Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the responsive touch screen, strong performance, and lightweight design of the Spectre x360 2-in-1 laptop. Positive feedback also frequently mentions the long battery life and fast SSD. However, some users note that the laptop can get warm during use and that the fan can be noisy at times. The relatively high price point is also a recurring concern for some customers.

I was hesitant buying this laptop because of the price, but I've been wanting a Spectre since they came out. I never thought I'd spend this much but I am so happy with it. This is by far the best laptop I've ever owned. The design is sleek and gorgeous. It feels really sturdy when tilting the screen for tablet use. The screen resolution is beautiful. It's fast and quiet. This laptop was definitely worth the money.

    Loving this laptop

I have a 13.3 spectre I bought in 2015 which I have grown to love but I have always loved the ash color. I was waiting for this color in a larger screen because it's sexy and I wanted more screen space . After a week of playing around with it I have a few cons but overall it is a great buy. The performance is great, no lag time with netflix or surfing the internet. I 'm not a game player so I can't speak on the laptop in regards to that topic. It's light and fits into my smaller laptop bag which is a plus. I haven't run into any compatibility issues with my applications with the 4K screen which I was a little concerned with but all is good. The keyboard is comfortable which is a requirement since I do a lot of typing for work and school. My only gripe is the battery which has not even gotten close to 12 hours. The best I have gotten is 4 1/2 hours and that is with utilizing battery saver so I plan to return this for another and see if I just got a bad machine. I have read numerous other reviews about the battery lasting around 9 hours which would make me very happy. My other issue is the sound which is very low even when it is at 100%. Thankfully the blue tooth works flawlessly with connecting to my sound bar so it's not a deal breaker for me. For a moment I considered returning it and waiting until they put in better sounds but realized that I've grown attached to this laptop in only a week's time. The feature that sealed the deal is the screen which is UHD UWVA eDP Brightview. Didn't really know what that meant until I took it outside on my deck in the sunlight. This laptop has an anti-glare screen which allows you to still work outside without having an umbrella so provide shade. I am writing this review in full sunlight and can see everything. Now if you are watching a dark video it can be a little tough to see but I am loving this laptop. If you are on the fence, treat yourself and splurge a little bit. Aren't you worth it?

Overall, fantastic product! It looks so sleek and classy! Those gold/bronze highlights are awesome! The pen is also pretty good, which was honesty one of the highest selling points for me. (There are way cheaper options out there that do similarly what this computer does without the battery-powered pen.) But, when not using the pen, the trackpad is fantastic: extra wide and silky smooth action. Performance wise, the computer starts up blazing fast. The only gripe on that front is that, for some reason, the computer seems to glitch up every so often, not typing immediately when I type or only moving the cursor every couple of seconds. It's pretty annoying. Luckily, it doesn't happen too often, but when it does, it really bugs. I'm sure there'll be some update somewhere that will fix the problem, but such hasn't reached me yet. But, like I said, overall a really great computer. And, let's be honest, it darn well should be at this price point!

I am so happy with this purchase. The screen is amazing. The keyboard is a pleasure the type on. And the pen works just as well as the Microsoft surface line. I take my notes on OneNote and it's so easy to use. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy/bulky so switching from tablet mode to normal laptop mode is awkward. Despite the weight, the laptop is thin and sleek and battery life is excellent as well. Overall, it just has a premium look and feel to it that will make you happy with your purchase every time you use it. If you are looking for a 15-inch laptop, this is the one to get. If you want something more portable, then I would get the equivalent 13-inch model which is much lighter at 2.8 pounds and has a smaller form factor. The last thing I want to mention is don't expect to game on this machine. Although I can play several older games on it at 1080p, the laptop gets pretty hot. I am worried about overheating and causing damage so I just don't play on it anymore, but that is just my personal preference.

