It is a great computer for such a price I don’t see any other computer manufacturer providing such a powerful combination of components within this price range. I really like the compact design of this new version of Specter. I had an HP Specter from 2019 but this one is easier to carry around compared to the previous one. but this model is a bit more thicker than the previous one that came out in 2019 which kind of makes sense to me because of the more compact design but I would have appreciated if it was slim like its predecessors. Overall the aluminum finish is really amazing to feel while working on the unit.
The display is really awesome so are the speakers. They are not really really loud but I think they are loud enough for online meetings and watching movies. Are usually use headphones for meetings so I usually don’t use the mics on the computer itself so cannot say about the quality of the microphones. The camera could have been better but I think it’s OK it’s not really that great. The facial recognition and the fingerprint are really quick and I never had any problems with them so far and I also like the kill camera switch on the side. More or less the keyboard feels the same compared to the previous versions of this computer maybe a bit stiffer. Are usually use an external keyboard for extensive typing so it’s not really a big deal for me.
It is the 10th generation Intel processor which is really powerful but at the same time the computer also gets really hot if you are using it on HP recommended thermal Settings. This heating problem is a combination of both hardware and software components because I think since the unit is really slim the heat is generated very close to the surface so it gets really hot And then The windows operating system is not really optimized for this computer so that’s on the software site. One of the fixes I was able to find is go to HP command center and then use a comfortable mode instead of the recommended one. That doesn’t compromise a lot on the processing power and more or less I feel that I’m getting the same performance but sometimes when I need high performance I just switch it to performance mode. I really hope that HP can find a fix for this with their software thing because the computer has really big vents so I don’t see if there will be any problem fixing this heating issue. Overall I like the computer and mostly I use it on a table so the heating is also not a really big problem for me but I would’ve appreciated if it was not there in the first place

I've personally avoided HP laptops like the plague after having a couple fail spectacularly many years ago. My most recent daily laptop (a Porsche Design Book One OEMed by Quanta) started exhibiting a bulging battery, and when I was looking for a replacement, I honestly did NOT even consider an HP until I came across some real world reviews and polls stating that HP laptop quality has increased, and been consistently well-rated in recent years. I even saw a number of people talk about their negative experiences with HP laptops years ago, and being pleasantly surprised by HP's newer offerings. And after seeing a couple videos from the last CES showing this new model Spectre, I decided to give it a try.
The new Spectre X360 15" seemed to tick a lot of the boxes on my want list: a high-quality (in this case a 4K OLED) touch-screen with pressure-sensitive stylus, good performance, "full-size" keyboard with numerical keypad, and of course, a sleek, sophisticated design (I was considering getting a gaming-type laptop, but they all look too "gaming" for my tastes).
After having used this Spectre X360 for a solid week now, I have found it to be a very good match for all of my regular daily work, which includes everything from intensive web surfing (a couple hundred open Chrome tabs, anyone?), to graphic design work (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), to CAD/CAE tasks (SolidWorks). The screen has been a treat so far, and I have found myself looking for more and more 4K content to truly enjoy it. Battery life can be a bit inconsistent, though I do realize that is due mostly to my cord-free sessions running the gamut as well. My only real complaint thus far is the dearth of ports; a second USB-A port would've been perfecto since I still have a couple of devices I'd rather not have to buy new cords for.
I wouldn't say this laptop is a *great* deal at full price, but if you can get it on sale - or price-matched to another vendor who has it on sale - it really does become a great option, especially when you compare it to other similarly-spec'ed laptops out there. Add in the beautiful screen, touch-screen capability, memory/hd specs (this specific Best Buy model comes with the 1TB SSD drive), and unique, classy looks, and the HP Spectre X360 definitely pulls ahead and becomes a must-buy.

Dear HP,
I am writing to address a serious issue I have been experiencing with the laptop I purchased from bestbuy store. I am a loyal customer and choose to buy HP laptop from best buy Store because I had heard great things about HP laptop products, However, the laptop I purchased, HP Spectre x360 Laptop, has been giving me significant trouble due to overheating problems.
Since the very beginning, I have encountered overheating issues whenever I use the laptop, whether it's plugged in or not. The heat coming from the side of the laptop has become so bad that it has caused discomfort and even heat burns to my hand. Additionally, the mouse pad area has reached temperatures that make it unbearable to use, causing burns to my palm rest.
Despite my efforts to resolve this issue, including software updates and seeking assistance from best buy store's technical support team, the problem persists. I have visited best buy store multiple times, and while best buy staff has assured me that all parts have been replaced, the overheating issue remains unresolved.
Recently, I contacted HP customer care department in the hope of finding a solution, but unfortunately, I have not received any useful support. This situation has left me extremely frustrated and dissatisfied, especially considering the significant amount I spent on purchasing this laptop.
I want to tell you that this laptop has not provided me with a single day of satisfaction since I purchased it, despite investing over $2000. As a result, I am left with no choice but to request one of the following resolutions:
A full refund of the purchase price.
Replacement of the laptop with a different model or a new unit that does not have the same overheating issue.
A permanent resolution to the overheating problem, ensuring that this laptop functions properly.
I sincerely hope that we can resolve this matter promptly. As a loyal customer, I trust that HP values customer satisfaction and will take the necessary steps to rectify this situation.
I kindly request your urgent attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

