I love mostly everything about this laptop. Buttons press nicely. Good lighting. Audio is alright, could be better compared to other laptops but it meets my needs. The stylus pen is fun. Wish it would open up without lifting the bottom but that is normal for 2in1s. Amazing display. Too big to be playing some games in tablet mode, for example if you are playing a car racing game it is too heavy to tilt back and forth to steer for a long time and awkward to do so. But I do photo editing on this and it gets the job done. Lightroom was being a little slow the other night but I also had web browsers open and spotify playing, along with photshop in the background too. But still decent. I am happy I purchased. Came with a sleeve too.

PRO
Nice screen
Full size keyboard
Worked OK for games
CONS
Gets hot, too hot to keep on lap
2HR battery life
Bios has no config options
Mouse pad and pen had problems at times
Overall what killed it for me was the heat and the short battery life. I could only get about 2hrs our of it which is terrible for this day and age. I though the heat wouldn't be that bad but after a few days of using it my thighs were sore and red from the heat.

Best Buy! Full functional keyboard w keypad makes it nice. Some may not like as keyboard may feel smaller but on a bigger laptop like this, non issue. Bought over any MacBook Pro or surface book. MacBook needs touch screen and surface keyboard and feel isn’t as good. Only wish they had offered w 32gb option. Fast, and the screen is great. $1699 was great but.

GREAT!!! I have had great experience with this computer and people have said that it has a noisy fan and runs hot all the time...So Not True!! I am a firm believer that "listen to what people are saying ,,,then BE YOUR OWN JUDGE" and do your own research!!! I'm over 65 years old and not so tech savvy as these younger kids but it's been easy for me to function with all the fancy stuff! It's forgiving and guides me if I don't do something right. Its quiet and I can have it on my lap with no problem!! It is fast and easy to use! I get long time on battery and surprisingly is so fast to jump on and ready to use!! This is a great set up for just about anyone!! I use for home business and home bookkeeping...really easy to utilize!! Don't always believe the negative reports people have posted about stuff because Hewlett Packard is a responsive company and they have fixed all the weird stuff people have complained about! I have Owned three computers by HP and my first one I got in 1992 and this is my third computer EVER and I got in September and to say the least I have gotten my $$$$ worth from everyone of their computers!!
Time to get yourself one of these new HP computers for ease of use, beautiful design, and portability!! LOVE my HP!!

Very fast and the 4K display is stunning. Gave 4 Stars as that all comes at a price of battery life. Have to make sure to adjust power settings when on battery otherwise lucky to get 4 hours. One surprise is that it will charge via USB C.

Excellent performance on this laptop. 2 slight downsides. Battery gets eaten up pretty quick when doing graphics work and it gets hot pretty quick. Other than that, great laptop. Even better value when you can find an open box.

Love performance of laptop. Does get very hot in bottom and due to very good screen, battery life is short. I do love HP and this laptop has superior performance which I love and with sale price when bought, it was a very good deal

The laptop works like a dream: graphics are amazing, the speed (from start up to gameplay) is incredible. The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because it overheats too quickly, too hot and too often.

I recently went through the trouble of purchasing this laptop for medical school. I say trouble, because the first two laptops either had crackling speakers, wobbly trackpads, or surface scuffs directly out of the box! Even the laptop I settled on has its own issues, such as terrible screen uniformity at low light settings and with a grey image on screen and a not-quite-flush chassis in the front that creaks when I press down with my palm. The laptop is also incapable of play 4k HDR videos without stuttering and pausing, though this may be fixable with future driver updates since laptops with similar specs have no issues.
Nevertheless, there is a lot to love about this laptop. The display is gorgeous at higher brightness settings, the performance is unrivaled in this form factor, and the 2-in-1 form factor has genuinely come in handy on more than one occasion. Though I would not say that this is the perfect laptop, especially with so many quality control issues, it is still one of the most complete and compelling experiences of any Windows 10 machine. It's just unfortunate that, in 2020, every laptop on the market comes with a list of compromises.
If you need a 2-in-1 laptop, the Spectre x360 15 inch is impossible to beat. Just be aware that there are some annoyances you'll have to deal with.

I am happy with it. I read many positive reviews before I decide to buy it. There were some comments stating that it is getting hot. It gets hot a little bit more than my previous notebooks. Still I would give 5 Stars... The design and performance gives you the feeling of a totally new generation notebook.

