Customers often highlight the Victus 15.6" laptop's strong performance and good graphics capabilities for its price point. Many appreciate the option to upgrade the RAM, but some users mention that the battery life could be improved and that the screen brightness may not be sufficient in all situations. Additional feedback points to the build quality as decent and the weight as manageable. While some find the fan noise noticeable, others report that the laptop does not overheat excessively.

Solid laptop paired with a horrific touchpad

It's a solid budget laptop. I snagged this on Black Friday and it's a worth the price. The 3050 is okay for lightweight gaming. On AAA games, it doesn't reach 60fps on low settings. The 144hz IPS display is great for light usage.
To do the heavy work, use this laptop plugged in. Without the cord, performance tanks and the battery life is pretty abysmal. It's a solid productivity device for apps such as Office and Photoshop. On the go, I can use Office just fine for a few hours. The RAM is upgradable and I recommend to upgrade to at least 16gb. 8gb just isn't enough, especially with most of it being used for Windows 11.
It's my single biggest issue with this laptop is the touchpad. This is the second HP laptop I purchased with the same issue, so I feel it's HP-related. For whatever reason, and I can't seem to get it fixed, the touchpad will be stuck in a "press mode"; where whenever I try to drag the mouse, it will ALWAYS touch and drag, making it impossible to use the laptop at all. Use this laptop with a mouse ignores this issue, but I can't use a mouse everywhere I go.

This laptop performs exactly as advertised and as an engineering student, I’m able to run both CAD softwares and high-intensity video games like Starfield with no problems. The fan gets a little loud sometimes but the CPU rarely ever gets past 80°F so I look past that overall. Good laptop!

Very solid computer.
First, it's got a very sleek design and looks very nice, the size is good and there is great airflow in the bottom and back bottom side of the rig.
Second, the performance is great and runs games like valorant, WOW, and fortnite perfectly.
Overall I am super pleased with this laptop and would buy again if needed.

Especially at BF pricing, bright big screen and can stream/play my xbox titles with no problem, along with a little work at times ;) To any debate, ordered the Crucial upgrade ram 32gx2 kit after sorting through reviews and questions and works perfectly. Highly recommend as portable but powerful work and gaming laptop. Enjoy!

I’ve had this computer for a year almost my 2nd year in August and it hasn’t had a single issue or problem with it the computer is a bit loud if you play games with big files or games with higher resolution but if you lower the resolution a bit it’s actually a good computer runs even thing pretty well and holds good for budget pc

Got this for my fiance on sale for $599.99 and for the price the quality is outstanding. Not nearly as bulky as some budget options and decent specs (3050 is multitudes better than the 1650 that is standard for the $600 price range) Runs fairly quiet though I haven't run anything too demanding yet. Keyboard is comfortable and responsive. I have the $1,600 Lenovo legion 7i slim for reference I do know what the higher end feels like. Get Either this or the Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3 with the 3050. Whichever is on sale for $600 range.

I got it for my fiance so we could game together. Got it on a great sale. Paid $580 for it instead of $900 and it runs every game weve thrown at it extremely well. Had to debloat windows 11 to get the best potential out of it though but after that, amazing laptop. And ive always been a desktop guy

Little powerhouse for a good deal. Lets be honest, youre not getting this to crank out max settings. Youre getting it for a budget gaming laptop because you and i are both broke. Its ok, this is a safe place, but lemme say you do get more bang for the buck. Definitely recommend.

Excellent speed, few faults. The oddest thing I've yet encountered is a recurring delay when trying to empty the recycling bin before the dialogue prompt appears. Otherwise, it boots fast and runs well. I use mine primarily as a workstation and media center, but it's handled most games perfectly well. It doesn't seem to like HTML5 very much, but almost nothing I play uses that.

