This printer is just fantastic. No longer do I just keep my pictures on my phone/drive account. It is so easy to use the printer app to quickly print photos that I want a physical copy of. For the longest time I just didn't want to deal with my home printer for photos due to lack of convenience. This printer has changed all of that. The quality is very good. The portability is great. Love that is has a power bank so you don't have to be near wall plug. Don't know about ink replacement yet. Hopefully ink lasts longer than my conventional printer experience.

      Hi, Cindy.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve encountered difficulty with the details of your order and perhaps your printer. From your review I can’t tell whether the difficulty involves a type of extended warranty you purchased or a problem with one of the components in the order, but I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

got a good deal on a sale, set up is easy, do couple test print from the phone and print out looks great. That's where it stops. From that point on, every print out have an issue, there is a light black line on one side of the print out about half an inch from the edge. Talk to BestBuy and they suggested for an exchange. Got the replacement and no difference. The second unit has the same exact issue from the first print out, that's even worse. That's it, back to BB to return it. Even BB employee said not to take chances anymore, HP printer this day is not as good as the good old days.

I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of set-up, use of smartphone application and quality of photos it prints! I have only had the HP Sprocket Studio bundle 48 hours and already have ordered my first sprocket printer ink and photo paper replacement package. I really like the small footprint of the printer and handy travel bag that came with the HP Sprocket! It will get lots of use this summer on vacation.

Quick Pics in Under 2 Minutes, Not So Portable

Was very excited for a portable printer, especially one with a small power bank to operate it. It came with a few sample pictures to use, and a carrying case – and my worst fear of all – a giant HP power brick. If you have ever purchased an HP computer, particularly monitors, docking stations, or laptops you will be very familiar with the giant power brick. The year is now 2020, and I know HP has much smaller power (travel) bricks, but it’s almost like they decided to use all the extra power bricks from 2005 to power a little power bank. Why does this bother me so much? The power brick is bigger than the power bank, it won’t fit in the carrying case included in the box. In fact, the only thing that fits in the carrying case in the printer itself – not the power bank or the power brick! Which makes it a kind of a useless case for me, as I would need a bigger case to carry everything else. Even though the power/cable situation is a bit of a hassle, it is easier to forgive it for what is NOT a hassle – printing pictures quickly. The Sprocket app was incredibly easy and intuitive to use, and I was able to *almost* immediately print out my first picture in just under 2 minutes. *Almost* immediately – the firmware was updated once connected to the sprocket studio (not a big deal, just keep that in mind) and I even spent a minute looking at all the color options on the LED light – that’s right, you can choose your own color – I chose green. The other important thing to take note, which is also a warning on the device – make sure you have clearance for the printer! The printer passes the picture through the open back, so you will need a few inches of clearance, before it passes it back to the front. In other words, do not put the back of the printer up against a wall. Another slightly annoying thing about the printer is the perforated lines cut a little too far into the picture, it’s not much, but it’s noticeable when tearing off the edges. Overall, it’s okay, it prints fast, but the size of the machine, the clearance needed, the giant power brick, the somewhat useless carrying case, makes it not such a great buy.

The HP - Sprocket Studio 4" x 6" Photo Printer is one of those types of products I have wanted for a long time. I have tested it out with four different photos on my phone, and they look great. Just as good as my lab would print a 4x6, but I get it instantly. I am using an Android; the app was easy to install, and it works perfectly. The app also lets you connect to photos on Google Photos, Instagram, or Facebook, which makes this four times more useful. I already set mine up for google and Instagram, even printed one from Insta. From loading the app to connecting to my phone, installing the paper and cartridge, plugging it in, and printing my first photo took no more than 6 minutes. Very easy! Now with the battery pack, Included... You can be at an event or on a trip and print out photos for everyone. I also love the fact that with this Sprocket Studio, your printing a 4x6 image, not some tiny 2x3. I would say if you like to take photos and want to print them on the go, this is a must-have.

      Hi there.

Thanks for the review and feedback. While I’m glad you like your printer, I’m sorry to hear that it’s not working like it should. I can understand why that would be tremendously disappointing, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has multiple diagnostic tools for various problems. There you’ll find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning issues. Visit that page here:

This printer was incredibly easy to set up. You download the app and follow the instructions, and done! The compact design means it'll fit almost anywhere and is completely portable with the included power bank! Selecting photos from your phone is easy and you can manipulate the pictures, adjust and add to them for printing! You can add little messages or borders, as well as center your photos. I could see using this at family gatherings where you can actually give a paper photo rather than emailing or texting a pic. Picture quality is good! I found this gadget to be fun and I would recommend it!

