I originally bought the 16 (15.6) version and it was too big for my needs. Exchanged that for this one and its the perfect size. The speed is amazing and I love the screen. I will warn that it runs on the warmer side, but I use a stand with a fan so it is definitely work friendly.

Love my computer, I'm using it now. The only downfall is this one doesn't come with a wire to charge your pen and I wish you can charge the computer with something other than a C charging port. But this computer is fast and haven't got no issues with it. I also like that it is super lightweight.

I did loads of research before purchasing this laptop. Not only did I feel that it was the best purchase for my money and my needs, but Best Buy had it on sale and also a little extra off for student discount. I am so happy with the overall purchase experience as well as the machine itself. It is lightening quick and super light. the keys feel sturdy and the touch pad is perfectly responsive. I love the smart pen that is included, and was happily surprised to find that there is a spot where it magnetically sticks to the side of the keyboard. Another great surprise was the leather-like sleeve that is included... I thought it would be a cheap little thing, but it is very high quality and even has a slot for the pen. Love everything about this.

I checked out all the reviews regarding the new 11th gen Intel systems. I'm glad I settled on this one. Setup was easy and seamless. Everything works as it should. It's quick and the display is very nice and a tad bigger than most 13" laptops which is why this is sometimes referred to as 14. It's well constructed and very light. I like that it retained a USB-A port. I initially tried the Cell XPS 13 and the lack of USB-A turned out to be a problem not to mention that it complained about my work router, wouldn't allow access to Amazon and in general was a miserable experience. I've not had a single problem with this unit and I'm sure I'll be happy with it for years.

Great laptop in small form factor! Wanted something to replace my Surface Pro 4 that just died out of the blue and was well out of warranty, and this fits the bill nicely, and is much better quality too. Does everything I need and doesn't even break a sweat. I use it mainly for Plex and internet and emails while switching back and forth between my work laptop with Logitech Flow.

Great laptop but HP needs AMD

I love the new aspect ratio when using for work related and surfing the web. If you use your laptop for a lot of video/media then I would probably stick with the 16:9 ratio. The battery life is nice but not exceptional due to the oled screen. Overall this is a nice portable laptop great for all around use. However there are some cons: Tiger Lake is better in single thread but it gets smoked by AMD in multiple thread. Day to day tasks are fine but video editing is ok. There are better options. Graphics are on par with AMD but not a huge leap forward. This is not a gaming laptop although some light gaming is fine. Laptop will get hot. Also fans come on often. Laptop throttles when using for heavy tasks such as video editing. HP needs to give us the option. Ill take AMD any day (better performance, runs cooler, and is less expensive.) Ill trade this for thunderbolt. Other than that its a good laptop and definitely worthy of using it as your daily driver.

Amazing laptop, works everything I want and need it to. The OLED display was completely worth it and every friend and family member I show it too becomes jealous when they see it in action lol. I recommend using Wallpaper Engine to get nice animated wallpapers to cycle through and show off your screen. And using it for work and entertainment is great. Text on a black background is very easy to read and glows on perfect black glass (you can easily switch to Inverted Grayscale in Windows settings to get that on any page, it has an easy hotkey to switch on and off). Battery has been great, gets me through the whole work day using it and the charger is very portable and quick to plug in. I usually just stuff it in the bottom of the bag. The leather case this comes with is perfect for my needs too!

The design is great, the screen is bright, the sound quality is good, and the battery life is decent. The fan can be a bit noisy at times, but the laptop can still handle large tasks well.

Great laptop. However, a year in I had to have the hard drive replaced and all system checks said the HD was fine. New hard drive and the laptop is one of the best options out there for the price.

    Love it for Grad school

I thoroughly enjoy my Hp Spectre. I needed a new laptop for grad school as my 2016 macbook pro was pooping on me. I thought about another apple product but it was way too expensive. To get the same specs of this computer will run you well over 2k, that's not to say the spectre is a bit pricey, but I would wait until it is on sale. My ipad which I usually take notes on the PPT app on has not been functioning and the HP spectre has stepped up to the plate. The pen writes fine (not as nice as the apple pencil in my opinion), but it gets glitchy when I rest my hand on the screen. As a side note this computer runs at base 2.8 ghz, not 4.7 like best buy has listed. I was on the phone with best buy for almost 2 hours to confirm they did not give me the wrong product. So base the product runs at 2.8 ghz and with intel turbo can go up to 4.7 ghz. I took off a star because I think there could be some improvement to the laptop. The speakers are good but I have to turn it up to like 60 (out of 100) before getting some sound out of the laptop. As mentioned, the screen is super sensitive if writing on it. Battery life is alright. I used it for my day of classes, which is about 6 hours. Many times I have had the laptop folded in half and it goes to sleep and the only way to get it to turn back on (or so I have observed) is to flip the laptop so that its keyboard is reactivated (as it gets deactivated when folded). The laptop is a finger print magnet. I like things to look clean so I find my self cleaning fingerprints off it frequently, but if this is not a problem for you then disregard what I just wrote. Speaking of finger print, the (fingerprint) reader is nice but for some reason I think it is oddly placed and often miss having my right ctrl button replaced for the scanner. The key board is nice. At times when my letters are not Caps locked the light is still on, but not a big deal for me, just kind of annoying at times. The screen is lovely. I love the camera and mic off button. Puts me at ease that no one can hack into my computer and be watching or listening to me. The 1 TB is amazing. I have been able to download programs for school such as zoom, anki, exam soft, and textbooks. Oh and the case is nice too! I will say I did have trouble connecting my printer and had to get a driver updater program in order to get the printer to work with this laptop. Overall great laptop with few downsides. Nice, light, and slim and fits into the backpack no problem.

