11 months into the purchase and this laptop still works as good as new. My only complaint would be that the battery drains too quickly, but given the high performance, that's expected. Working perfectly

Have had this for 2 days now & I am unsure about it... It is super fast & strong for a laptop, but the battery life sucks! I was doing basic set up & it was already down like 15%! Same when I am not using it. I started to turn off the keyboard light & everything that was running in the background. I am hoping this works or I am considering returning it sadly. I would leave it plugged in, but i feel that is even worse for the battery. I love the laptop, but the battery life may be a breaking point. I haven't even ran a game yet, I can't imagine how drained the battery gets from that :/

We have been using these Victus laptops for our mobile webcasting rigs. They have performed very well and we are quite impressed. For the price on sale it's very hard to beat. Added extra RAM but that was it.

Performs excellently! The screen leaves a little to be desired. Some pretty meh ghosting artifacts and bad viewing angles. I do have a 240hz monitor that I'm using along side this so this isn't an issue. Cooling is sufficient as well.

I bought this laptop for everyday use and sometimes a game or two. I am not a gamer. I wasn't able to find anything else more suitable for the specs I wanted. The keyboard has a good feeling, it is backlit and that feature is great. The screen is pretty fast, but has an awful glare, no matter how bright you make it. The cooling fan has an annoying high-pitched noise that cannot be remedied. If someone has a solution, please let me know. I managed to change the default setting from always on to turn on when needed. The sound system, being advertised as Bang and Olufsen, falls short of my expectations, not loud enough and not clear enough. My cheap old laptop has far better speakers. The battery is also disappointing considering how heavy the laptop is and its gaming nature - at lowest screen brightness, I am able to watch/stream a 1.5 hour long movie, but that's probably about it (with backlit keyboard turned off). The disappointments don't stop there. HP used to have a good customer support - that's one of the reasons I got this laptop, but not any more. You will have to settle for a chat bot that can only troubleshoot obvious, easy to google issues. If you want actual customer support, you will need to pay a monthly subscription. Furthermore, the geniuses at HP thought it's a good idea to encrypt the SSD, so I had to use my old laptop to log in to HP to find the super long password to gain back access to my computer. This happened out of the blue with no warning. I had to look up how to decrypt it once I was able to log back in. Do not delete or lose that code if your drive is encrypted. As far as games are concerned, I have played a few RTGs, but they don't have high system requirements that would push the laptop to its limits. The games played fine. I had the laptop plugged in while playing because I want higher brightness. No concerning amount of heating up while playing.

The HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop, equipped with an Intel Core i7-12650H, 16GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, and a 512GB SSD, presents a solid gaming and multitasking solution. While it demonstrates considerable strengths, there are areas where refinement could elevate its overall appeal.
Performance:
The combination of an Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB RAM delivers commendable performance for most gaming and productivity tasks. However, to truly leverage the potential of this laptop, future iterations could explore expanding the RAM options to accommodate more intensive multitasking and content creation needs.
Graphics:
The RTX 3050 Ti offers satisfactory graphics performance, striking a balance between power and efficiency. However, considering the rapid advancements in gaming graphics, incorporating more powerful GPUs in future models could offer a more future-proof gaming experience.
Display:
The 15.6" display with FHD resolution provides a satisfactory visual experience, but there's room for improvement in color accuracy and brightness. Exploring higher refresh rate options or even higher resolution displays could enhance the laptop's visual appeal, particularly for gamers seeking a more immersive experience.
Design and Build:
The laptop's design is modern and sleek, featuring customizable RGB lighting for a personal touch. To enhance the laptop's premium feel, utilizing more premium materials in its construction and improving the build quality would make it more durable and visually appealing.
Cooling and Thermals:
While the cooling system does its job fairly well, it could benefit from more robust thermal management, especially during extended gaming sessions. Incorporating more advanced cooling solutions, such as vapor chamber technology, would help maintain consistent performance and prolong the laptop's lifespan.
Storage and Connectivity:
The 512GB SSD provides a decent amount of storage for gaming and applications, but offering larger storage options or even dual storage configurations could better accommodate users with diverse needs. Moreover, ensuring the inclusion of the latest USB and connectivity standards would enhance its versatility.
Battery Life:
Gaming laptops are notorious for limited battery life, and the Victus is no exception. While some battery life trade-offs are expected for performance, optimizing power efficiency without compromising on performance would greatly enhance the laptop's usability in portable scenarios.
Price Point:
To truly stand out in the competitive gaming laptop market, considering a more aggressive pricing strategy or bundling additional accessories could make the HP Victus an even more attractive option for budget-conscious gamers.
In conclusion, the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop with its Intel Core i7 processor, RTX 3050 Ti GPU, and 16GB of RAM showcases commendable performance and features for its price range. While there's room for improvement in areas like graphics, display quality, cooling, and battery life, addressing these aspects in future iterations could elevate the laptop's overall appeal and offer a more well-rounded gaming experience. With thoughtful enhancements, the HP Victus could become a true contender in the gaming laptop arena.

Rating: ★★★★☆
The HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop with Intel Core i7-12650H, 16GB Memory, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, and 512GB SSD in Mica Silver is a mid-range gaming laptop that punches above its weight. It offers a compelling mix of performance, portability, and affordability, making it a noteworthy option for gamers and content creators on a budget.
**Design (★★★★☆):**
The laptop's Mica Silver finish adds a touch of elegance to the otherwise bold and gamer-centric design. The build quality is solid and, at 5.07 pounds, it's reasonably portable. The backlit keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience and customizable RGB lighting for a gaming vibe. The 15.6" display provides vibrant colors and a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming.
**Performance (★★★★☆):**
The Intel Core i7-12650H, 16GB of RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti form a potent combination for gaming and multitasking. It handles modern games admirably, thanks to the RTX 3050 Ti, which offers good frame rates at 1080p resolution with high settings. The 512GB SSD ensures quick loading times and system responsiveness.
**Cooling (★★★☆☆):**
One of the minor drawbacks is the laptop's cooling system. Under heavy loads, it can get a bit loud and warm, but it remains manageable. However, investing in a cooling pad can help maintain optimal performance during extended gaming sessions.
**Battery Life (★★★☆☆):**
As expected with gaming laptops, the battery life is modest. You can get around 4-5 hours of casual use, but when gaming, you'll need to be plugged in to achieve peak performance.
**Audio (★★★☆☆):**
The laptop's Bang & Olufsen-tuned speakers deliver clear audio, but the bass can be lacking. For a more immersive experience, consider using headphones or external speakers.
**Connectivity (★★★★☆):**
The laptop offers a decent array of ports, including USB-C, HDMI, and an SD card reader. It also features Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 for fast and reliable wireless connections.
**Software (★★★★☆):**
HP keeps the pre-installed bloatware to a minimum, allowing you to enjoy a cleaner Windows experience out of the box.
**Value (★★★★☆):**
The HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop strikes an excellent balance between performance and affordability. While it may not compete with higher-end gaming laptops, it's a fantastic choice for gamers and content creators looking for a machine that can handle modern titles without breaking the bank.
In summary, the HP Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop offers an attractive mix of gaming prowess, portability, and affordability. While it may have a few minor downsides, it excels in delivering a strong gaming experience and is a great choice for those who want high-quality gaming without the premium price tag.