This laptop performs well, but has a couple flaws.
Firstly, with prolonged use, the edges on the bottom of the laptop begin to dig into my wrists and forearm, irritating my skin and leaving faint marks.
As well as the trackpad being a bit finnicky. If you put weight onto the laptop's frame on either side of the trackpad (Like if you were to rest your elbow on it), the slight flex in the laptop can actually press down on the touchpad, tricking the computer into thinking you're clicking or dragging, even if using a dedicated mouse.
The battery life is also completely incorrect.
Granted, I had opened mine to upgrade it's RAM from 1x8GB to 2x16GB, inadvertently drawing more power and making the computer's battery life suffer, but Its advertised lifespan at 10.5 hours is still wildly incorrect even without my upgrade.
Basic use as even just a work laptop with max brightness and battery usage leaning towards performance, I only get 4-ish hours of life. 5 if I'm frugal and turn the screen brightness down.
The cooling for this laptop is also suboptimal. As the computer is in use, the cooling eventually radiates up and through the keyboard, making my hands a little sweaty from use.
I also tried to play a game I enjoyed (Insurgency Sandstorm), and despite getting respectable performance, the fans almost immediately climbed to max speed and the CPU began thermal throttling.
But for a less demanding game (Teardown), it runs respectably without getting too loud.
The support from HP for this line of laptops seems to be a little lackluster as well. I had tried update some drivers, but my model in particular wasn't listed on their website, and I had a small back and forth with their support trying to identify the exact model I had, eventually leading to them directly emailing me the drivers I was looking for.
And, although I'm unsure if this is the computer's fault, when I connect my bluetooth earbuds to it, there seems to be a short half-second or so delay between something happening on the computer, and when I actually get the audible feedback.
HOWEVER, I do enjoy using this laptop despite its issues. The charging brick uses a standardized outlet-to-power supply cable, so any computer power cable can work to charge this laptop. I had lost mine a few weeks after purchase, and replaced it with a generic cable from Amazon, which works perfectly.
The charging time is great as well. From 1% to 100%, whilst in high performance high brightness use, it takes about an hour.
Overall, I don't think I'd recommend this laptop to someone. It doesn't feel totally thought-through, but the issues this laptop does have aren't critical, or makes it unusable.

I have bought a few of these for the marketing team at our business. They have preformed very well in photoshop and illistrator. They are also easy to upgrade if needed. I have swapped 32gb of ram into them and upgraded to a 2TB nvme ssd. With just a few screws the bottom pannel pops right off.

Got the victus on deal. The spec is just right for the price and performance. Overall built quality of the laptop is good, Backlit keyboard was a plus during night/dark use. could be better if 16gb ram, but for the price performance in most games are set to med-high settings.

Got this on sale. I needed a low cost secondary laptop and decided to try and find one I could do some gaming on as well. This one fit the bill. The processor has plenty of power. The GPU is more than enough to satisfy my needs with the 1080 screen resolution. The keyboard has a good feel even if it is a little cramped. The touchpad is nice. The aesthetics are great. I would have liked to have a higher resolution screen. I also would have liked to have the ability to charge via usb-c. However, for the combination of specs and price those two things can be overlooked.
The only real negative I will call out is the lack of RAM. 8gb isn't enough. It's easy to upgrade to 16 or 32 gigs and you can get the additional memory cheap. My laptop came with a single 8gb stick so you can easily get to 16 with an additional 8gb stick.

This is my travel gaming laptop for work. It handles the games I play with ease and never over heated. My only drawback is that it is not a USB-C charging laptop so I have to carry two laptop chargers when I travel. Not enough to deter me from buying it again, but hopefully someone finds this part helpful! The battery life has been great, and the display is perfect.

This laptop is the reason I don’t go out on the weekends. It’s fast has a lot of power for a laptop. I can run red dead redemption 2 on this with ultra high graphics and she handles it like a pro. Now she is big and a little heavy for a laptop but I love her.

Good entry gaming laptop. You can play most games out there, for newer games in lower visuals but still playable. Like most recent laptops upgrades for ram and storage are easy and you can do them yourself if you like messing around with them plus ssd's and rams are not that expensive anymore.
