Camera resolution on web site says 1080, in actual we get only 720 p. when called the support, they keep passing from one to other team and finally call is disconnected. not happy with purchase. Infact before picking up I suggested my friend to purchase and he is also seeing same issue. I am not sure if there is any setting change needs to be done. if Best buy can help , would be happy to move my rating up.

Swollen battery after 2 year use.

I have owned Sony, Dell, ASUS in past, and used them for more than couple of years but never had issue with swollen battery. My experience with HP Spectre was all fine until right at 2 year anniversary, laptop fan started to make loud noise. I took it to best buy thinking laptop required regular clean-up. I never expected that top of line laptops from HP could have battery all swollen up. Expert at BestBuy was surprised as well for 2-year-old laptop to have such an issue and suggested I should not use laptop with this swollen battery on. I called HP support - it's not easy to find the customer service contact, but once HP ticket was opened - I quickly got response back. However, the best HP offered to me was - since I am past 1 year warranty, I would have to pay ~$250+taxes to fix battery issue (and fan as well) including shipping etc. I figured that I can also get battery and fans from amazon in less than total of $150 and ~$50 to get that fixed from BestBuy. So, it's nothing cheap that HP is offering for a crap they sold me. Still, I am struggling to make my decision to go with HP or BestBuy - however I wish others to be aware of something like this could happen even with top of line laptops from HP.

Shoddy product. Purchased in September of 2020 via best buy. Immediately started having graphic issues where monitor was just squiggles. I did not buy a warranty, however, Best Buy did send back to HP 3 times to fix. Each time it was returned the issues continued. The third time was shortly before the warranty from HP was set to expire. Asked that it be declared a lemon an replaced. Attached is a picture of it as of 12/3

Hi there! Bought this back in 2020 and it’s now been 4 almost 5 years and I STILL LOVE IT ! Best purchase ever. The quality is great and I have had no issues! Before I got this one I had an older version of the spectre and I never had an issue with that one either I only purchase this one bc i wanted to upgrade. It’s still on perfect condition and would think over the years it would become flimsy bc it folds but nope! Still strong and sterdy. Also I love the colors and the magnet for the pen. Oh and did i menso on it came w the pen? When I had issues w the pen connecting I contacted customer service and they were awesome. Sent me a replacement and no issues after that!

I needed a new laptop asap for school and initially got the HP Spectre with an OLED screen and better overall specs when it was on sale for the same price as this one. Though it is nice, the battery life only lasted about 4 hrs max, even after all the battery saving methods I could find on Google. This is apparently because the OLED screen is a huge battery hog. I am frequently away from my charger and so can't work with a laptop that won't even last me until noon. Even though this laptop is lower spec'ed, it works well for my needs as a grad student and the battery easily lasts 8-10 hours on a single charge. The reports of overheating and intense fan action is true, but I pretty much got rid of that issue by undervolting with Throttlestop. The only real issue I have is that YouTube vids tend to buffer a lot, but after a few days of use, that issue has diminished significantly, so I suspect in a few more days that won't even be a thing anymore (not really sure why that is though). The pen works very well. The screen, though not OLED, is still very nice and honestly can't see the difference unless the two screens are side by side. Quad speaker set up is great. I love that there's a numpad. Keyboard feels great to type on. And one of the my favorite things about this laptop is that I can now one-handedly open the laptop like you can a Macbook. All in all, though pricey, I am thoroughly enjoying my new laptop and would certainly recommend it to everyone.

I had been researching for a laptop for quite a while before finally deciding on this machine. This HP laptop had all the specs that I was looking for. The 16gb RAM means it runs super fast, handling multiple intensive programs without breaking a sweat. The inifinty 4k display is beyond gorgeous. The physical design of the Spectre is a beautiful icing on the cake. I'm so happy that I selected this laptop. The rechargeable pen that comes with it works nice - I haven't used it too much so I can't speak to if it has any quirks. Touchscreen is very responsive. If I did have to say something negative about this laptop - the built-in Webcam is nothing special. Picture quality could be better and crisper, but it still meets all basic requirements and functionality. Also, I would have loved so more USB Type A ports - there is only one - but in a pinch I can use a USB Type C to Type A adapter since there are two Type C ports.

