Perfect laptop for a general use. Mainly use it for bill paying, taxes, grocery shopping, general shopping, & watching Netflix, prime video, etc. Perfect fit for us.

The build quality isn't actually that great as people state. The screen is thin and flimsy, there isn't much support for it; so it ends up flopping around and if you place it in a bag with lots of stuff, you can easily risk cracking it. The body of the laptop where the trackpad is the worst. If you decide to have that laptop on your lap, you'll notice that the track pad will warp and start to "click" itself!
Battery life for my unit was absolutely awful. We'd get an hour and a half at most with just browsing.
After about 2-3 weeks of normal use the laptop started to give up entirely. First the headphone jack stopped working and when I went into the Best Buy Geeksquad location, it jus decided to stop working altogether.
The specs on this laptop are absolutely great, but everything else sucks about it.
I should have thought twice about buying an HP laptop.

Performance was much better then the 10300H, however seems like the 4GB of the 3050 is limiting. Display was a bit bland, but it seems unless you go up $400 all of them have these dim displays. I did like the subdued design vs some of the over the top versions with RGB everywhere.

This is my first gaming labtop and I got to say it’s pretty freaking sick. My favorite part of the labtop is how slim and clean it is, my problems with gaming labtops is a lot of them have these features and colors to make it look more “gamer” but this labtop doesn’t have all of that.
Pros: clean look, dual channel ram, 3050
Cons: 256gb of storage,

This computer I have to say is one of the best looking gaming laptops at this price, couple of issues though.
Cons:
1.) Intel CPU gets HOT
2.) 256gb of storage is not enough
3.) 8gb of ram is limiting
Pros:
1.)Looks sleek and professional
2.) lots of upgradability
3.) can handle fairly large loads

Great gaming laptop although I am not a gamer. Good graphics as well. Only issue I have had is the battery life is short. If you want it plugged in the wall while you do your work then that's your business but unplug it and you may get a few hours of use. Not too big of a

- Decent build quality (expected at this price)
- Amazing specs for the price
- Easily upgradable (2 ram slots, 2 nvme slots)
- 1080p 60 hz (fine for me, but not other people)
- Purchased on sale for $799 (Still pretty good at 899)

After doing lots of research on many different models of PCs, this HP was the one I chose. I was originally in the market for an Ultrabook style laptop like the Samsung Galaxy Book, LG Gram or Dell XPS. After doing extensive research for about 3 weeks, I decided to purchase the HP Victus and am extremely happy with my purchase so far (even though it's only been a couple of days).
There were a few different features that my laptop had to have for me to go through with it and price was not really a factor, luckily. I was looking for at least a 15" display (1080 or 4K), good amount of I/O ports, number pad on the keyboard, and upgradeable storage and memory. Since I'm not really a PC gamer or video editor the discrete GPU was an added benefit, even though it affects the battery life. Out of all of the laptops I researched the HP Victus was the one that satisfied all of these requirements and was still way less expensive than almost all of the other laptops (most had an i7 but the 11th gen i5 is more than enough for me). Since purchasing, I have already upgraded the storage to a 1TB NVMe (Samsung 980) and memory to 32GB and it runs great.
The only factors that made me hesitant in buying were reports of excess screen wobble from the hinges and the screen brightness being too dim (only 250 nits). After purchasing and using for a couple of days, both of things have not been an issue for me whatsoever. The screen barely moves and is similar to any other laptop I've owned (previous was another 15" HP). A lot of the reviews that mention this seem to be overblowing this greatly as the build quality is extremely high (inside and out), in my opinion. The screen brightness is also not an issue for me at all and I've found that full brightness is more than enough (I also cast to a monitor so I wasn't as worried about this). The only thing I can't really verify yet is the battery life since I haven't used this when not plugged in, but around the reported 6-9 hours is plenty for my purposes (full-time student using a decent amount of virtual machines/OSs, writing papers, programming/scripting, etc.). Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend.

I still need to test it further but I noticed really quickly how the speakers on the laptop would let off static and this weird vibrating sounds from the left side of the computer. Also when I got it, the screen felt loose or I guess wobbly. The keyboard is pretty hit or miss, I'm not very picky about it but it does feel a little cheap. Those are my main issues right now.

So far it's been working well. I'm not a big gamer but my husband recommended this due to the most updated graphics card. I do feel it's a big heavy but the screen is nice and thin and so far it has not heated up on me yet.

It runs well but the storage is tinsy.
I can't have more than like 3 games installed, so unless you're going to invest in external storage, not a great choice for gaming.

Great system, loaded it with 32gb ram and its even a better system than before. Bought this laptop for my younger son for his bday and he loves it, Omen feature is pretty helpful when running high load games. Less expensive than actual gaming laptops but have all the requirements of a gaming system.

This laptop is a great option. The i5 11400h is a great performing CPU, paired with an RTX 3050, (not the Ti version) and 8gb of ddr4 2933 (which is not much, but it's running in dual channel, and can be upgraded to 32gb) and a 256gb m.2 ssd, which can be upgraded with an additional m.2 ssd. The viewing angles on the screen are respectable, and the laptop is great for playing ray tracing games at low/medium settings with 32gb ram, and ray tracing enabled. Definitely would recommend it if you are looking for an entry level rtx laptop, and plan on upgrading it down the road. -Reece

I absolutely love this laptop for the price range. The construction is solid and it is well-made and has an attractive design all the way around. The dedicated Nvidia GeForce RTX is screamingly fast and the LCD shows very deep blacks and super white whites, making for a beautiful contrast, along with a high refresh rate, the images are life-like and stunning. This is a very powerful laptop that can easily play the top games out there with no problem. I personally use this as a "creator" laptop for video editing, music composition, and also for work. It blows me away at how fast this thing is. I opened it up and the design is well done with the two fans and heatsinks. Every part is well documented through HP, so this thing would be easy to upgrade/repair. I researched several offerings in this price bracket from ASUS, Lenovo, Dell, and many others, and this one just takes the cake! Beautiful laptop in every way. I highly recommend!