The HP Sprocket Studio is such a neat idea. You can take your photos from your phone and print them out easily and share them or display them. Set-up out of the box seemed pretty straight forward. The printer can be plugged in but comes with a battery pack as well. The battery pack makes the printer super portable. I downloaded the Sprocket app which walked me through setting up the printer easily. I was able to connect the printer to my Galaxy S2 tablet easily. I could not get it to pair with my Motorola Droid Turbo. The Droid recognized the printer but it repeatedly failed when trying to pair to it. There wasn't a lot of information on how to correct this issue on the HP site and none of the suggestions that there were worked. Printing photos from my tablet was pretty easy and the quality was decent. The photo paper has perforated edges at the top and bottom. Unfortunately, part of the heads in the print were in the portion that got torn off even though the entire photo was in the print frame on the app. Other photos printed out ok. So you need to be mindful if you are printing a photo where part of the subject is towards the top. When tearing off the perforated ends of the print, the layers of the photo paper separated no matter how careful I was. I don't know if paper without the perforated edges is available but that might be one way to avoid the paper's layers separating. Overall, this printer is really nice. If there was more technical support and there was a non-perforated paper available to use, I could recommend it more highly.

If you're someone who likes to print out photos frequently but want to eliminate going to the store, this is a great option. This product includes the photo printer, a power bank, carrying bag, and some starter paper. It prints 4x6 prints in around one minute. This item requires minimal setup to get connected and is very user friendly. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a quicker and easier way to print photos at home.

Initial setup was a breeze. I honestly don't think I've had an easier setup process for any piece of tech if that tells you anything. The quality of the prints are interesting. I can't say that I'm in love with the prints and honestly they're not meant to compete with taking your photos to a photo shop and having them printed. This is all about portability. From that perspective I'd say this Sprocket Studio does its job well. There's some native ability to add things like text to the photos that was appreciated. I'd have loved to see additional functionality that I've seen in other systems like the ability to print pseudo photo booth strips and such. However, for some people this will be amazing. I can imagine having it a wedding and providing on-the-spot memories or events where there are guests that people are come to interact with. Provide impromptu selfie prints with the guest and they get an immediate memento. Overall print quality is a bit soft and there's a little bit of a soft metallic sheen to the overall end result, but for being able to print a photo whenever I feel like taking it out of the bag, I'll be a-ok with the quality as is.

So far this has been a great device. Wish it was a little smaller, but for what you need, it works fine. Set up was a breeze and does a great job with picture quality. I have to admit I was skeptical, but all it took was one picture and it lived up to its claim of high quality photo prints. I would recommend this as a quality purchase.

Here are the pros: -It doesn't take up a lot of room. I can leave it on my desk without it disrupting space for my laptop, etc. -It's not an eye sore, design is attractive. -The quality of the pictures is great. -Carrying case is nice, although I'm not sure how much I would actually travel with it. -Features on the app are a nice touch. I like being able to add borders, stickers, and text to my photos before printing. -Does not require being plugged in all the time. It has a travel case so I think that they were thinking people would want to print on the go. -Connects via bluetooth. Good for printing on the go. The cons: - It's slow. I used to own a photo printer back in 2007 and I feel like the speed hasn't been improved over the years. But I guess it has to be a little slow to produce the high quality prints. -A little noisy. It's not terrible but you definitely know when its printing. -Only prints 4x6 photos. I like 5x7 or 6x9 generally but some people may only be looking for 4x6. Overall I would say this is a good printer.

Pros: Portable Good size print Fast charge Cons: Print quality This is a great little printer if you don’t need high quality prints. My toddler gets the most use out of it because he loves to take silly photos of himself on Snapchat and now he can print those. We have a scrapbook for our toddler as well so the prints are decent for that use. It’s easy to take with you and charges fast. I also liked that the printer came with enough to get you going and used to using the printer. It was easy enough to set up and the companion app works well so far.

Generally speaking, HP creates some seriously solid, well-built equipment. From their printers, to their PCs and laptops, HP has a reputation that is synonymous with quality. Unfortunately, that is not the case with their Sprocket Studio Bundle. This product is rittled with issues. Let's start with the overall design quality and form factor. While there is some weight to this printer, the feel is one of a cheaper, lower-end brand. It just does not have that solid feel you would expect from HP. The plug-in for the power adapter sits just below the rear of the device where the photo paper enters and exits multiple times during printing. Unless the power cord is angled properly, the paper will make contact with the cord and cause improper printing. Terrible design flaw. Speaking of printing, the quality of the prints is acceptable. Not stellar, but not horrible. The print time is about what you would expect. This isn't the fastest photo printer out there, but it is portable and probably decent for its purpose. The cartridges aren't going to yield a large number of prints, and they are a bit on the pricey side. The carrying case that is included is very cheaply made, and very poorly designed. The material is thin and flimsy, offering no support and zero protection. Ok, it will protect from scrapes, but in no way will it protect from drop or bump damage. The interior is just one open compartment. So you just have to throw everything in and make it fit. Printer, battery pack, power cord, everything just banging together waiting to break. Overall, this printer is average at best. Definitely room for much improvement.

This is super easy to use and while I haven’t carried it to the grandparents’ houses yet, I’m looking forward to be able to print them some photos “on demand”.
