The first two days was great but by the third day, I would be using the computer and it would just turn off. I updated the system and it started working fine. I also noticed that when I was on a zoom call for about 5 hours, the camera started glitching and the computer was very hot. If I had money I would’ve returned this one and bought a brand new one as I got this open box. Anyways it was still a better upgrade from my previous computer.

Purchased this for my wife after circumstances required her to work from home. It’s an incredibly sharp looking laptop and has enough power to do nearly all work tasks. It is however not capable of playing video games. I was hopeful I’d be able to play some PC games not available on Xbox but without a proper graphics card; it won’t fit the bill. Regardless, that’s not why we purchased it and if you are looking for a light weight, sharp looking, windows device — look no further!

I picked up a like new open box unit which was simply too good of a deal to pass-up. I had read numerous reviews on this (late 2019) model of the Spectre and was happy to see that most of the issues with the previous models had been corrected. Two of the previous shortcomings were the drivers for the touchpad and the largish bezel around the screen. HP is now using Microsoft drives for the touchpad and the difference is significant....much, much better! The smaller screen bezels allow for a smaller footprint which is about the same size as Dell's XPS-13 2 in 1. The 1080p screen is plenty bright and really all that is needed on a 13" laptop. The advantages of a 4k screen don't seem to be worth the tradeoff for less battery life. Speaking of which, the battery life is great, close to 10 hours with the screen brightness set high. The touchscreen works just fine with both a finger and the included pen. I had hoped for 16gb of RAM but have found that this model with 8gb of RAM plus 32gb of Optane cache memory appears to be (subjectively) faster than my Dell XPS-15 with 16gb. You are limited to the amount of memory installed as it is soldered to the motherboard. I wish Best Buy carried the blue model instead of the silver one as the keyboard is not as easy to read with silver keys. This will probably not be much of an issue for touch-typists. However, the backlit keyboard does help make the keys easier to read. My recommendation is to buy this particular model when it is on sale and save a few hundred bucks. Unless you really need 16gb of RAM and a 4k screen, save your money and you will not be disappointed!

Very fast, very light, excellent screen. Touchpad is much improved. Overall, a very powerful laptop with excellent features. Very pleased.

Love this computer. I bought this over a year ago to use mostly for school and it has been great. The only downsides I have noticed is that the finger scan to unlock the computer stopped working a few months in and my microphone cuts in and out. However, I did buy this open box and those issues haven't bothered me much. The battery life is awesome and I really like the smaller size because it is so easy to take anywhere.

I bought this Laptop for my wife who is finishing up grad school. Since all schools and universities have gone to online classes for the foreseeable future, we thought it was time to get a laptop that could handle the online lectures and note taking. The laptop has been great. Wonderful speed. Can easily handle the video conferencing with great picture and audio quality. The tablet mode is just as impressive. This model comes with a stylus that has a couple of buttons that I believe can be programmed for different functions. It's a great size for carrying around the house but a big enough screen so that it doesn't feel like you have to squint to see things.

This laptop is light and extremely user-friendly. It has a lighted keyboard, great sound, a switch that allows you to keep its camera turned on or off, and the screen flips over turning it into a tablet. It has become my greatest asset for displaying photos and documents at marketing events and vendor fairs. I use it to promote my management consulting prowess and deliverables to potential clients, and to promote the event I host annually for purple-heart wounded warriors.

I am amazed at how good this laptop is - it is SO fast and efficient! It is a snap to set up and loads program in lighting speed! The quality appears to be very sturdy (both externally and internally). It is definitely worth every penny! Thanks to Best Buy for making this available and the representative was very friendly & patient as well as not pushy. This makes me feel really good!

This is a high-end laptop that works well. The keyboard is a tad small, but I have large hands. As such, I can't say for sure if it is all that small. The computer is fast, and it gets the work done.

Small, light sleek and fast...what else to ask for! I've been an apple owner for a long time, but not anymore. HP finally stepped up and delivered a quality product.

No fan noise. Excellent keyboard. Awesome battery life. Windows precision touchpad (finally HP). I went with the FHD version (was on sale for 1099) and I couldn't be happier. The OLED version is stunning but was overkill for me. The only nitpicks I would say the charging port location is a little odd in the corner.

This is an ultimate ultra portable that anyone can have. I am really in love with it. The design is gorgeous. It is so sleek, light weight and has all the best features. The model that I got was on sale at Best Buy and came with Core i7, 8GB Memory, 512 GB SSD +32 GB Optane. This is super fast. The keyboard is very good with well spaced keys and the keys have good travel. The keyboard is also backlit. The touchpad is decent size and is very responsive with good clickability and super good 2 finger scrolling as well. It has 2 USB-C and 1 USB-A ports that closes down to maintain the thin size. The touchscreen is very nice and the screen has good amount of brightness to handle different lighting conditions. This can be used as a tablet and in tent mode as well. It comes with a built in camera (that is also windows hello face id compatible) and a microphone and also has a finger print reader that is super responsive. Overall, I cannot think of any feature or functionality that is missing in this laptop. The only complaint that I have is that the long rubber feet at the bottom of this have peeled off after a few months of use. I have tried to glue them back, but I am probably not using the right kind of glue for this.
