Nice design but runs too hot.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful design but I found it ran way too hot and the fan was loud. Ended up retiring it for another and that ran too hot. I returned it for the Samsung Galaxy Flex 15" which I love. The Samsung build quality and design is slicker.

Be wary: It's great, until it's not.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had no complaints about this laptop for the first 10 months I had it. The processor keeps up great, battery life is sufficient for my needs even with it almost always being in performance mode, the display was gorgeous. Then, I started hearing a grinding sound and noticing heat buildup on the left side of my laptop. When I contacted HP support to request warranty support, their customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. they pushed me to buy something else or pay for a refurbished replacement rather than addressing the problem. I found a local service center that was certified to do HP warranties and brought it in. Despite my direct instruction related to the grinding sound coming from the left fan, they did their "process" and concluded that my SSD was the ONLY cause for overheating. Not really a feasible excuse but I said okay, I'll check it out. Within a week of using my laptop again the grinding noise was back, except this time, worse, and conveniently after my warranty period had passed. Perhaps you will be luckier than this. You may have no problems. But this issue has bothered me enough that I can no longer use my laptop until it is resolved. I finally decided to write a product review for the first time in many years of purchasing from Best Buy. Sadly, HP doesn't seem to want to stand by their product and take care of things. Buyers be warned.

AMAZING Display & Specs!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying I am VERY selective about my technology and am a bit of a tech nerd, so I know what I am looking for and when I find it, I hang on to it. I recently purchased an OLED TV which then made every other tech device in my house look terrible in comparison, so I started looking for a laptop that had a 4K OLED screen. Honestly, I was a bit hesitant about this one and went back and forth between this one and the Razer Blade 15. The reason I was hesitant about this one was because a lot of reviews mentioned the loud and frequent fans that would come on. I can tell you now, that is not the case. Just make sure you do the Windows 10 updates and automatic Bios updates and you will not have any issues. I also have the laptop on a raised laptop stand to help with ventilation as well as ergonomics. I haven't done much gaming on this as I have other devices that I game on, so this is primarily a business laptop and it delivers! No need to go into the specs because I am sure all of you can read the description Best Buy has here, but want to tell you that if you are looking for a powerful laptop with an absolutely beautiful display, look no further!

Fast laptop but noisy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Smooth keyboard, nice screen, and great appearance overall. The only issue is the fan, which is loud and running most of the time, even with a couple of open applications. If you are bothered by noise, not sure this laptop is for you. It is a fast machine though. I've only had it for a week.

Very clean design, needs camera improvements
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good, I have only run into one negative thing and that's the camera quality. It's Garbage, you would assume HP would get their software/hardware right if you're dropping nearly $2k on a laptop. Unfortunately, I purchased an external webcam.

Great specs, poor battery
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance is excellent! Battery life not so much! I would love to know what setting they used to get the supposed battery life. My daughter can barely make it through a movie without hooking the charger up.

Gorgeous screen overwhelms the internals
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My use case: photography, light gaming, productivity Bottom line: The HP Spectre's lush AMOLED screen is one of the two best screens among Windows laptops (only the Dell XPS 15" is better), but unfortunately it pressures the machine's underwhelming internals, degrading the overall experience. Pros: - Although its dimensions are not as favorable as the Surface Book 3's or the Dell XPS 15's, and its bezels are thicker than most, the screen is a work of art. It produces the deepest blacks I've seen on a laptop screen. HP allows you to quickly shift from between different modes to match the screen's vibrancy to your activities. - Nice keyboard, with good travel and attractive faces on the buttons. (Note, the keyboard is also in the cons section.) - Good for browsing the internet, productivity and most daily chores. - Attractive (to me) design, although not everyone will like the colors or the diamond shape. - The 2-in-1 functions work well, and the hinge is flawless. Cons - The biggest con is that the screen is so stunning it completely hoses the CPU and GPU. For example, when you use three fingers to expose the desktop, the desktop image smears weirdly. Plus, the fans blow constantly, even for something as light as a YouTube music video. - The QWERTY portion of the keyboard is offset two inches left of center due to the number pad. This was a deal-killer for me -- I just couldn't override decades of typing in the center of a machine. Every first sentence in my emails and every entry in my search engine started with gf;'r or something equally ridiculous. - Fans blow very noisily when nothing’s even running - The area around the fans is spikey and annoying to touch - Sound quality from the speakers is not great — zero bass. I had to turn it off because it was hurting my ears. - Power button is not convenient and somewhat hard to push - A bit of crapware from HP. An ad popped up for Express VPN while I was using Lightroom, which was one strike against the machine. - Touch and tablet mode is gimmicky and cludgy, but that's on Windows. - I didn't really like how the power adapter connects, but I'm fussy like that. - The HP was sitting idle for most of the day, but when I picked it up, the bottom was blazing hot. What the face? In general, the HP is a lovely machine with a near best-in-class screen, but powering that AMOLED degraded the overall computer experience.

Great laptop, poor battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome laptop, but battery life is poor. I like the screen brightness higher, and I know that comes at the cost of battery consumption, but getting less than 2 hours on a charge is pretty bad. Otherwise, I like the 2 in 1 design and that it comes with the pen.

Great Display!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been scouting out a laptop like this for awhile and I got to say that I am very happy with this purchase. I've owed several different pc's over the years , the Spectre x360 has without a doubt the best display I've seen. In fact, I was actually thinking and leaning towards the Dell XPS, but when I spotted this one on display at Best Buy, it completely turned me around.

HP Spectre 15.6 Laptop computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this computer for my wife while she was working on her master's degree, and she has learned so much about this laptop that she has used it for other major projects. The speed and function prove second to none with a machine of this magnitude. Loving everything about this machine. Referred this product to other friends.

Best video editing and design laptop ever!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted this laptop for over a year now. Switched from Mac to HP was the best thing I’ve done for my video editing and design career. My only gripe, of course, is how difficult (and long) it takes to transfer my old files/ desktop from my Mac from iCloud to my HP to OneDrive. That’s what happens when you switch software platforms with huge video and Adobe CS files.

HP Spectre Comments
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this computer. Easy touch keyboard that lights up which is critical for me. The only problem that is troubling is that if the computer is on a solid surface it gets VERY hot? If I am on a surface with good circulation under the computer it is not a problem.

Very nice look
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent laptop. It had everything i needed, especially the 9 key number pad. I like the Bang & Olufsen system, but just wished it was louder. Still great quality sound. The laptop does run a bit warm and is loud when you have a bunch of window running.

Great value laptop/notpad/2-in-1!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my #3 units! Purchase my first one 3 months ago and found out that it has a great quality, balanced battery and power. There are so many features offered not on every computers. one of the rare 2 in 1 that offers 4K display, touch screen, and comes with a pen. Great value laptop/notpad/2-in-1 hard to ignore to look at.

Great Value
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for the specs and price, runs little hot as expected due to the specs. Only complaint is if you attach the pen to the right hinge, laptop will perform lid closing settings selected. I have mine to hibernate on lid close and laptop hibernates when the pen is attached to right hinge. Can someone try and confirm if they have the same behavior?

All in all; it's a great little puter.

Excellent Laptop. Be mindful of temps.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a fantastic laptop. Using it for work and personal. You get what you pay for. Plenty of power, RAM, and storage. Be willing to be realistic with the performance you'll get out of a 1650 Ti in this form factor, though. Low-medium settings to keep good frames on most games, but on a super portable 15" screen that's completely acceptable.
