Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the Victus 15.6" laptop's strong performance and good graphics capabilities for its price point. Many appreciate the option to upgrade the RAM, but some users mention that the battery life could be improved and that the screen brightness may not be sufficient in all situations. Additional feedback points to the build quality as decent and the weight as manageable. While some find the fan noise noticeable, others report that the laptop does not overheat excessively.

It’s fast and reliable the graphics are very good. I haven’t had any issues with it thus far. Setup was quick and easy. I’ve played it hours at a time with it in performance mode and it’s never gotten hot or anything crazy. Only things I’m not super fond of is it has small storage which of course can be upgraded. And the volume isn’t as high as I would like. I’m hard of hearing though so it could just be me!

The performance of this laptop is really good for a budget laptop. I was looking for a laptop that can run Photoshop and play games not too heavy demanding with no problem and this laptop does that. I recommend buying an 8gb ram stick like the PNY Performance 3200MHz if you decide to buy this laptop to hit that 16gb sweet spot that allows you to multitask while working with performance-demanding applications or playing games.

Excellent build quality, excellent playability. I gave up my gaming desktop for something a little more portable (1080P gaming now, used to do 3440x1440p on my old rig). OW plays fantastic at 144hz with medium quality. I upgraded the HD to a 1tb and beefed it to 24gigs of ram. I also purchased the HP warranty so this laptop is solid for three years (battery, accidental damage) and it was only 60 bucks! Great deal.

Extremely happy with this purchase. My son needed a laptop, primarily for college, that could also handle some gaming. This HP Victus is the perfect balance of price/performance in my opinion. Pros: HP brand, sleek looks, big display, solid specs/components, deeply discounted when we bought. Cons: Only 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD (but both of these can be upgraded fairly easily for not much cost). Battery will run out within a couple hours if doing heavy gaming that engages the dedicated GPU (not surprising, just an FYI). But the dual-cell batteries can last all day at school under normal load, assuming the kid is not gaming in class. ;) Also, it may be a little heavy for some to tote around. It's over 5 lbs, which is not a problem for my son (it's a workhorse college laptop, with gaming capabilities, so it has heavier components, but we knew this going it, so it was an acceptable compromise). I highly recommend this laptop, especially if it's on sale again!

I haven't had the laptop long enough to give it a long term review but so far everything works good... with a few exceptions which include the mousepad getting stuck in a clicked position. However, this can be solved by plugging in an external mouse. My other concerns is battery life which is very poor however it does charge quickly. And 8GB of ram isn't enough these days to do most stuff so I would recommend installing extra memory as well as the webcam which is very pixelated. But overall, it has a good sound system and a good graphics and decent price.

Got this laptop on sale for $600, made with very very good materials, is relatively light weight, have a very good screen, a very legible keyboard. The highlights are definitely how fast it charges and the screen. The absolute only 3 downsides with this are the high end gaming battery life (about 1-1.5hrs) , the specialized charge cord, and the price. At $800 this there are definitely better laptops you can get for the same money or slightly more, bit if it ever goes on sale its a definite must buy

Excellent starter gaming laptop. I have several games installed and they run really well including Baldur's Gate 3. I will need to upgrade the storage but for the games I have now it's perfect. My other computer is a Mac so I needed something that would be dedicated to only pc games and it's perfect.

I usually don't like HP because of the extra softwares it tries to install in the update. They said it was for optimizations but honestly, it makes it worst. I did a fresh install, upgraded it and did not install the buywares(HP additional updates). I love the style, it's really fast and very nice design. Heavy but it's expected because it's for gaming. The processor is not good but it does good with over all performance.

Got this laptop so I could finally play some of the games I’ve been wanting to that haven’t gotten a port to console. Overall if you are looking for a budget laptop this should be the one. It can play most games that I’ve tried with no issue. The fans keep it cool even after hours of play, a probably I’ve had with laptops in the past. Graphics look amazing only thing I’d have to complain about is the battery only lasts about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs when playing so best to keep charger handy.

This is a great laptop! As someone who does pretty simple gaming, it’s met all my requirements! From what I’ve seen though, it can definitely handle some pretty hefty games. My only slight problem is the battery life, at 100% it’ll only last about 2 hours, but I won’t take that away from my rating because it’s as expected for me. Overall, for whatever type of gamer you are, this is an awesome laptop!

It's my first ever gaming laptop so i may be biased. But its basically perfect. I dont run any heavy games (roblox and stardew mostly) so lag is never an issue. The battery lasts about 2 hours off the charger, though i wouldnt recommend playing games without it charging. 8/10

Purchased this laptop as my on the go gaming PC. Great performance, great ventilation. The screen could be a bit brighter, but with the 144hz refresh rate and the 3060, it performs well. The only issue was the RAM, which i upgraded to 32GB. Let's be real, with all the applications you're running, these days you definitely want at least 16gb, if not 32gb, and its not much more to upgrade. Overall a great laptop for daily gaming needs.

The computer performs very well. It has exceptional built quality. I upgraded RAM to 2×16gb. It was pretty easy to take the bottom cover off. 7 small screws to access RAM. I haven't tried to play forza 4 or 5 yet but I'll reduce to 4 stars if the 3050 can't keep up. Other games have been fine. I got it on sale for 600. It's a bargain at that price.

I've had this laptop for about a month now and I use it every day. It has so far been great in performance although the material is a bit flimsy. I've been using it for school and very light gaming so it can get a bit hot so a fan pad may be needed. I also recommend getting another 8GB RAM stick to expand to 16GB of RAM because then you really bottleneck the performance. Other than those critiques I have been really enjoying this laptop.

This laptop is quick and reliable. I did add a stick of ram to bring it up to 16gb, but that has made this one of the electronics I can use when I need it and not have to be annoyed by. I appreciate that very much and I do not regret spending the extra money.