I don't think you will find a better deal than this for a laptop with i7, 16 gb, 512 gb ssd, 4k screen, and digital pen support. I have both the new MacBook Pro 15 inch with Touch Bar and this computer, and outside of design and video editing purposes, the HP Spectre is my favorite. I do think that my MacBook is a bit faster for more intensive tasks like photo and video editing (perhaps the MacBook's SSD is faster? Not sure why), but the digital pen support in the HP is a huge plus for me as a college student. Also, the touchpad and speaker on the HP are not as good as the MacBook's, but if you use a mouse and headphones, it's not a big deal. I get about 7-8 hours of battery life with 30+ tabs, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign open, and a statistical software package open.

I did a lot of research in searching the right laptop for me for being a media arts major. This computer is pretty good I've had it for a few months now and its running good. The laptop is pretty fast compared to my previous laptop. The graphics are pretty good as well. I haven't played any games yet so I don't how well it would respond in gaming. I love the touch screen and tablet feature although I do get scared I might mess up the keyboard. The laptop came with its own stylus and bag. My only complaint is battery life could be better, but its an improvement from my previous laptop.

This computer was everything I was expecting, when it receives any kind of input, the response is instantaneous. It’s successfully run every program I needed for school, where many other laptops failed, and is great for recreational activities as well. The only flaws I’ve seen are that it tends to heat up a bit quicker than some laptops because of its thin design, and with art programs the zoom function sometimes lags. Aside from that though, it is an astounding 2 in 1 and excels in every other situation.

The HP Spectre X360 15in 4k, is absolutely amazing. Its performance is great, though when it runs cold occasionally the screen lightly flickers, by cold I mean like 40's to 30's. I was in a pinch one day and needed an extra charger, let me tell you it's not easy to find. You're looking for a USB-C 90W charger, or one a 90W charger that has a USB port, you can then buy a USB-C cord. All in all the battery life is great, I put this thing through the ringer with skills ranging from digital artwork, Adobe Suits work, Youtube, Netflix, and document creation. It lasts with the screen fully lit about 4-5 hours of extensive use. If you're more careful you can totally last all day with one charge. If you're looking to take notes using its 2-1 feature, well the 15in model is quite big. I would recommend the 13in model for that. but if you're looking to go all out and spend some mula on a sturdy, reliable computer. This is for you!

My HP Spectre x360 2 in 1 has been quite awesome. It has been all that the reviews said it would be, and it just keeps up with all my high expectations for it. I can use my laptop at full brightness for 2 hours without being plugged in and only lose 25% of the battery. With the solid state drive, it is up and running uber fast. The 4K screen is really great, and with the 15.6 inch screen I am not missing much. The sensitivity with the touchscreen is great too. I could go on with more great things about this laptop. If you want a great laptop, this laptop, especially as a 2 in 1, really does not disappoint.

When I 1st got this it took a really long time to boot up but and after taking it in to work with the Geek Squad it was a application in the back ground that causes this and took him seconds to fix it, all has been good every since. I have been using this for 3 weeks, very fast, and boots up really quick and great 4K screen resolution, but still learning all of Window 10 features very good laptop

I wanted to switch to windows laptop after using the Mac book Pro for more than two years.(after using windows 10 at my work. I personally felt it is very neat and better than Mac OS.) So I was looking for the similar premium quality laptop(Mac book level) along with 2 in 1 capabilities.(2in1 feature is extremely useful and I consider it to be a must have feature in any personal laptop) After a thorough research I decided to go with this Hp Spectre 15 4K over the competitors like Yoga 910 and XPS. Its a powerful machine with i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. The 4K display is immersive, Bang & Olufsen sound, design and build quality (specially keyboard) is absolutely great, and therefore I'm more than satisfied with my decision after 3 weeks of use. (P.S.: I could never imagine 'Windows Hello' face recognition would be so accurate and fast! Absolutely loved it!)