The HP Spectre is spectacular, from the beautiful design to it's performance and display, I can say that thus far it has yet to disappoint in any areas. I have heard complaints about the battery life but I've not found it to be an issue.

First of all I am 30+ years in tech and software. Including serving some time with Microsoft Stores technical at HQ in Redmond. When I first got mine, as Certified Open Box... It looked perfect was clear none of the packages had been opened. But when I turned it on, there was a BIOS error about OS previously restarted unexpectedly. Ok note that: Then part way setting up WiFi Blue Screen of Death!! OK its going back..I assumed. But I like to see if I can track it down, maybe the AC adapter is bad. I had a couple more crashes. Until we got past updates. Then it was fine. Ran for hours tested on battery, AC adapter etc. Then just for curiosity I did a full HP Cloud Reset to Factory. That took a while but starting back there.. it was fine the whole way. I think the Windows version either HP shipped on some, or Geek Squad is using for Open Box reset doesn't have the updated drivers for the new Intel chips etc. Also there were two BIOS updates in the pending updates. Be patient... It is an amazing machine with some great HP utilities. And getting it open box on sale and with HP care pack on sale I saved over $500 this week, If you get crashes in set up.. Stick with it for a while. I never had any after that and I even ran HP Stress tests on CPU / RAM afterwards.

OLED is simply stunning. I use it at 2 clicks above lowest and plenty bright. HDR mode in windows 10 when viewing SDR content also looks great The HP AI for battery manamgent is also fantastic The HP tools for sharing photos across iOS also brilliant Brilliant keyboard See a trend here. Really is a great laptop. plays overwatch, lots of RTS, and great for work. The Pen is as good as my surface pro 3. The battery life is So so. Better than my old SP3 Pro, but not great. I think using it as office/outlook/Edge etc I get about 4-5 hours. Also using DARK mode But it charges quickly. 11th gen intel is really fantastic, but the gorgeous OLED takes some hit on battery.

The laptop is really good. did need to do a little tuning with colors to make it not so greenish by default. But once that was done it is awesome. I am having trouble with external monitors running 4k at 60 hz. But a different cable solved the issue. The only issue I have not solved is that any BT mouse I connect has lag issues, so I switched to just wireless with a dongle. Negative out of the way the performance is great. Fan noise is loud when on but doesn't come on a lot, and its a low hum so it is not whiny and annoying. The battery is good, the unit seems to manage performance and longevity well. Keyboard and track pad are terrific. Sound is not bad. Webcam is bad, laptop is light and easy to carry around and switch modes. Pen is great.

So far, I love this little laptop. It's very lightweight, small and quite fast. I wish it had at least one more USB port and an HDMI port, but with a docking station and maybe one extra USB hub, I will do just fine. I'm very happy with my new purchase.

I originally purchased a larger HP laptop but after several weeks waiting, many phone calls, and countless trips to Best Buy, the Geek Squad decided that the larger PC could not be upgraded to more ESS storage. I had looked at this one but bought the one with the bigger screen. Unable to upgrade that one, I bought this one. The geek squad loaded all of my data on it along with Microsoft office and did a great job. Disney movies look great on the screen and I can’t wait for the Covid pandemic to be over so I can travel and take this with me! I hate touch beds so I bought myself a Bluetooth mouse. I also bought a outboard disk Drive. I have discovered the map app and it’s great except I haven’t figured out how to insert waypoints in a trip. But if you’ve got Wi-Fi, the satellite pictures along your route are almost as good as being there! LOL A great travel buddy.

I have had this laptop for about 2 weeks. It's considerably fast compared to my 10-year-old HP 17" laptop computer. The keyboard is large for my fingers which is great, even though it is only has a 13.5" screen/window. It's well-lit and easy to read. The setup was simple since I am used to Windows 10. It so many areas I need to explore before I could give it a full review. I do miss my 10-keypad, but with the large individual keys, it hasn't been too much of a problem. I can always buy a matching keypad for about $30. I know I will enjoy this computer for many years and appreciate the size and the lightness of it. I didn't know I would also receive a protective sleeve for the computer as well as a stylus pen in the package I bought. Such a nice surprise as I was looking for a protective case or sleeve for this computer. So far everything is great!

I have had this laptop for a little over a month now, and I am mostly impressed with it. The screen is vibrant, speakers sound good, the keyboard is easy to use, the battery life is pretty good. And I got it on sale! I did almost return it however. The day I got it, while going through the setup and personalization, while restarting the laptop would not boot up. I'm not entirely certain what it was doing when it got stuck. I turned it off and on and after an hour or so, got it to boot up. Then after a while, it happened again. This time I had to re-install Windows to get it to work. Then, while installing WebRoot Antivirus Protection which I purchased at the same time, the laptop needed to restart, and again wouldn't boot up. Had to get the laptop into 'recovery mode' which is a bit of a trick, then re-install Windows to get laptop to work. Everything was working fine until I tried installing WebRoot again, needs to restart, and same problem, cannot boot up. So, after setting up, and then having to re-install Windows several times, and then go through set up and personalization several times, I have decided not to install WebRoot. Since then, no problems, works like a champ. Would not recommend getting WebRoot Antivirus Protection with it however.
