Customers often highlight the responsive touch screen, strong performance, and lightweight design of the Spectre x360 2-in-1 laptop. Positive feedback also frequently mentions the long battery life and fast SSD. However, some users note that the laptop can get warm during use and that the fan can be noisy at times. The relatively high price point is also a recurring concern for some customers.

Very good speed for a dual core I7 processor and really like the dark ash finish added to the 15" Spectre line. The overall smaller bezel size from the prior year model makes this laptop more portable. The 512K Samsung SSD is a good size and known to be very reliable. Part of the fast startup speed is the fast start setting used in Windows 10. The touch screen is not used much but is very responsive. The touchpad can get in way if the wrists are not positioned right when typing yet has a very nice feel. There is a little humming noise as other reviews have mentioned related to the screen brightness setting changes but is not very noticeable. Overall good balance of features that make this a great full feature laptop or touch screen tablet.

Blown away. Great all the way around. Fast & can handle multi tasking like a breeze, beautiful 4k picture, HP nailed every feature on this one. Just purchased few days ago so not sure on battery life yet. So far Best lap top i'v owned. You get what you pay for and this is worth ever penny.

Pros: Fast and powerful. Plenty of RAM and SSD. Boots up quickly. Quiet (fan usually not running). Full size HDMI port. Nice speakers and screen resolution. Keyboard closer to front edge so easier to use.
Cons: Backlit keyboard is either on or off - no dim choice. Only 1 USB port - using a hub for more slots. Touch screen and screen flip over to tablet not very useful (at least for me). Touch screen may cause mouse pointer to jump places when you don't want it to (turned touch screen off to prevent). A bit pricey.

Aesthetically pleasing, this machine is definitely one of HP's finest accomplishments in the laptop field. The Solid state drive is a good size for today's higher space demand - 16 gigs of memory - great - 4K screen a delight - Also, kudos for the audio startup directions...

This computer is fast. It starts up so fast you think it was in sleep mode. The solid state drive is very quiet. The memory is large so you can have several applications open at once or many page open on your browser. This is my first computer with SSD. Couldn’t be happier

This is my first SSD Solid State Drive laptop and I must say, it is extremely fast, efficient, and powerful! I will NEVER go back to the old standard! This laptop flies like a Hawk! Crunches data like an Olympian Gold Medalist and lastly, has an impressive look that will turn heads at every moment. The astonishing 4k really makes a difference while working on massive Excel spreadsheets! I only wish HP had this laptop with a built in numeric keypad since I am an accountant! All else, is perfect!!!

Bought this with very little research as my old laptop died in the middle of a project. Battery life has been good, it is very light and well made. I love that it does have one “normal” USB port since I usually prefer a mouse. Seems fairly priced for what you get.

I have been very happy so far. Very fast laptop, nice features, beautiful screen and some of the loaded programs were very helpful. Others of course I deleted. The only issue I had was with the frequency of the fan coming on. I checked HP's website and followed the instructions to change the fan setting to passive and not a single problem since then

Given its price tag, this laptop is great, maybe even the best at the moment. The build quality is solid, hinges are sturdy, no gaps between parts, and the aluminum body is just gorgeous (I would even say on par with MacBook Pro). The specs is top notch, laptops with similar CPU, RAM and SSD from competitors would cost over 2000 if not more. The pen works great, keyboard is pleasant to type with and that Windows Hello? 100% accuracy and unlocks the computer in 2 seconds, all I need to do is look at it. And most importantly, while all other companies are eager to drop all ports, this one has every port you'll ever need -- USB type A, USB type C, full size HDMI, full size SD card slot.
However, there's one big weak point of this laptop -- the display. On paper it is one of the best in the market, wide color gammet, 4k resolution, thin bezels, etc. However, my unit has a serious light leak on the top left corner. I use Lightroom a lot for photo editing, and if you have used LR before, you'll know why this is a big issue to me -- that corner shows a preview of your photo. This light leak makes photos look brighter and less contrasty in preview, that's quite annoying when I browse through presets and look at the preview panel. Another issue with the display is that mine flickers a lot, and I mean A LOT. Being a student and an amateur photographer, I stare at the display almost all of the time when I use it -- editing photos and reading papers, and the flickering really makes my eyes tired only after a short period of time. I do have to say that my display does not make any sound when the brightness is not at 100%, as other uses mentioned in their reviews. Maybe HP need better QC/QA with their displays.
That being said, this laptop totally worth the money and if you're fine with the display, go for it, you won't regret. As for me, I'm returning mine and hopefully Microsoft will refund my Office or at least let me transfer my license for future use.