I love the quality feel of this laptop and the super bright and clear OLED screen. This laptop is powerful, and it handles all typical tasks with ease. Laptop has 2 USB-C ports and one USB-A which is great considering that most things I want to connect use USB-C. I it also has facial recognition camera and fingerprint reader. I do occasional video editing while on the road and PowerDirector 18 runs flawlessly on this machine and rendering is amazingly fast. I also like to play Division 2. I was got only 15 FPS on High settings, but after tweaking them I got respectable 60 FPS on custom setting and the game still looked great. This is not a gaming laptop, but its ok for occasional game on the road. Overall great machine with one issue - heat. This laptop gets extremely hot. I mean 130F hot. I honestly never owned a laptop that gets so hot. This may be fine during the winter time, but not so great during summer. I had to turn on CPU limitation when running on AC power to prevent the laptop running fans on full speed most of the time. I am also having some issues with laptop not going to sleep consistently. On few occasions, I closed the lid and few hours when I opened it the laptop felt warm, and the battery was partially drain. In summary, I love the look/ feel and capabilities of this laptop. I am little disappointed with the heat issue as this model was expensive compared to other machines, but I am hoping that HP will provide a way in the future to manage heat and fans.

Excellent Build and Price to Performance

Bought this to replace an 13" MacBook Pro. Overall, the price to performance far exceeds a comparable Mac or any other Windows device of the same caliber on the market. The touch screen is great and the overall NITS rating is decent. Screen brightness in bright environments has not been an issue other than glare. The SSD and Optane memory are snappy compared to a standard HDD and basic boot programs are fast to open/respond. Build quality of the chassis has been good so far with little to no deck flex when typing. Keyboard typing experience is great with a moderate amount of travel but no squish. Battery performance is okay, could be better considering the size of the battery. The charging brick is 135W and holds up to the claim of quick charging. Have not had a chance to load down the CPU/GPU combo for editing/heavy usage but has not faltered under normal tasks yet.

Overall very pleased with this laptop. Was debating between a MacBook Pro and the x360.
Design wise this laptop is beautiful and the screen is fantastic.
The trackpad isn’t my favorite but I usually use a mouse anyway so not a big deal for me.
Keyboard is better than most laptops I’ve used, good track distance which I like.
Battery life isn’t incredible but in power saving mode it lasts long enough for most of my plane rides without having to plug in.

I bought this laptop to replace an older Acer. the things I love include the look, the display is fantastic, and for the things I do, including photo editing, the speed is more than adequate. The things I hate include the battery life. HP advertises 17 hours of battery life, but I’m doing good to squeeze out 5 hours from a full charge. The webcam is horrible, and as a result, Windows Hello rarely works as it should. Also, when under even just medium load, the laptop get extremely hot. Overall, I’m satisfied, but would not purchase it again

I purchased a 17” HP laptop over ten years ago and it is still going strong. But I needed something smaller and powerful enough to keep up with all the high tech software I use on a daily basis. I had my doubts when I first unpacked it because it was so thin and light. It was very attractive too, I figured it was just a gimmick. I was wrong, this HP is quite the machine. The 4K screen is attractive even when it is off, but turn it on and voilà, it becomes a thing of beauty. Bright, crisp and rich colors give your eyes pure pleasure. I don’t know too much about the technical specifications, but what I do know is that this machine has handled everything I’ve thrown at it. I have purposefully run over a dozen programs and applications along with multiple instances of my most rigorous software while connected to another 4K monitor just to see what it would take to slow it down. I gave up. Certainly it got a little too warm at the height of my test, but I would never be using it like that normally, and definitely not on my lap. I have actually used it on my lap and it gets a little too warm sometimes even through denim, but I just use the sleeve it came with as a base and that seems to mitigate the heat. I have an inexpensive base with cooling fans that connects via USB, I might carry that with me if I’m going to put the computer to task, otherwise the heat isn’t that much of an issue. The battery life seems great, I haven’t actually timed it, but it seems to last almost as long as my older laptop which has an albeit aging 9 cell battery. I have been told by people that know a lot more about computers than I do, that store bought computers usually have a bottleneck somewhere in their design. If this one does, I haven’t found it, and I don’t think I will. I don’t throw around the word “love” too often, but I have to say, I love this computer. I thought I would have to pay at least $3,000 for a computer of this caliber. Beauty is usually only skin deep, but this machine is beautiful inside and out. I purchased mine on sale so I’m extra happy, but if I had known what a great machine it was, I would have paid full price when it first came to market.

