Got the laptop on a crazy sale which made it worth it. The GPU though listed as dedicated, still relies on cpu cores to function so there is a slight latency as to be expected. If ut goes on sale again, its feasible, otherwise keep searching. Does what i need it to game wise, but Diablo 4 is my main itch eight now so not insanly crazy with system requirements

I purchased this laptop when it was on sale for $550 and couldn't really be happier, I did add another 8gb stick of ram which helped it a lot but that was only a $30 upgrade, I also added a 1 TB external SSD to help with storage, But now this laptop can run anything I throw at it. It actually performs better then my friends PC that costed him around $2000. I would recommend this to anyone!

Great budget friendly laptop for gaming and everyday use. I play Phasmaphobia, PubG, Jak and daxter OpenGoal PC port with no issues. I have played rust on this, and it does handle the game decent on low settings. With HP omen HUB and NVIDA performance you can track your temps and what not as well as manually control your GPU fan to keep the laptop running cooler. I've never seen temps above 70 degrees Celsius while gaming and temps while browsing the web or watching videos is around 35-45 Celsius for both CPU and GPU. Works well with a secondary monitor hooked up to it (the hdmi port comes directly off the GPU). You can easily take the bottom cover off to add another stick of ram, I currently have 16gb of ram installed. Battery life is decent when unplugged although you may experience frame drops while gaming, I recommend you keep it plugged in while gaming.

Great Laptop for Light Gaming and Work

Purchased this for my girlfriend who does light gaming and needed a higher performing laptop for daily school work and browsing.
This laptop does excellent in lighter titles such as Sims 4, Unpacking, or League of Legends. The RAM was upgradable and I did so with 2 SODIMM DDR4. The included SSD is great but as I opened the laptop, there is only 1 slot for an NVMe SSD. There seems to be another possible slot but would need to have another NVMe slot soldered in (although I have no idea if soldering one aftermarket would actually allow that second slot to work).
The audio is good for the price point and there hasn’t been issues when gaming or watching movies on a browser. The screen is fantastic with the 144hz, though if you want to play any higher end games on 144hz, you may want to consider a more powerful laptop. For browsing and running school apps such as MS Office, it runs fantastic. Upgrading the RAM has definitely helped when having multiple programs and Chrome apps open.

Even after continued use, the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop continues to impress. Its powerful Intel Core i5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics ensure smooth performance, whether my fiancee is working on projects or diving into her favorite games. The 8GB memory and 512GB SSD provide ample storage and speed, while the sleek mica silver design adds a touch of style to her setup. Overall, it's a reliable and versatile laptop that has exceeded our expectations, making it a worthwhile investment for anyone seeking performance and reliability in their gaming experience.

Nice laptop, the processor is equivalent to my older i7 and it does well in adjusting its clock speed depending on load. Graphics card is dated, but it's a good card for gaming.
Downside is the amount of RAM, but that was easily fixed with buying two 16 GB sticks from Best Buy for around 70 bucks and swapping out the pathetic 8GB that came stock.
Windows 11 is a nice addition, takes a little bit to get used to from Win 10, but I've grown to like it much better.
I got this for 500$ on sale, which was a great deal. Dunno if I would have paid the original price of 800$.
Overall, if it's on sale, get it.

So I bought this computer as my personal work computer during my stay at a nursing program. to this day the thing still works and yes it games pretty well too. my only complaint is the charger as it tends to get hot and actually broke once so I had to call the warranty in order to get a new one which btw it was covered and sent right away after 1 phone call. Battery life is horrible for gaming it will die in an hour of use playing war thunder. if doing simple office work you got about 2 hrs.

As soon as i boit it i aso bought 2- 16GB memory to max out from 8Gb to 32. Not purchased for gaming but right away decided to but Metal of Honor from Steam and right away game play froze. Laptop has Omen on it and unit clearly was overheating so through Omen was able to put fan on high and gameplay was now ok. Purchase a external laptop fan base so i can play and not have laptop fan on hi and burn ot out. Besides on hi its pretty loud. Laptops arent really made for gaming and are common to overheat anyways so i wasnt surprised. Overall though it runs great now

This laptop has been better than I expected for the low price I paid for it. It was better than expected for the full price it was as well. The graphics were amazing. The memory/storage was incredible. I was able to have about 20 games or so downloaded without any lag or performance issues while gaming and recording for my youtube channel. This laptop is great for starting out just gaming for fun.

While I have a dedicated PC, it's nice to have something I can travel with.
+The design is minimal (doesn't scream gamer)
+Decently fast; I general don't play too many games or use high settings, but the device still handles high settings pretty well in my experience
Honestly I don't have any negatives to write about that bother me. It's a budget laptop (especially on sale), and it works great. I'm just not fond of Windows 11.

I got this on sale and as an open-box for $480. For the money you can do no better for a gaming laptop. Sure, it’s not a powerhouse, but it has enough juice to run most games I have thrown at it at medium-high settings. My favorite thing is that it looks like a normal business level laptop, but can game and you don’t have to look silly doing so (not that rgb lights and aggressive logos are silly). I’m glad HP refined their low-end gaming computers and this is a great product so far.

Let me start with this, great value on sale! 500 to 600 AMAZING value now, some AAA games will not work on it but with some tweaking you can get most games working on it, first add a ram stick (50$ max) and you can buy and SSD, be careful the SSD screw is weak, i had to drill it out because it was stripped, I run mostly Rocket league and some heavier games like outer worlds (low settings) perfect value, and the portability is a cherry on the top.