I doesn't have the best graphics card and yeah it is a pretty pricey laptop but man is it fast. The speed and multitasking ability is amazing. The battery life is equally as impressive with me using it all day not on the charger, it last me all day long with no problem. I would definitely not recommend if your some crazy gamer (which I am not) who needed the some expensive graphics card or nearly $1700 after taxes is within your reasonable budgeting. Otherwise hands down best laptop I have ever owned and don't regret my purchase at all. Although remembering how much it cost makes me shake my head a bit in disbelief that I paid that amount , still DONT REGRET IT :) 4K screen (Yasssss!!!!) Amazing sound quality Sleek design with nice port variety Speed Demon Battery Life of my dreams

I'm writing this review based on my personal assessment of the device, which I've owned for a good 5 hours. I've used it non-stop (plugged in) and I can say that the computer hasn't gotten hot in my experience - I've been using it on a desk with proper ventilation. The keyboard is great and responsive, very easy to type on. The trackpad is phenomenal, and so far I have had no issues with the OS. I do agree that the camera is not good quality - it's very pixelated and HP could have done better on this. The screen is amazing. The quality is great, brightness does not disappoint and the touch responsiveness is very fluid, albeit I rarely use the touch capacity. I do wish HP would have joined Dell in making their flagship laptop a 16:10 ration instead of sticking with the 16:9. Coming from a MacBook Pro user I find that the widescreen display feels cramped and often find myself adjusting the scale to 200% (default is 220%) to get some more room. Overall, if you like the 16:9 screen and have been used to that size, I highly recommend this laptop. This is my work laptop and primarily use it hooked up to a 4K display and I'm NOT disappointed. The few times I use it without the external display I'm still very happy!

I have been using the computer for a few months now so my opinion is well formed. The computer overall is good, fast, the screen is nice. I typically have a bunch of stuff open (30-50 internet pages plus other apps, Stata, Word, Excel, etc) and works well, not blindly fast but fast enough. The three biggest issues for me are, 1) it is not as light as I would like, 2) the speakers with are mediocre and 3) the rubber under the computer has already peeled off so I had to tape it. Brand new computer and I already have to have tape holding a piece of it. I would give it 3.5 starts.

I bought this laptop as a replacement for a similar laptop in another brand which had a faulty touchscreen and issues with locking up. The difference is night and day. I love the speed and responsiveness. It has more than enough power to get through my day-to-day tasks, with extra when I need it. I love the styling and the ability to use tablet mode, although it is a bit heavy and large as a tablet. Sound quality is good for a laptop. The fingerprint sensor and touchscreen are very responsive. Battery life is decent, with the ability to take me through a full work day, sometimes more. I am very happy with this purchase, as well as the Geek Squad support and customer service experience.

I bought this computer to use in college. I needed a laptop with good power and port selection to use. After using this laptop for day to day small tasks, I am content with the speed and responsiveness, but the track pad is very small and I would've liked to see a larger one. I really enjoy the bright 1440p display which is amazing for media consumption. I am excited to see how this computer handles heavy loads with my engineering software, and for the price I expect there to be little to no problem. The computer is a little heavy, but the rigid metal structure gives piece of mind. I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a solid laptop for school or work.

It's a nice, sleek looking laptop. Screen is butter smooth when playing movies and colors are vibrant.. Was disappointed that this model dropped to $800 during black Friday 2020, but shot right back up to its original $1600 afterwards. I wish the fan can be a bit more quiet but it's OK. It does what I wanted it to do, oh yeah, I cannot find any aftermarket protection for this laptop. Not even a case or screen protector. I think its because of all the aerodynamic (gem cut) and/or the holes thag makes it complicated for China to make.. But you do get a stock faux leather sleeve from HP.

So the only reason I purchased this laptop is because my previous laptop's screen (which was also an HP) was separating from the lid. I had it for seven years and had no issues except the lid separating due to someone's negligence. But I am incredibly happy with my decision to go with this laptop. I love how lightweight it is and the fact that it does not take much space in my laptop bag at all. It starts up very fast, the keyboard has two levels of brightness, the sound is amazingly loud, the touch screen is a huge plus, and much more! The whole look is sleek. All apps load very quickly and there is no dely. One thing I wish it had was more USB ports but I guess we are entering a new age in technology where the need for many ports is not as a high demand as it use to be. I have not used the tablet feature of this laptop but I already have a tablet and will use it as that. I read that some users had an issue with the laptop heating up. I have NO issues with it heating up, even when it's plugged in to the charger. Speaking of charger, the battery life on this laptop is really good! I use my laptop work, school, personal, Zoom, and to watch videos on YouTube. I also purchased the matching mouse to go with it and it's perfect as it too is functional. I've always have will always will be a #HPGirl as they never let me down with any product I've owned from them. Thanks, HP, from your #HPGirl =)