I was looking for something to run some pretty big files in some pretty hefty programs. So far it has been great. I love the look and feel of the laptop and the screen resolution is beautiful. The ONLY thing I am not too fond of is the mouse/right click/left click setup. There are no defined right/left click buttons and I often miss click. I am sure I will eventually get the hang of it, but it can definitely be frustrating at time. I ended up buying a Bluetooth mouse thinking that would help, but now I think keeping up with a mouse is extra work. lol.

This is an exceptional laptop. Absolutely exceptional. If you are thinking of getting a Surface Pro 4 or 5, I would first consider the Spectre x360. I would recommend going to your local technology store (the one with a big yellow tag logo) and testing out the unit to get a feel for it. The build is absolutely spectacular. The metal finish is just...slickkkkkkk. Of course that brings its own set of problems with fingerprints, but still worth it.
The screen is just beautiful. I do recommend leaving the text size at 250%. With the 4k screen putting the text size at 100% means you will be reading superrrrr small text. The active stylus works absolutely amazing. Very responsive, low lag, very comfortable, very well-built.
The keyboard and touchpad are just....stellar. They feel great, have great responsiveness. The only complaint that some may have (those such people coming from MacBooks) is that to register a touchpad click only the bottom half of the touchpad is functional. Me? I think that is normal, but some people tend to think the whole touchpad should be able to be depressed. Not a problem for me. The complaint I have is that when in tablet mode, rotating the full 360, the keyboard and touchpad are so sensitive that you might push some stuff as you are attempting to hold it as a tablet.
Heat wise, very nice.
Specs wise? Amazing. 7th generation Core i7, m.2 SSD, DDR4 ram and the GeForce 940MX adds a nice touch.
Ports wise, I understand that this new x360 Spectre removes a couple USB type A ports compared to the previous iteration. But, you get a thunderbolt and a USB C port.
The weight is a little high, but thats what you get for a 15.6". It is very hard to get a 15.6" that is under 4 lbs. This one clocks in at 4.4 lb I believe.
What is really nice is that they include a premium leather sleeve. It is not much, but it was a nice touch by HP. Also, the packaging is super premium. I was really impressed.
I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone. Unfortunately the 13.3" only lets you get 1080p, the 4k is only available in the 15.6" version, so if high resolution in a compact size is important to you, then the surface pro 4/5 is probably your best option. But if size is not a problem, I highly recommend this computer.

My HP Spectre laptop has Windows 10 and the i7 chip with an SSD. It is fast and convenient to use. I set the laptop to power on quickly and shut down when the lid is closed. These are settings different from the default. I do some database management of large files and this has worked well for me. It is relatively light weight and I find the case color very appealing. Don't try to guess the color from the name, just see it in person.

I've been looking for a 2 in 1 15 in laptop that also included pen support and this one fit the bill. I returned the first two due to some extremely loud fan noises and overheating when doing simple tasks like web browsing. This current one I have has been running smoothly ever since. Great keyboard and track pad, amazing screen and battery life. and the best thing are the speakers. Would recommend to anyone, especially those in college. Very portable and long lasting on battery life.

I have to say I am so glad I purchased the HP Spectre 360 15"!
I researched for months. I debated between this and a mac as soon as I knew this was coming out. I wanted to use my laptop for photography editing as well as some marketing graphics & everyday use. However, the more I thought about it, spending $3,000-$5,000 on a mac seemed insane since I was just starting out.
This is the most comfortable keyboard I have ever used. The graphics are great. The versitility of using it as a tablet is amazing. The thinness & weight of it make it easy to carry where ever you go & so much less then a mac.
Today photgraphers and graphic designers have moved away from Mac more because you can get just as great quality in a PC.
I highly recommend the HP Spectre.

I bought this after reviewing a bunch of laptops. My key requirements were lighter weight and longer battery life relative to my current 15" laptop. The HP Spectre so far has delivered admirably on both counts.

His HP UHD laptop has a pen and ink feature awesome display and nvidia graphics card. Has speed and an internal SSD that is 500GB. The relative size of the HD makes up for the features and speed of this system. The build on this model is solid, does not feel lacking when keys are pressed or the screen is adjusted from 4K to HD.

The screen is beautiful. It's very quiet even when running multiple programs simultaneously. The battery life is long even with the screen at full brightness. The only issue is that I wish it was lighter.
