Overall great laptop weather it’s for gaming or just work. I was scared at first reading all the reviews in the battery life but just running off normal settings this laptop will last you 3-4 hours. Great for games that are not top notch and perfect for my school assignments especially with my programming. Great budget laptop!

For the price, I wasn't expecting much but it actually is good. Runs great on and off the charger, fast processing speed without your internet bottlenecking. Would recommend getting the 1tb storage instead of 512 if youre gaming on it.

Purchase this laptop for my daughter because she needs one for school and also likes to play video games was looking for something that has a good graphics card and processor. this one fits the bill works great right out of box and performance is really good. Great bang for buck.

It’s a great laptop. Can run everything perfectly. The SSD is swappable so I swapped it for a 1TB SSD. There’s also an expansion slot for more RAM to boost performance. As for the performance now, with the GPU, CPU, and stock RAM, it can run every game my desktop can. It’s impressive such a small form factor can do that. Only downside is that due to that performance, the battery takes a hit. As a student, this can be a huge negative, but it should last through at most two classes. If you have an exam coming up, bring your charger. That being said, I’m quite happy with my purchase and I’m sure you will be too!
I would recommend this to a friend

This gaming laptop is perfect for on-the-go gaming. It may be cheap but it certainly doesnt mean its not powerful. It runs most of my games at 60fps or close to it. The graphics card alone is almost the same price as the whole computer! Highly reccomend for a starter or for someone looking for a more mobile device.

My only major complaint with this laptop is the battery life is GOD AWFUL. But it runs games really well, has overall great performance speed, and it’s graphics is also pretty solid. I also use this for class and it’s a little heavy to carry but I honestly don’t mind. Overall, it’s not bad.

A solid mid-range gaming and productivity laptop. The i5-13420H and RTX 4050 combo handles modern games and multitasking well. The 144Hz display is smooth and vibrant. Build quality is average (plastic), and battery life is modest. Great value for casual gamers and students.
Pros:
✔ Good gaming performance
✔ Fast 144Hz IPS display
✔ 16GB RAM & SSD speed
Cons:
✖ Plastic build
✖ Average battery life

Great for the price, great for gaming, (some titles), not so great for storage, only has ONE storage slot, and with only the original 512GB drive included, your storage is limited. I purchased mainly to play Borderlands 4, so the storage is OKAY for just one game, but overall, you will need to clone the drive, if you need more space. Dying Light, The Beast run good, Dead Island 2, along with Hell is Us, Forever Winter. Overall a good laptop for some casual gaming and other computer needs.

Its probably the best "mid-tier" gaming laptop available. There have been complaints about the battery life, but it seems average to me.
I have not had any problems running newer video games on it.
The one complaint that I do have is about the plastic chasis. Im not opposed to plastic as opposed to metal; however, if you rest your hand to the right of the touchpad....the weight of your hand may activate the "right-clicker" even if you dont press it at its designed location. So, if you're typing a lot ot can be annoying. You just have to temind yourself to not type with your hands putting too much pressure on the sides of the trackpad.
All in all, I would give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Great laptop! Great speed and graphics, lots of memory, does everything I was looking to do concerning video editing. I cannot speak to the gaming as I do not game.

was looking for an inexpensive gaming computer and this was right in my price range. the graphics were just what i needed since i primarily just play the sims 4. it was also in the store while i was shopping so i got to take it home that night and the salespersons were very helpful and walked me thru what it does and also through buying it. the battery is okay. i keep it primarily plugged in, but it might be because i am playing a game that it dies quick? but it's a gaming laptop so idk. but im not worried about it and it doesn't reduce my use of the computer. i don't have any pictures, but the computer is a good size, and fits in my lap. one of the good things about This computer is the number key pad. i was also very excited to see that because i can't stand when a computer doesn't have that. so it's everything that i expect and want in a computer in one. the speed, especially while playing the sims, is so much better than all the other computers ive owned. there are a lot of loading screens in that game, and i don't spend more than 5 seconds where on my other non-gaming computer, it would take 10 seconds or more. it can handle the graphics of an actual PC on a laptop which is really nice. i haven't had any problems with the display. would absolutely recommend this to anyone who isn't a big gamer and also someone looking for a gaming computer that isn't 2000 dollars. there is also a light up keyboard if you press the function for it, which i find helpful in the dark

