While the price tag was above our price range, we think it was worth it. The computer has a very sleek design and is very well made. It is lightning fast, and the screen is fabulous resolution. I would highly recommend this PC.

I rate this laptop with 4 stars because it could have more ports (USB and HDMI) for the price. Otherwise, this is a very nice laptop. It has ample speed and storage. The display is clear and the processing speed is very acceptable.

I love it! The design of this laptop is beautiful, it’s working great. What I love the most is the touch screen and how it turn to 360° The golden border gives it a delicate and fancy look. It’s the perfect choice for my studies.

An ideal laptop for both business and entertainment. It is quiet and fast and I like the 4K screen and its color. The only things I can complain about are the sound of the speaker should be louder and the camera quality should be higher.

Fantastic build quality and performance. Battery life is generally great for "normal" use but will of course go down with heavy use. The SSD and Optane storage systems really drive the responsiveness of this system. The touch pen is a great adition though some will find it more useful than others. Fantastic for watching TV/Movies on the go with the large 4K OLED display, as well as getting serious work done. 2 in 1 style is always a welcome feature even if its not the primary form factor for daily use. I'm generally an Apple guy but needed a Windows machine for work and I've been very happy with the build quality and performance

    Battery Swells - AVOID

    Posted .

I purchased this computer (previous version) about 4 years ago. After about 2 years I noticed the case beginning to separate. I didn't think too much of it. Then, I did a bit of research and saw that this is a known issue. In fact, HP has a whole "Battery Recall Program" - So, I thought "great! - I'll get my battery replaced." However, HP just wrote to me letting me know that this model does not have the battery issue and there is nothing they can do. This is a known issue for this Spectre (see message boards) but, they claim that it is not affected when my battery and those of other users are clearly swelling (see pic). Buy at your own risk.

I love it. It can be used as a tablet or laptop. It has a button to turn off the camera capability to ensure my privacy and it’s a beautiful color, touch capability, and hi-tech technology! Fast speed and plenty of memory.

I love everything about this laptop, but hard as I try, I haven’t been able to effectively learn to use the touchpad! I hate it! I will eventually get a mouse, but that will probably use up one of the very few USB ports, one of which I use for the outboard USB CD/DVD drive. Touch pad- no directions on it’s use came with the laptop! Luckily, my Best Buy Geek Lonnie showed me... one finger...right click...left click...two fingers, tap and drag...three fingers...etc. Yeah, like I could understand and absorb all that in real-time with a super-smart Geek!!! When I got it home, I loaded some software on it, tried it, got so frustrated that I packed it up, put it away, ...and haven’t used it since!!! Luckily the nice touch screen is easy to use!! Hey HP, how about a “Touch Pad Tutorial??

I really really love this laptop!!! I was trying to choose between a Spectre x360 or MacBook. TBH, for the programs I use, the 2-in-1 feature of the HP and touchscreen made me ultimately is what made me choose it over the Macbook. I love the beautiful, sleek design. I only wish it had an option for more the 16GB of RAM. Not that I need it right now, but I wouldn’t want to have to upgrade my laptop to upgrade my power. The biggest con is the fact it’s been a very smooth working machine other than the couple times it crashed and froze on me on the first week of owning it. I expect more out of a nearly $2000 HP product than to see those hiccups so soon. And, I did my research and saw others have had the same problem. Other than that, great machine

The processing speed is excellent. The battery didn't last very long. Eventually had to have the battery taken out. The laptop gets VERY hot. Can't use it on my lap. Once the battery was out, I was able to use the mouse pad.

Oh boy, so long story short this is the second of these laptops that I have puchased...after dropping my first one just right and not having purchased the geek squad protection. But this thing is a beast. I am a senior aerospace engineering student and had to upgrade from an envy to this my softmore year. I can perform long simulations on matlab, have a youtube video going, zoom, and PowerPoint up all at the same time (when plugged in). This thing doesnt hesitate, its so good I bought it twice..literally. Only downfall is the steep price. But honestly its worth it.

