Great Start
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been looking at options and this one is a good start. The biggest drawback is the hard drive. I bought this on sale for 2 main reasons: the Ryzen 7 8th gen processor and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. Having saved $400 off the bat; I put that money into boosting the RAM from 16 gb to 32 gb and a 4 TB Samsung pro hard drive. Now she's a beast. Im surprised that desktops with these specs cost close to $2700, but I was able to get this laptop there for around $1200 with the savings and a trade in. Therefore, this has alot of value and potential if you coordinate with other deals like the upcoming holidays.

Victus
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great entry-level product at its price point. Battery life is a bit disappointing when running games, but performance is initially sufficient to run at acceptable graphic and performance fidelity. Might not run modern AAA titles at max settings.

Nice product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Admittedly upgraded the memory and ssd out of the box (sop). Sturdy construction with excellent graphics card. Runs all games cool as a cucumber. Can't comment on battery life as I haven't used it unplugged for any great length of time.

Really nice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good! For some reason tho I keep having to mess around with the sound settings for headphones to work. I also ran out of storage pretty quickly because of my games. However, it runs really well!

Cant beat that deal
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an excellent condition open box HP Victus 16" 8845HS RTX4070 that was also on sale for $781. I was hesitant in buying a used laptop but I couldn't pass up that deal. The product was exactly that when I opened it up, excellent condition. Pros: Very fast, Quiet on all power settings, Battery life, RTX 4070 Cons: Only 1 M.2 SSD slot available. 16G ram but that can be upgraded, Very flat sounding speakers

Good for the money (esp on sale)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty decent price/performance, esp if picked up on one of its common sales. Got mine for ~$879 around cyber monday '24, but saw it down as low as $850 after that. Powerful GPU and CPU. Upgraded with 64GB kit of Kingston memory, and a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB m.2 SSD. I notice a performance hit on the GPU when I try to use a thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable to my monitor, vs when I'm using the built in display or using the HDMI output. The HDMI seems to be directly connected to the 4070, while the output through thunderbolt to DP seems to be doing the "work" with the 4070, but routing output through the Radeon 780M, causing a 10%-20% hit on overall performance (when using video output from thunderbolt only). This was annoying because I wanted to use a dock for the video output, as well as connecting up my peripherals, but to get full-power video output I need to use the HDMI on the laptop. Just a quirk to be aware of. Fan can get noticeably loud under heavy load.

You wont find a better laptop for $900
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked it up as a desktop replacement. Upgraded it to 32GB ram and 2TB nvme. This is a beast for $900. The Victus has a pretty good rep with being so reliable as well. So far I have no issues with it. Currently using it on a 3440x1440p Ultrawide LG and its working great. Gaming its playing everything I throw at it at around 60FPS. Only thing you may have to do is set lower RT in some titles however I am playing at 3440x1440 so that's probably why. Stays pretty cool for a gaming laptop as well since its undervolted a bit. Biggest con is the 8GB of VRAM!! It really is my only issue with the machine because it plays games so well being a 4070m but can max out pretty easily depending on the title. Only game I have issues playing is Indiana Jones as thats a very VRAM hungry game.

Good laptop on sale
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All my games ran well with no issues. Screen is good enough but if you are under a bright light you may have some issues seeing the screen. Fans can get a bit loud but i usually have headset on. For upgrading it has 1 m.2 SSD slot but i wish it had 2, you can switch out both ram cards out. I got it on sale for $850 which I'm happy with.

Overall a good experience to date!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, so good. Seems to work well, no major issues when using it and works well with the games I have tried to date. I have had it for a couple of weeks at the moment. Admittedly, I have not tried any of the newest games, but seems good. The only issue is it is a very heavy computer, not ideal for regular travel.

HP Victus 16 (2024): A Budget-Friendly Gaming Powe
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The HP Victus 16 (2024) is a solid choice for gamers who are looking for a budget-friendly laptop that can handle demanding games and creative tasks. Its strong performance, upgradeable components, and decent display make it a compelling option. However, the lack of VRR and potential battery life limitations should be considered.

for ballers on a budget
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re looking to buy a budget laptop with performance near high end laptops, this one is for you. I liked everything about this laptop EXCEPT: the colors on the screen, the fan noise while on performance setting, speakers are bad, and that’s it! If you can get over these few things then this would be a solid laptop

Good laptop for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good laptop for the price, It's just the ram isn't high enough but can be easily modded to have 32 GB and 64 GB. Though the battery life last around 3 hours with gaming.

Amazing Deal on Discount!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this laptop for 900$ which was crazy for the performance it offers. Right out of the box, it has some bloatware, but so does every other prebuilt computer/laptop. So I factory reset the computer and redownloaded all of my personal preferences. Everything runs great so far and i havent had any real issues with the build quality, performance, or noise. This laptop could easily be 1200-1300$(USD). The only thing I can't speak for is the longevity of the machine. I've only got it recently. Overall, im happy. P.S. im not some rating bot! :D

Great Laptop.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Runs well. Good laptop if you can get this discounted. Only downside is that the hard drive is small and can run out of space quick - hence docking a star for that.

Decent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop works well. In bright conditions, the screen weak, but otherwise, it runs most modern AAA games, which I imagine is the only reason someone would buy this.

Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a great first buy, if you know someone fluent in PC gaming, hit them up to help get you set up with the OMEN gaming performance control setting for the fans to kick on at different cpu/gpu temps, upping the graphic quality, FPS etc etc. I have it strictly set up for gaming so any non-gaming applications went out the window. I use a cooling pad as well to help keep the temps control running heavier games but unsure if the cooling pad goes "against the grain" of the laptop fans.