This PC is hot, both in performance and temperature. Have had it for about a month, so far so good. Web pages come up very fast. Hard drive calls are also very fast. The screen is truly beautiful. It has the best sound of the dozen or so laptops I have gone through. There are fans that cycle often. You will hear them when they start. I don’t find them annoying but they do make themselves known. I have not gone on battery-only for great lengths of time but from what I have observed it will not be one of this laptop’s better assets.

My favorite laptop to date and I have had several. My wife and I both have the same laptop now (mine only has the 500 GB hard drive) and we both love them for the new normal-telework.
Some of my favorite features are: VERY fast load up speed, clear screen, large hard drive for storage, large memory for loading multiple programs at the same time with no lag or bog down, slim and sleek design, stylish look, light weight, long battery life, Bluetooth ready for mouse and headphones.
I thought I would miss having extra USB ports but that has not been an issue so far since my mouse is Bluetooth. We do not use memory sticks as often anymore since things are stored on the cloud or the large hard drive. I did buy an external device to add extra ports but rarely need it.
It has a built in micro SD port. A full size SD port would be nice.
The camera has a manual on/off switch which is nice to make sure the camera is actually off.
The speakers are about what you would expect from a laptop, nothing super impressive.
Easy to set up and connect to wi-fi and home printer. My wife and I have them connected to a second monitor and that is a simple HDMI connection and works great for dual monitors.
Small learning curve to get started.
I personally do not use the tablet or touch screen that much. My wife loves the touchscreen! I like having the option if I do need those features more at some point.
It is a bit pricey. We waited for it to go on sale to reduce the impact on our wallet and it has been well worth it.

one of the best i've ever had.
The negatives are:
- it can get very hot, but I have laptop fans for all our laptops at my business and at home so it doesn't matter.
- it doesn't always go to sleep so to prevent it from cooking in my bag i always shut it down.
the positives include:
beautiful design
great pen included
power, power, and more power.
gorgeous screen (coloration is a little warm but still excellent.

I like be this laptop and have to keep it from my teenage gamer because he loves it too.

Full disclosure: I work for HPE and have always thought highly of HP laptops.
Given this I have to say that this is the best personal laptop I have every bought and I've had a few of them. It has everything I was looking for from a tech spec standpoint, performance is awesome, screen size is perfect vs a smaller 13 inch screen and it is awesome to look at. I appreciate all the little design features and that it came with a digital pen and fairly nice laptop sleeve with a pocket for the pen. The charger block is lightweight too. I already had an HP USBC dock for it and it works great. I did buy an upgrade to Windows 10 Pro so that I can RDP in or out and keep it and my work laptop up and running all the time. I don't have battery stats yet because I have not had to use it while unplugged. I will soon. I plan to run the usual home type tools like Quicken and I confirmed it will run and properly display RealFlight, a virtual RC flight training program. I hope this helps you make a more informed choice on this unit vs others.

So far very impressed with this unit. First of all the design is very simple and yet elegant. The gold metallic and black combination gave it it a more sophisticated look versus the competition. As for functionality, it did everything as expected, especially for multi tasking. I usually have a number of apps open when working and did a great job of seamlessly transitioning from one to the other. The wide 15.6" screen certainly helped to manage the multiple apps. The large keyboard is much easier to work with versus the smaller laptops and the backlit feature is very useful. The only downside is the weight...it is quite hefty for a laptop, but is the price you pay for a larger screen. This unit is certainly much faster than my 12 yr old desktop, which has become very clunky. I plan to do the bulk of my work on my HP, but will still retain the clunky desktop for storing and backing up data.

Great laptop for the price. It runs all programs fast, is very light and looks really nice. Screen is superb and the one of the main pros
The cons battery does not last a day, it needs to be connected to power. When running graphs and games the fans become loud and it heats up like is going to exploit. The 1650ti is also very capable of running games at 1080p 100+ fps and some game and at 4K 60 but the performance could be improved wit better cooling. It has only one USB port so you need a hub to connect several devices
