the printer series, so I submitted the review anyway. I put I would not recommend it—for now, but I have had the printer less than a month. I have at least four areas for improvement. (1) It's a little slower printing and definitely scanning than the Brother printer and less expensive HP printer I had previously. I'm not sure if it's the printer or how long it takes for the computer to send the job to the printer. (2) It goes offline occasionally without notice. (3) The paper drawer sticks a little when trying to pull it out and add paper. (4) It's a little difficult to plug in the power cord because the connection portal is a little deep within the back side of the printer.

Easily connects to wifi from all printing devices and works great. Speed and quality is perfect for my needs. However, the only flaw is that the port to plug in the power source cord fits loose and easily unplugs the entire printer when moving it even slightly.

I love the fact that it has refillable ink tanks instead of cartridges. the ink seems like it is more affordable with the refillable tanks. It prints well, but I did have one issue with scanning document from the feeder. Total Tech Support helped solve that problem and it works great now.

Great quality print! Took me a while to get used to it! Biggest drawback is the plastic paper drawer. Had the same issue on my previous HP printer.

I have a small business and we print quite a bit of paper work and needed something that was high quality had all the functions I needed. So far, the only drawback that I am finding is when I scan double sided documents, I have to add a page and scan it again, unlike other HP printers that I've had where you can say it is double sided and it will scan both sides without having to reinsert the page. But, overall, it's a great printer and does what I need it to!

I LOVE this printer. Colors are good, it’s quick; set up was super-easy; footprint is reasonable; and I’m looking forward to reduced ink costs. Takes a minute to learn the meaning of the readouts and still trying to figure out how to copy from printed pages rather than a device, but seems pretty simple compared to my last hp photo printer.

Very good printer. The colours are very vivid and the ink system makes for a very, very cheap cost per page. Only downside is that both printing and scanning (ADF and flatbed) are very slow (but high quality!), though it shouldn't really matter if it's a low-use home printer. Wouldn't recommend for office use because of that.
The HP Smart app is laggy but feature-packed and overall very nice to use. The Google Assistant integration is hit or miss but when it works it works well. We've also had no driver issues whatsoever with any device.