Honestly really good, not for heavy things like graphic design or renders which I unfortunately intended it for. If your looking for a good business computer or small time projects this is perfect

Let me preface my review with the fact that this is my first personal PC. Being a graphic designer I have used a Mac for almost 25 years. When I worked in higher education and architecture I worked on a PC for about 12 years. I love this laptop, but I'm having to learn Windows and getting use to the key commands, screen captures and where documents and files are stored. I love the touch screen option and am just starting to play with the Ink workspace! My MacBook Pro lasted me 10 years until I could no longer upgrade the OS. If this computer lasts me as long, I'll be a happy camper!!

Overall: Pretty solid laptop. This is my daily driver for school work and it has almost replaced taking notes on paper after a brief adjustment period. The Pen: The pen that comes with this laptop might be the only annoying part. I started having issues with its accuracy on and off within the first few months. The pen broke completely within the first year. If the pen isn't a big factor, then this is a fine laptop, but the 2-in-1 functionality may be an unnecessary feature. The Screen: Can't recommend paying for 4k for most people though. The screen is so small that most people won't be able to notice any real difference between a 1080p image and 4k. If you hook up the device to a larger 4k display at home or work regularly, then the added cost of a 4k screen might be more justified. That being said, a 15.6" screen is my personal preference because anything smaller gets too cramped for me. So if you go smaller, then a 4k resolution gets more and more pointless in my view. Trackpad/Keyboard: Pretty satisfactory. Nothing all that good or bad to make note of. Position of the trackpad was a little strange in my opinion, but it's not any real issue. Sound/Webcam: Don't plan on this being a great set of speakers at parties. It's perfectly fine if you're just watching videos in bed or listening to music while doing chores, but it isn't a dedicated sound system, so temper your expectations. I have issues getting the laptop to properly work with my headphones and galaxy buds. I can hear audio through apps like Zoom just fine, but the laptop does not receive input properly from headphones (via wired or bluetooth; and both have been tested with other devices successfully). The camera switch is a cool feature though. Camera quality is also fine. Nothing particularly special. Build Quality and I/O: Pretty pleased with the physical build so far. Aesthetically, it is a very pretty laptop, and the hinges feel pretty good. It doesn't open up fully without holding the base down, but it transitions smoothly into tablet mode. The ports are a big factor for me personally. With HDMI, 1 USB-A port, 2 USB-C ports (with one for power delivery), and a headphone jack, I have enough flexibility to connect just about any device. There is no ethernet port or SD card slot though, so if those are important to you, you will need a dedicated dongle (and at that point the ports on the actual laptop are unnecessary, so that might justify shopping for other options). In summary, I'm pretty pleased overall. It's my personal, school, and work laptop. I do a lot of note taking, writing, and some coding from time to time (nothing fancy or all that demanding except some MATLAB work). If you're searching for something with lots of power from a GPU, this isn't for you. But if you're searching for a higher-end PC for everyday use, then this will fulfill most of your needs.

Laptop performance is great. Some key factors for me were quick boot time, good performance with development tools, and the option to use it as a tablet. Everything was performing fine until I installed the free 6 month trial of Webroot Internet Security which was part of the purchase. After installing on this machine I experienced issues connecting to Wifi and frozen reboots. I have removed this software and all of the issues went away. I'm hoping that I can find a resolution to this, but I thought I would share in case it helps others experiencing the same issue.

I bought this laptop to replace my 5 year old laptop. So far I love it. It does everything I need it to do, and it does it really fast. At 16 GB, it has plenty of memory to get the job done, no matter what I throw at it. The Bang & Olufsen sound doesn't have a lot of bass, but it sounds great. I especially love the style and color of it. The only negative I have noticed is that some programs don't open any quicker than my old laptop, but once open, they run very quickly. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and hope to enjoy it for many years to come.