The Spectre x360 15.6" laptop is excellent in almost every way, but there are a few issues that bother me and prevent me from giving it a full 5-star rating.
The first issue is with the battery. The battery on this device is not good. To be honest, you can't expect much from a 4k display with great specs, but the charge only lasts for around 4 hours max.
The second issue is with the included pen. The pen buttons are glitchy and don't always work perfectly.
The last QoL issue is with Windows hello and how there are red flashing lights the entire time while it's searching for your face. I guess that this isn't unique to this laptop though, so I won't be so harsh about it.
Overall, I recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a beast in a small design!

Really great laptop. Spectacular screen, easy to type on keyboard, extremely powerful processor. I bought this laptop for college and I'm completely sure it will hold up. Only minor complaint is that I somehow managed to get 2 scratches on the laptop casing, one near the power button and one near the bottom right of the keyboard, but they're completely aesthetic so I don't really care.
One note: as other reviews say, this unit gets HOT. Make sure you do not use it on top of things that may restrict the airflow of the computer, such as felt or a blanket. I thought the other reviews were exaggerating but they are not. HP also has a function that lets you adjust the fan speed if you want the laptop to be cooler, but it does get quite loud when using it.

I really like this laptop. Does what I need it to do and screen is bright and vivid. The fans are a little loud when it works overtime. Its fast and responsive. Although I paid the 2g price tag the next day it went on sale and I was able to get the price match for 1650. Not a bad deal!

First a disclaimer: I didn't really WANT to purchase this - but my wife's 1 year 3 month old HP Spectre motherboard died, and she needed a replacement (it was subsequently repaired by HP) - the fan didn't run much, so I guess it probably overheated. One gripe is that while Numlock will remember its state across reboots/poweroff/on, the BIOS does NOT have a setting to force it to always be on at startup. One other gripe is that I wish the rubber strips ont he back were maybe 1/4" taller to give it more breathing room. It is otherwise a nice machine: light, powerful, and quite. Quality rating downgraded because of previous (nearly identical) model's failure.

I bought this computer for the features and the quick shipping time. Since then I have had the opportunity to use it for my college day-to-day. The temperature immediately was a concern. I had the laptop in hibernation in my backpack (note it is Florida summer) and it was burning hot when I pulled it out. I have a cooling pad for my desk and it works completely fine and semi-cool when out and being used, but don't try using it on a bed, lap, couch, etc. because it will get uncomfortably hot to use. I haven't even used it for anything demanding like a flight simulator, or CAD and it still gets hot. I know that most computers get hot, but it was hot enough for me to be concerned.
Besides the heat and power required to run the fans, the battery would last me around 8 hours. I haven't used it enough to really test it, but it was extremely manageable as long as you aren't gaming with it or anything strenuous.
The amount of ports on this is very disappointing considering the cost. The single USB A was needed constantly while the 2 USB C were rarely used by me. The HDMI is a nice touch though.
Windows Hello and the fingerprint scanner are very awesome features, as well as the pen that comes with it. The pen is very responsive and is pressure sensitive. The keyboard has a nice feel to it and the backlighting is perfect for night usage. The included leather sleeve is nice, but horrible for airflow. (Part of the reason the computer got so hot in the backpack)
The 2 in 1 design is very robust and the computer feels very solid when switching between the varying positions. The 4K screen is gorgeous and very bright.
A lot of people complained on here about the speakers, and honestly they sounded really good to me! I work with audio/visual stuff all the time and the sound they produced was plenty loud and clear. In tablet mode on a table the sound does get muffled a bit, but really they are still good speakers.
The cost was a very big decision for me, and for the price this is set at, the product could be better.

I went through three versions of this and finally settled on the most expensive one because the processor is faster then the other models. Unfortunately HP was more concerned with the aesthetics of this rather then functionality because the fan kicks on when it gets super hot preforming tasks like downloading a program then then pen has no built in storage spot so you’re constantly trying not to lose it. The RAM cannot be upgraded and there are no options for cases to protect the $2000 dollar laptop. It’s a decent machine but I’m regretting my purchase due to the things listed above but was under the gun due to the supply shortage caused by covid and my options were limited at the time.

I had the 2017 13t spectre model before this and it's been a nice upgrade. Read through lots of reviews for best 2020 laptop and ended up right back here with another spectre and no regrets. Great specs, sleek design, and affordable. Bought one for my gf (her first laptop ever and she loves it) and one for myself just a couple weeks later. I saw her open that 4k screen and was like wow, a lot has changed in the last couple years in terms of laptop expectations. Speed, RAM, storage, display- all top notch. It's not as fingerprint resistant as my previous silver model, but that's just a matter of cleaning the matte finish every once in awhile.