After a lot of confusion and double thoughts on whether to buy the HP Spectre or Lenovo Yoga 720, I chose this one. When I first bought this laptop at Best Buy, I had overheating issues and crazy fan noise, even though I wasn't running any heavy applications. I returned and replaced it with a new one and the same overheating issue continued. Best Buy was kind enough to accept a second return and provide a new one as replacement. I got the best one this time. I've installed heavy applications, run games and browse, with 10-20 tabs on, and no overheating or crazy fan noise. It could just be few models that could be defective, but not all are. Pros: - 4K display is exceptionally good with wider color gamut as compared with Lenovo Yoga 720 4K - Battery life - much better as compared with Lenovo Yoga 720 4K - Excellent keyboard with touch and feel on par with Mac. - HDMI Port, USB Type-C connectors, SD card reader. - Very sleek, lightweight and premium quality finish. - Comes with a laptop sleeve - Premium build quality Cons: - The default pen provided with the laptop is not very good. Example: you may see gaps while drawing as if the pen lost contact with the screen even if you didn't intend to. - Speakers screech on some notes at slightly higher volume.

I've been in the IT industry for 20 years - this is the best all-around laptop that I've had the pleasure to use. Pros: - Vivid, HD screen resolution - Better than average battery life - Generous RAM and SSD storage - Good sound - Touch screen & stylus super responsive - Fast processor - Tablet mode is impressive Cons: - A few additional USB ports would have been nice, but a portable USB hub is an easy and inexpensive fix.

I’ve been using iPads for several years so the touch screen capability on this laptop is perfect. I am proficient with a mouse but not the touch pad so being able to use a touch to get where I want to be on the screen is gratifying. I thought the touch screen only worked when in “tablet” mode, but no, it works all the time. Yay. I haven’t tried the stylus yet, no doubt I’ll figure that out eventually. The battery lasts quite awhile and the unit is relatively lightweight. I’m old enough to remember when luggable computers were the precursor to laptops and when laptops were not for the weak, so this one isn’t bad sitting on my lap. The screen is large and easy to see, important for a Senior Citizen like me. The only problems I’ve had are with the software so I won’t voice my complaints about that. If Microsoft would get it’s GUI together I’d be even happier, but that’s for a different review altogether.

I bought this as a device that I intend to use for atleast 7-8 years. I recently just got a job as a software developer and while they do give me a tank of laptop, it really is a tank as in heavy and overpowered for anything else I would like to do in my free time. I bought this because it has some pretty good specs for the price as well as the build. The colors are just amazing with the gold accents. The screen is gorgeous and while it isn't OLED, the blacks are pretty deep and the colors are vivid. Netflix 4k content is amazing and i do most of my consuming on this laptop since I dont have a 4k tv (yet) and i can take this basically anywhere. Tablet mode feels just like any other tabe but with a nice screen. It is heavier with its 15 inch build but I dont personally use it in that mode anyways. As far as ports go, with the current day and age, you'll be happy with the selection. Has the basic and with usb c catching on, dongles will soon be a necessity anyways. Charges up pretty fast and speakers are better than most others. The included pen is also fairly precise and feels premium. Now for the bad stuff. I wish they could have packed in at least one more usb A port. If not, maybe a couple of adapters for either usb A or maybe even ethernet. My only major gripe so far however has been the touchpad. It is pretty wide and i find it a little annoying but im quickly becoming used to it. There are some time (more than I would like) where the touchpad becomes non responsive or heavily delayed. I Really wised they went with the microsoft precision touchpad drivers. I hope these issues can be fixed with a synaptics driver update in the near future. All in all, I will highly recommend this to anyone

I upsized from a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro to this unit. I really hesitated due to the extra 1.5 lbs in weight, but the long battery life, bigger screen and discreet graphics card sold me. So far, the only thing I need that it doesn't have is more USB 3, but that's because all the unifying chips for keyboards and mice are still usb2/3, so I don't have one for anything else. The keyboard/mouse don't work well off a USB hub. But no big deal. It boots fast, has good sound and a well-lit nice feeling keyboard. It extends graphics to a second monitor without any hesitation and re-optimizes automatically just fine. Good job, HP!