The machine works well overall. The 4050 card is not very strong, but pairing with a 1080p screen is a good choice. It has DLSS support and FrameGen which really helps it out in newer titles. With those set on, you get good graphics (medium or even high settings) at 75+ FPS at 1080P, which is fully acceptable for the price point I paid (sub 600).
The machine does come with a lot of bloatwear that eats into your 16GB of RAM. I would suggest disabling/uninstalling it. McAfee is terrible with resource usage, suggest disabling and just using Windows Defender. Also HPs gaming hub is a huge memory hog and offers nothing useful, so I disabled that as well. Doing the optimizations will get base memory usage below 50%, which leaves 8GB for gaming, which is sufficient.
The one complaint (which wouldn't be one now due to increases in NVME/SSD costs), but it would have been nice to have a 1TB drive option with the same specs for the rest of the system. 512GB doesn't hold many games anymore, so I am sure I will need an external drive at some point.
Overall, however, this is an excellent machine at the sale point I grabbed it at.

I bought this laptop for $699 compared to the other HP victus 15 this one is a MUCH better choice. The battery life is good when doing regular tasks. It drains a tad fast while gaming but for more intense games I keep it plugged in. So far the games ive been playing on it have held up great!

I recently picked up the HP Victus with the Ryzen 7 processor and RTX 4050 GPU, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The performance on this laptop is incredible for the price—fast boot times, smooth multitasking, and gaming that feels surprisingly high-end for a mid-range machine. The Ryzen 7 handles productivity tasks effortlessly, and the 4050 delivers impressive frame rates on modern titles without running too hot or loud. The build quality is solid, the keyboard feels great to type on, and the screen is crisp and vibrant enough for both work and play.
What really made this experience outstanding, though, was the help I received at Best Buy. The staff took the time to walk me through different models, answer all my questions, and make sure I chose the laptop that genuinely fit my needs instead of just pushing a sale. Their knowledge and patience made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Thanks to them, I walked out completely confident in my choice—and now that I’ve used the HP Victus for a while, I can say they absolutely steered me right.
Overall, highly recommended laptop and equally excellent service from Best Buy!

It runs games really well. I haven't played a game where i couldn't run it on high graphics and still get good frames. The battery life is alright when on battery but not the best. Everything else is great though really a good laptop.

HP Victus 15.6" with the Ryzen 7 7445HS and RTX 4050 offers excellent value for gamers and students alike. It handles modern games smoothly at 1080p with the 144Hz screen making everything feel extra fluid. The 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD keep things fast and responsive for daily use. The build quality is solid and sleek in Mica Silver. Fans can get a bit loud under heavy load, but overall this laptop delivers great performance for the price. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an affordable gaming or productivity laptop. Worth the money I bought.

This is a nice laptop for those that don't need super high intense graphics. The Ryzen 7 processor with 16 gigs of RAM makes the computer come along pretty fast. The difference between this and the HP Omen is that there is more space inside the Victus for air flow out of the laptop. For the everyday casual user casual gamer which is a really decent computer.

The HP Victus 15.6" is a fantastic value‑for‑money gaming laptop that delivers strong performance without breaking the bank. The combination of the AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 makes it capable of running modern games smoothly, especially with the 144Hz Full HD display. Fast‑paced titles feel fluid, and the colors and brightness are solid for both gaming and everyday use.
With 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, the system feels snappy for multitasking, game loading, and general productivity. The laptop stays surprisingly cool for its class thanks to HP’s improved thermal design, and fan noise is reasonable even during longer gaming sessions.
The Mica Silver finish gives it a clean, premium look without being overly flashy. The keyboard is comfortable for long typing or gaming sessions, and the overall build quality feels sturdy for daily use.
If you’re looking for a laptop that balances performance, design, and price, the HP Victus 15 is a great choice. It handles gaming, streaming, and productivity with ease, making it a reliable all‑rounder for both work and play.
