My old wireless printer was a PITA. I had to reconnect it to the network every time I needed to use it. And it was big, bulky and ugly. This Printer is slick!!! Super small, works every time and literally took MINUTES to set up. The easiest set up ever. Your search is over, buy it now.

    Not with Broadband

I loved this printer for the first 5 years. Then, we switched to ATT (fiber) broadband for better wifi. After that, the printer would no longer connect to wifi. I spent 4 hours on the phone with HP Service and a rep whose accent was so strong I could barely understand her. After 4 hours, we got disconnected. She didn't call back so I threw the printer away.

NEVER stays connected to network. Ever

I bought this printer because it was small enough to sit on my desk without taking up too much space. I had had multiple HP printers in the past and had great success with them all so I expected the same from this one but I couldn't have been more wrong. I would NOT suggest anyone buy this thing. It is the absolute most frustrating piece of equipment I have ever owned. EVERY SINGLE TIME that I go to print something I have to spend at least 20 minutes or more trying to reconnect it to my network. I have followed all the suggested steps from HP and yet when I go to print again 15 minutes later I have to go through the same thing. I'm embarrassed to admit that it has driven me to tears more than once. As I type this review, I have a stack of pages on my left that I had to print to figure out how to do this again--Printer Information Page, Welcome to Wi-Fi Direct page, Wireless Network test Results, etc. I have no doubt wasted an entire package of paper & at least 2 cartridges of ink on printing these same pages over and over again each time this happens. On my left is my iPad opened to the HP Troubleshooting site which I now have bookmarked. With that said, I am on Best Buy's site to purchase a new printer so I will not have to do this again. My advice to anyone reading this is to forgo the look of this compact sleek printer and just buy something that actually works. The HP TANGO IS THE WORST.

Worst Printer Ever. DO NOT BUY

hands down worst printer sold by one of the worst companies. After a few years, my printer has become an expensive paperweight and support has been less than useless in resolving the issue.

Cartridges are only good for a month

The printer lasted 1 year after the warranty. HP determined cartridge problem. Replaced and the printer couldn't rectify the issue with a brand new cartridge. Additionally, the cartridges have digital rights management and are only good for a month to encourage subscription service. It's pretty though and small enough to fit on desk.

    Great- For several months

I purchased this at Best Buy late last year. This is a very nice product for several months. I would have graded it as a five star product. It printed well and was very fast. However, on one occasion the paper feeder drew in approximately 20+ sheets and jammed. I cannot remove the paper. I have to contact HP about how to remove the paper.

    Dont buy, it sucks

Terrible printer, garbage app on computer that does not work. It works ok if you connect the printer to your wifi and print from your phone. good luck trying to print something from you computer, all it does it go in circles and never print. When it does print, it does well, but that occurs rarely. Buy another brand. HP sucks

    Do not buy

Incredibly difficult and inconsistent setup. Without a display, you are left to rely on HP Smart to see if the printer is working correctly, and most of the time HP Smart is unable to consistently detect the printer. You'd be better off purchasing a more expensive printer with an actual display. Otherwise, you're just paying $150 for an expensive paper weight. The worst printer I have ever purchased.

    Did not come with ink

The box lists that ink is included, but ink did not come in my box. It seemed like there was a slot for it but nothing was in the slot. Not sure if Best Buy or HP's mistake.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer arrived without ink. I can easily understand why that would be quite unnerving, so I’ll provide some information and resources that I hope will help you make this right.

First, I can’t say for sure what happened in your situation, but what you describe can occur when a printer is sold, returned to the seller, then sold again to a different buyer without being adequately inspected before shipment. Because you expected to receive a printer with all the necessary components, I recommend you contact the seller to address this promptly. You can do that by scrolling to the bottom of the Best Buy website and clicking Orders & Returns.

I will also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date, so you might make use of it if you need to. To verify the warranty, you can use the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Remember you can always contact us for support whenever you need as well. We're always here and more than happy to help you. You can reach us via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP

Hands down the worst printer that I have ever used. It's a total crap shoot if it will work or not. Definitely it never will on the first try. Usually if you unplug it 4 or 20 times it will work but not always. I have spent countless hours on the phone with HP help desk and gotten nowhere. Constantly shows offline and when you print the printer information page it shows online. Just terrible

    low ink

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We printed 22 4"x6" photos and ran out ink. The specs said it should print 110 pages? We printed on normal quality, maybe on draft quality you could get 110 pages. Also the printer gave us an error message that we were not using HP ink. This was a new printer and the first photos with the include HP ink.

      Hi, Donald.

I’m sorry to hear your printer didn’t meet what you expected in terms of output. I can see how that would be quite disappointing. Because we want our customers to have good experiences with our products, let’s see whether I can provide some information that might help.

The numbers we use for page yields are estimates calculated by an international organization whose standards all companies use. So, results vary based on numerous factors. Here’s a document that explains more about Inkjet printer page yields and how the estimates are determined:
      - www8.hp.com/h71041/learn-about-supplies/us/en/ink.html

Here are some facts about ink use that might help:
      - A high-density print (such a photo) will use ink more quickly than a low-density print (a text-only document), especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry. (Based on your review, I'm guessing you already know this.)
      - Using the draft and black-only settings on your printer can help save ink. (Again, you mention this, so I bet it's something you already know.)
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can help. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer “park” itself so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying.
      - If you suspect the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you can contact the seller.

If none of those tips works, or you have further questions or concerns, you can reach out to us for support: hp.com/contactHP

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer would not connect wirelessly to your router like it should. I can understand why that would be a huge disappointment, especially considering you got the printer as a gift, so I’ll offer some resources and information that I hope will help.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems, including setup and connectivity issues. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

If the problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty
